Rezound Official ICS Update Shelved?

What do you call your OP? I would call it passive/aggressive whining and ing. I guess it is just in your nature.

Uhh, I wasn't the OP. My first post on this thread was about SurfingJerry being told. I thought we were forum friends, man? ='(

Uhhh, the Rezound hasn't commanded much of anything since its release. I mean have you seen a commercial, heard a Verizon rep say "Yeah the HTC Rezound, best hands down hardware we have available right now", maybe even seen a favorable review other than by one of us? The Rezound was engineered by wizards and sold by the village idiot.

On the update topic, the last official word was "later this year". Which in PR terms mean "You'll be lucky if it comes out this year". It's like your parents saying "maybe".

the funny thing is, the VZW stores here in my town were lukewarm to the Gnex, gave the obligatory Razr dog and pony show, but a couple admitted they owned a Rez as their personal phone. The folks at Both Buy stores in town all they talked about was the Rez.

So, in short you agree with me.
Look, I'm fine with GB, etc., really. And the hardware is great (not including battery life). It's all the bait and switch (mostly from VZ, it's true) that pisses me off.

Now they're doing the same shyte with the data plans.

Subject line is no different than the one where the poster included a screen shot of the ota screen saying no update available, and y'all lauded it as genius. At least I was trying to make a point,,, no one gives a crap except for us.

I don't really watch tv, but I did see two billboards for the rezound. I rarely see billboards for specific phones, so I was a bit surprised to see two for the rezound.

If the Fascinate is any precedent on how Verizon will handle this, I wouldn't expect ICS until 2013. I mean, it practically took an angry mob throwing their feces at store windows just to get updated to Froyo.

Shame too, because I think this is what I may upgrade to.

Yeah I know....bad day compounded with hating threads like thesis a bad combination. I really need just ignore them. They get me every time though because I think there might be something newsworthy.

For what it is worth, I still see us getting ICS sooner rather than later

This thread is more exciting than the other.

I think we would have more of a right to be pissed if we were to, say, buy a new Lumia, and find out windows phone 8 isn't gonna work on any WP7 phones. I'm not sure how development is on WP, but it seems crazy to me that Microsoft is not gonna update any phones.

I do want to bring back the uncontrolled ridiculous update statements. Just one?

I'M GONNA WALK BAREFOOT IN THE GYM LOCKER ROOM WITH ATHLETES FOOT IF I DON'T GET ICS NOW!!

I feel better.

Spoke with a Tech at HTC yesterday and according to him, 4.0 is ready to go for the Rezound and should be out by end of second quarter. He said it is now up to Verizon to push it out. Sounds like Big Red is sitting on it to sell some new phones that already have ICS loaded out of the box.

Yeah that makes PERFECT sense. No ICS and Foot fungus! You have HTC and Verizon right where you want them!

just kidding, I figured if I am going to be mean in a thread, and have hit others with shrapnel, I might as well keep the theme alive.

:-)

I spoke with a tech at HTC the other day too. According to him marshmallows only hunt at night, when they drink the blood of were-pigeons. You can ward them off by keeping a ripe banana peel in your underwear.

I don't know about you...but I think my HTC tech was more believable.

I went into my local Verizon store, threw myself on the ground, started kicking & screaming, "I WANT MY UPDATE NOW! I HATE YOU I HATE YOU! WHY DONT YOU LOVE ME?" All it got me was a timeout in the corner.

See? That figures. A Verizon agent told me that you actually needed orange peels, and Google was the one responsible for providing them.
It's always the run around with these guys.
