Rezound Official ICS Update Shelved?

Not to throw more gas on the fire but did anyone else notice it's not "Early 2012" anymore? Someone that isn't me should totally sue Verizon for false advertising :D

Yeah you already signed off your rights to sue with the comments in the other thread

So I am guessing mid-July for ICS since the Incredible comes out two days from now and then Jelly Bean first quarter 2013.

I attempted to read the change log, when I regained consciousness I was hitchiking in a pink ballerina dress with 2 new tattoos, never again. Can someone translate?

Lol.... So u see my frustrations! I.did n.still do appreciate it though.:D

sent from this old school ReZound! no ICS :'(

In AD 2012, frustration was beginning.

You: "What happen?"
Consumer: "Verizon set up us the bomb! We get signal"
You: "What?!"
Consumer: "System Update menu turn on"
You: "It's you!"
Verizon: "How are you gentlemen? All your ICS are belong to us. Your phone is on the way to obsolescence."
You: "What you say?!"
Verizon: "Your phone has no chance to survive, buy the Galaxy S3. Ha ha ha!"

I got tired of waiting for the ICS update for the rezound so I went ahead and updated the leaked version. It runs incredibly fast and has a lot of cool new features. The main feature I noticed is although you still can't uninstall the verizon bloatware you can disable the verizon apps to where they don't run, update, or show up in your app drawer. There are also some things that are gone that I wish were still there such as if you wan't to see the desktop version of a site you have to check a box everytime you visit a site there is no way to turn off mobile view. I have seen issues that explain why they haven't sent out the OTA yet as well. Some apps when you move them to your sd card don't allow you use the widget anymore, it just disappears. There has also been a couple of times switching from wifi back to 4G that it shows no network and I have to reboot. Also every once in a while when opening a newly downloaded app the screen will go fuzzy for a couple of seconds. There were a few other little bugs I cant remember off the top of my head right now but all in all it runs amazing. I can't wait til the completed version comes out. The last thing I was going to mention is I have been able to use my phone with moderate to heavy use for about 10-12 hours a day since I updated it.

Thanks for your write-up... I am finally throwing in the towel -- downloading the update as we speak. My plan is to eventually root but hey, baby-steps! This will be fine for now. :)

Androidandme is reporting end of July for the update now, with a rollout into August

Will the official ics release be pushed aside by promises of a straight to jb upgrade by q1 '13?

Dang man, get some ICS first lol! VERY unlikely we get JB officially. In fact I'd say it's a big fat negative. For HTC, JB is meant to interface with Sense 4. HTC has no plans I've ever heard of to upgrade the Rezound from Sense 3.6. If you want jb you're gonna have to root or get a different phone.

Just look how long it's taken to get ICS!

I may or may not wait around for the official Update. I know for sure I am going to root once a stable JB ROM is out =D

Well ifyou can get. S off without htcdev... I won't root until I don't have to let HTC know I am rooted. All rooting requires HTC dev method and to get s off you need to short some pins... Seems very risky......

From what I have been reading, it appears that rooting now a days is rather safe and very easy. It's not like how it was in the early days, where you had to have some sort of programming knowledge and skill.
