was great yesterday and horrible today. I got 9 hours from 100 to 0. was listening to pod casts using pocket casts, but the drain just seemed way high considering

I didn't see if this was mentioned, but I recently purchased the HTC Rezound for my wife and ordered another battery from VZW for $19.99, I put that battery in my Thunderbolt and it works great. Even with daily usage from medium to heavy, getting at least 14-20 hours of battery life. Iam running a rooted Tbolt and I'm using Skyraider rom and it is great. The phone should have been released with this battery. I have used the bigger extended battery and hated the extra size. Sure it is easy to hold in the hand, but that is just the trade off for having better phone life.

If you love your Tbolt and can't get an upgrade soon, order this battery. You will not be disappointed.

Bxrider117, wanted to reply to your original note in this thread (yes thread police, I know it was posted elsewhere - so WHAT!) to say THANK YOU for letting us know here! I tend to get all melodramatic with this stuff, but you just make probably the single biggest change in my Tbolt experience since the random reboots were fixed. ;-)

My Rezound battery came yesterday. Popped it into the phone and let it charge in the crade all afternoon. Started at about 48% and I got it up to the low 60s before I said naa, I'm gonna charge it in the charger directly when I get home so it's faster. But the slow charge in the afternoon make it "feel" like it was charging more deeply.

Took it home and charged it full. Close to bedtime I popped it back into the phone full, and then still put the phone on the home crade for the overnight.

Woke up and all was well, and with early morning message and twitter checking, the phone sipped on the battery. I kept placing it back on the charger all morning before leaving for work, effectively bump charging it several times.

Here's where I got really impressed.

Left for work. SOP: turn off Wifi, turn on Bluetooth, fire up the earpiece, phone in pocket, out the door.

50 minute drive to work. No calls, but a quick glance for messages, etc, here and there at stoplights. The last few miles of the trip are through the new 4G land of Poughkeepsie NY (due on 12/15, but turned on since 12/12).

I got to my office, turned off Bluetooth and was about to open Tweetdeck when I saw my little battery percent meter go from nothing (100%) down to 99%.

Are you kidding me? That NEVER happens!

After a typical commute I should be down in the low 90s. But I'm only just NOW coming down from 100%?

Fast forward to end of day. Left office a little before 4pm. Now almost 9:30. On batter 5h 30m., at 60%. You might say "big deal" (and maybe it's not for most), but that's awesome performance for my usage habits and signal area, etc (all the factors that impact). At this rate I would be able to get 10-12 hours straight on a single charge.

This Rezound battery is amazing. Very, very impressed. Granted, this is only my first full day of testing, and we know that battery life does improve after the first few full cycles, so I expect it to get at least a little better.

I know folks around here can see better battery performance with other setups, but I'll tell you, this Rezound 1620 is doing better for me than both the default TB 1400 and the Anker 1700 - hands down. And today I went and ordered one for my son's TB.

The improvement this battery will bring will get debated for a while no doubt, but there IS an improvement - no doubt about that.

Many thanks for letting us know!

Follow-up! 15h 34m on this charge now, with 16% still left!!! This is wonderful! I've never gotten this kind of longevity out of my Tbolt! Now, granted, some of those hours are from 1am to 6:30am while I slept, but hey, that's regular life testing conditions.

Also worthy of note is how little this battery loses while sitting idle. The built-in gingerbread battery use graph is virtually flat-lined for the period I was asleep. Awesome.

Loving this Rezound battery!

I am starting to feel remiss by not relaying my Rezound battery experience. So, here goes...

Using the Rezound battery I have observed an estimated 15.7 percent increase in battery duration over the standard ThunderBolt battery. It is somewhat ironic that 1620mAh is 15.7 percent higher than 1400. Anyway, seriously, this has been my experience. I have not seen any "miraculous" performance increase. Only what was expected. However, it is still a very nice increase.

I have to say I wish I'd been a little more academic or scientific about my battery experiences prior to this, such that I could get that precise. Battery use is kinda a lifestyle thing for me. I had simply gotten to the point where I didn't think about it and worked around what the limitations were. I knew that if I have that chance, I charge whenever possible. Long car ride? Plug in. Overnight? Plug in. Etc. It's really a pleasure to look down at the phone and see way more power still present than I expected.

is it really worth it??!?1

Well, I don't want to make any presumptions about anybody's personal financial situations, but for me, for $21.61 with tax - yes. Very, very worth it. Worth it enough to order my son one. Worth it enough to call my boss and tell her to order herself one. Especially since I spent somewhere around $50 for the extended battery.

Day 2 with my Rezound battery and I can say that it is slightly better than the stock one. Yesterday, it only lasted about the same length of time. Now I am at 57% after only 7 hrs, 35 minutes. But I did spend a lot more time talking on my phone today. Only a small amount of internet usage. I am hoping that it will be even better tomorrow as others here has stated.

Rezound Battery - not lasting as long some days

Yesterday i removed my TB from the charger at about 5:30am and was at an all-day training for my job in an area where my 4G coverage seemed to fluctuate between 4G, 3G, & 1X most of the day.

I surfed the internet and send 30+ text messages during the day and by 3:15pm; my phone was at 5% battery life. I figured since the coverage was fluctuating the whole day, that was why my battery died out fast.

Today, i was at my normal office location for work and didn't surf the net or text as much. Only made a few calls, longest being 15-20 min or so. I unplugged at about 6:30am and now, its now 6:50pm my time and I?m down to 15% battery life.
My TB is stock/not rooted.
Anyone else having a similar experience??

I did have a few good days with light use where the battery lasted 20+ hours but the last few days are described above?

Re: Rezound Battery - not lasting as long some days

Same here :( The first few days with the Rezound battery were great, I even went in to the Verizon store to tell them how much better the battery life was..but after a few days I think the phone properly calibrated the battery, and now it lasts about the same as my stock Thunderbolt battery.. Was getting about 9 hours with medium usage, 12 hours with light, all on 3G (do not use the 4G to save battery). Oh well guess it was hoping for miracles that and extra 250mah would do to much.. guess it is back to the extended battery for me, atleast for the winter (in case I am trapped in a snow storm,,lol) might try the Rezound battery again in the spring..depressing :(

Mine is still working the same as it did the first couple days. Works great on light use. I can go 2 days without charging. Moderate to heavy use needs a charge everyday but that's to be expected with any smartphone.

After about 4 days now I would have to say that it is slightly better than the stock battery. The most notable improvement is the fact that it stays near 100% charge longer before it starts going down.

Sorry folks...dropped the ball. 5th charge was heavy to mod use for 14 hours. 6th charge mod use for 21 hours. Have concluded that with moderate use, which is my norm, a charge a day is the conclusion. Will still carry a car charger and an extra charger in my gig bag. For a double sawbuck, color me happy.

That is why I will not purchase this...... I already have the extended battery. :(

i'm happy with the rezound battery. the oem tbolt battery needed a charge to get me through a normal day. rezound battery is ready for the charger when i'm ready for bed. ymmv. the extra hour or 2 was all i needed.

I have to say that it is much better now than the stock battery. I can go all day without using a charger. Stock battery I would have to charge mid to late afternoon. Now I don't have to plug it in until I go to bed. Definitely worth the $20.
