Rezound Official ICS Update Shelved?

I never imagined the evil that manifested itself in Verizon could be so great. We're almost in August, and no ICS in sight. I can't tell if all those months ago the people that yelled "It's never coming!" and "it'll be here at the end of the year" were doing it out of negativity, or if they had some kind of insider knowledge. Perhaps they were psychic? Either way, they were right, we were wrong. We should've listened.
I feel disgusted thinking about HTC reps saying "early 2012" for the Rezound ICS upgrade. I can't recall being so grossly lied to by a tech company. I know Verizon is stalling it, but they were only prepared for a 6/20 push. Since when is more than halfway through a year considered "early?"

VPT...Verizon People Time. Early 2012 could be December or January 2013. Look at how well they handled the GNex launch. Nobody knew it was dropping until what the day it dropped? Verizon is like an insecure child, they don't want anyone to even think about anything unless its exactly the way they want it to be.

About the actual update, I just say flash the RUU and "fuggedaboudit"...it may not be official but it's probably as close as most will get to official for some time.

There IS a way over on xda to edit hboot after getting S-OFF and making it LOOK like the device is S-ON with a locked bootloader, but frankly, if you're worried about what happens if you return the device, you're wasting your time. It just doesn't matter.

I returned a Razr Maxx because ICS update killed embedded Flash playing support. I got the Rezound because it is certified to work in ICS. Does anyone who has leaked ICS tried to play embedded flash vids from sites like nfl.com? Embedded flash is used my most web sites that play video.

I hate Verizon's pricing plans but love their phones. Bought a rezound without a contract just to use for music video GPS storage and trying out apps. So the rezound without question is STILL one of the best phones made...even being 9 months old. But that's exactly the problem...as you know technology cycles are so quick...and phones are discontinued within a few months. The Rezounds life cycle for retail is well past....thus the reason for VZW not putting the effort and resources into an aging product. I personally think the phone is worth keeping a while...they don't see the point...hate to say it but I think were on our own...long live rezound.

I hope all the hopefuls are right....I just read a post...british I think that was only posted 7 hrs ago...that it was shelved...wonder if the left hand knows what the right is doing....or if one side is just being dishonest. Question us which side is right. I'm hoping for an official before I root and do a custom job myself...here's to the painful process of hoping and waiting.

Well, here's hoping that Chad and the other folks working on AOSP for the Rez indeed get the 4g issue sorted out and we might go to JB soon enough. In the meantime..having the ICS kernel out there would be nice.

Just a couple more hours and July is in the history books, and Rezound ICS OTA remains on the shelf while another month passes by.
