Rezound battery fits the ThunderBolt for $19.99

After about 4 days now I would have to say that it is slightly better than the stock battery. The most notable improvement is the fact that it stays near 100% charge longer before it starts going down.

Exactly the same here. I'd go one extra step and say the period between 100 and 95 is where the true extension is.

Anybody check the usage curve in the battery use widget? Fascinating. Battery sips until about 80% then drops like a stone and then sips again at the end.

Just ordered mine. And yeah, it was listed as full price until I put it in my cart. 19.99 with free shipping. Should get here Wedneday.

My main problem is I work in a building that has TERRIBLE reception. I get about 1 or 2 bars of cell coverage, not even 3G (sometimes not even 1x shows up). Only saving grace is our office wifi so my data could get through. In my situation, turning wifi off actually makes my battery worse since there is no cell data available. Worst part is, there is 4G coverage in the area, it's the building itself that's terrible... for everyone in our building - all carriers.

I purchased the extended battery from Verizon when I got the phone because of all the reviews of the phone. I knew what I was getting into, but it was 1 of 3 4G phones available at the time and I didn't like the other two choices. Unfortunately I hated the extra thickness of the extended battery so I stopped using it, and keep it in my bag as a backup battery if I'm in a pinch.

Since then, I've rooted, installed BAMF Forever with the Adrynalyne 3++ kernel, and just recently CPU Tuner. All of that has helped quite a bit, but I'd still like to squeeze every little minute out of a standard size battery that I can.

Once this comes in, I'll probably keep my stock battery as a fully charged backup, and sell the extended battery (and cover) on ebay. Though I suppose the extended battery would be good for watching movies on flights or something.

So how are people liking their batteries now? I'm curious after a month or so of use.

They're awesome! Been using two since mid November. Charge em via a Seidio Multi-function battery charger and swap out as needed. Rarely if ever use the extended battery anymore. They maintain a charge off full much, much longer than the 1400mAh batteries and last a lot longer. These are what the Thunderbolt should've originally shipped with! :D

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm going to pick one up tomorrow. Can't wait :)

Long term results are mixed here.

- Yes, the battery does last somewhat longer. Less so now, though, than when first installed.

- Any reboot of my phone shows a loss of at least 10, but sometimes as much as 20% of power.

- Recharging seems to max out at percentages of less than 100 - and then jump right up to 100 instantly.

There's definitely an issue with the battery's power level intelligence. I don't know any Rezound owners, but two Tbolt users who have this battery report the dame issues.

I was among the first to try one. I saw little if any improvement but I seem to be in the vast minority there.

Mine works as it should. I can get through the day without wondering if I'll make it to a charger. My usage isn't that heavy but I usually do a solid hour of Netflix on lunch, 30 min of calls, and random texts in an average day. I plug it in over night with anywhere between 30-50% remaining. As for reboots, they consume anywhere between 0-5%. I've never seen more. Couldn't be happier.

Anyone know of any good deals going on for the Rezound battery? I'd also like to get the spare battery charger. I went into the verizon store yesterday and it was 29.99 with the 25% discount. Put the battery in my thunderbolt and it would not boot up. Seems odd that the battery would come with no juice whatsover. Told the clerk i would hold off until the price came down. Being that it wouldn't boot up i was skeptical that it would acually work in my bolt.

It's still $19.99 with free 2 day shipping on Verizon's site here. It says $39.99 until you add it to your cart. Don't sign into your account as that may change the price. The battery only charger is also listed as $29.99 online. But I'd check out the Seidio HTC Thunderbolt Multi Function Battery Charger here. It plugs directly into the wall. It's what I've been using to keep my five batteries charged (2 - standard 1400mAh, 2 - Rezound 1620mAh, and 1 - extended 2750mAh). :)

Thanks Syny, but when i go to the verizon store to view the battery all i get is a wish list link. No link to actually purchase it. Am i missing something?

Also, there seem to be a lot of negative reviews for that charger. A lot of people claiming it comes with the wrong "plate" and their batteries don't fit?

It does that sometimes, not sure why. You'll have to go the long route:

Go to Set Your Location

Enter your zipcode, then type Rezound in the "Search by Device" box and click the search button to the right. Then select the Rezound above. You'll then have to click "Show All" to see all accessories. Scroll down to the standard battery and there should be an option "Add to cart" now.

Not sure what to tell you on the Seidio charger. It came with the correct plate and has worked great for me. Just wanted to point it out as you don't need to use your charger and cable that came with the phone. It just plugs directly into the wall. Whereas the HTC one on Verizon's site, you will need to use the charger and cable.

Got it to work, thanks. Now i just hope it works in my bolt. Like i said, tried one out at the store and it wouldn't even boot up my phone.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to go ahead and order both the battery and charger.

Dozens of people in these forums are using this in their Thunderbolts with no problems. I wouldn't worry about it. It will work. It's not unusual for batteries to be dead or nearly so when you get them.

Thanks, i just want my slim phone back. I went back to my original tbolt battery the other day to get the slim feel and literally watched the battery drain before my eyes. Didn't take long to throw the extended battery back in.

Got the battery yesterday. It booted up with 40% so i charged it overnight with the phone off. Bump charged it 3 times this morning. It stayed at 100% for nearly 3 hours but started dropping at a pretty good clip after that. Currently at 42% after 8hrs 45min of moderate use(Pandora, Youtube, Texting and browser). My first impression is that it is no better than the OEM tbolt battery. Hopefully it will get batter after a few cycles...hopefully. Ordered a second one along with the Seido wall charger.

This is an interesting definition of "moderate use" Youtube and Pandora are two of the worst battery hogs out there. From what you have descried you are doing quite well actually.

This battery is not a wonder cure, or an extended life battery crammed into the size of a stock battery. It's a slightly more powerful battery than the stock one that works well for those who need a little more boost to get through the day (i.e. a couple more hours). If you're a heavy user, and/or the stock battery wasn't lasting you half a day then you will be a lot better served bu getting a regular extended life battery.

I should have specified the amount of time spent using each. I said moderate because i was only on youtube and pandora probably a total of 20 minutes combined. Believe it or not, pandora doesn't really hog my battery when i use it. Don't know why, but it doesn't. Anyway, i think one member here said it best. "it sips from 100% to around 80%, gulps until around 30% and then sips the rest of the way". Just charged it overnight and now i'll bump charge it again and see how it goes on a second cycle. I got around 12 hours out of the first cycle. IIRC, my OEM tbolt battery was getting that. Not expecting a miracle, was just hoping for a little more.

For me here its also about 4G vs 3G. With the radio set to 3G the difference with this battery is dramatic. In 4G mode (mind you, this is whether or not I actually get 4G reception) the battery is only a tad better than the stock.

I'm in the same boat. A lot of people on here don't notice much difference but there some like us that have a HUGE difference in battery life comparing 3G vs 4G. Kind of weird.
