Rezound no longer on display at local Verizon store

I dropped by my local Corporate Owned Verizon Store this afternoon and I was surprised to see they no longer had the Rezound on display. I wanted to see the Rezound so I could get a better idea of what the display might look like on the new HTC One X and HTC EVO LTE.

I asked one of their reps and he indicated they still have the Rezound for sale but it's not on display.

I wonder if Verizon is going to de-emphasize the Rezound or whether the local stores were getting tired of fighting with customers who wanted the Rezound for $50 like the online deal?

WTF is Verizon's problem? How can they write this phone off so quickly? From the get-go this device has gotten the shaft. Now they're trying to liquidate their inventory by selling it for fifty bucks, and now they aren't even displaying it? What a disappointment...

Yea, the new HTC One series is going to take it's place on the shelves, but (corny moment warning) not in our hearts.

Or pockets. I'll wait a few generations before I replace my Rezound.

I'm confused. If what you said is the case, why would they be removing the Rezound from the floor now when Verizon hasn't even announced their HTC One series?

It's pretty silly how the Rezound is treated like a POS. I've played with the Razr, Nexus, and Spectrum, and none seem as good as the Rezound. Forget about the Beats marketing BS. The phone itself is without a doubt the best smartphone I've used thus far.

I have to laugh at people blinding proclaiming that the Razr/Razr Maxx 'TEH BESTT FONE EVAR!!@' I really can't find much I like about it. Sure, the Maxx battery is great, but every phone can have that battery. I slapped one on my Rezound for $25.

If this is true than it is disturbing. Surprising even sense there is not a phone even announced for Verizon to take its place or even rival it from htc. I have only seen one other rezound in use and it was a guy at a job fair. I have seen several razrs and a couple of nexus's though. I understand why other ppl get those phones, but I would not put either of them over the rezound.

If it was named the "droid rezound" I feel that the treatment might somehow be different.

Display was still up in Mt Vernon, il. Today. I was just in there today to buy a red silicon case.

Was just in two stores in New York City. Although they did still have the Rezound on display they told me it was getting moved out oft the way for Incredible. They also mentioned that the screen on the Rezound is better then the new Dinc which will be an international phone.

Still on Pre+, think im going to take the plunge into Android world today.

Geesh, that city never sleeps, is right. What time did they open, it's a Sat. morning for pete'sake? It wasn't addressed officially but the Rezound was discovered to be a global phone, as well. As far as the Inc HD, it's got an S4 processor that will likely surpass our S3, even though it's underclocked in comparison. It's screen size is a narrow 4in and reportedly 720p on qhd but it's an SLCD-2, I believe. So that really should be an interesting side by side comparison. Resolution will be better on the Rezound but it's hard to say until we see the HD in the flesh. As well as, Sense 4.0 putta the box. Overall, I'd say go w/ the Rezound, it's still a beast. You really can't go wrong with it and will enjoy your time with until you upgrade again. You should get some really nice 4g speeds in NYC on the Rez. It's got some really well coded LTE radios in tow.

I really like Sprint's new EVO 4G LTE. Maybe Verizon EOLs the Thunderbolt & Rezound and replaces them with a VZW version of the EVO 4G LTE(Thunderbolt 2 ?). It already looks like a Verizon phone with that color scheme. ;)

I'd love to see it as well. It's sharp looking phone, that's for sure. Still hoping VZW is watching sales figures on GNote @ AT&T. Love to see a variant of that one in the future on Big Red, hopefully.

Afaik, the rezound has some gsm capabilities, but isn't a true global phone. I haven't really followed that closely, but from what I read before, voice works, but there were issues with texts and data. A true global phone should be able to get voice, text, and data out of the box on gsm on all quad bands.

Do it. I was in the WebOS camp for awhile and really hoped it would work out but I made the jump to Android a little over a year ago with the thunderbolt. No regrets. It was hard getting used to the on-screen keyboard and I did miss the gestures and easy "hacking" but these Android phones are good devices and will do what you need them to do...with speed!

I got the Rezound last week. Its fast and has a beautiful display. Only negative is that its not built as nicely as the Thunderbolt was.

As far as the topic goes, the Rezound is still on display here.

Interesting to hear that the Rezound is still on display at the other Verizon stores - maybe I'll have to check out another store and see if they have one on display. (I still want to see the screen to get an idea about the HTC One X.) For the record, the store I went to yesterday was in Surprise, AZ.

Concerning the comment that the new EVO LTE would be a great Verizon phone, I couldn't agree more. The rumors seem to indicate the Rezound's going to be replaced for a variant of the One S - seems like a step backward in terms of screen quality to me.

Hey, at least the Rezound is still on Verizon's website! Thunderbolt is no where to be found... :'( While the Charge, Inc2 and X2 are still there (probably due to the Droid branding).

This really goes to show how important marketing is. Verizon took the lesser of the three phones and went crazy with the advertising - and sales went through the roof. Nevermind that if you line the Razr up next to the Nexus and Rezound, it's a total embarrassment.

When my mom went to get her new phone, we walked around the displays and I told her about each phone. Interestly enough, she wouldn't even look at the Razr when she heard you can't remove the battery. As a businesswoman who travels a lot, the idea of a phone with a non-removable battery isn't even an option for her (one of the reasons she passed the iPhone too).

I'm not sure why Verizon even bothered doing the Rezound. It failed before it even went on sale. With the tragic marketing campaign, the lack of accessories, et cetera, this phone never had a chance at success. Which is such a shame because it's actually one of the best to come along.

I really enjoy using my rezound but miss my iPhones battery and app support other wise this is an awesome phone

I was at a Portland, Maine store a week ago and Rezound was still there, but clearly unadvertised. I talked with a seemingly rather knowledgeable sales guy and he said that it's due to HTC choosing not to subsidize the advertising, as opposed to Samsung and Motorola. He did say that a few people at the store have and love their Rezounds.
