Rezound to Photon?

sorry to hear the maxx didnt work out its definitly not three seperate phones so its got to be poor coverage by verizon . does the maxx work ok everywhere else ? if it does great everywhere but your office you might try a network extender for your office and still get the good data everywhere else . but of course thats even more money .
Thanks. I am bummed. But I actually talked with a few people who weren't in the past couple of days. Apparently, they have Verizon and they don't get good coverage in our offices and have to step outside every time (not something I want to do every time), so it seems it IS a VZW issue.

Too bad, I've liked the Rezound AND the Maxx...but it's not meant to be. I feel bad that I have to go to a 6-month old phone (in today's tech world, that's ancient!), but I guess I'll switch to Photon. I have no idea how that phone works....meaning, whether it's a solid phone or not, but my alternative Android for Sprint is the GSII, which I owned, which sucked (the radio/anetnna)...so, either I give up Androids altogether (I don't want to!), or see how the Photon works.

With all my exchanges, I swear, I think I've paid for a full phone by now. Ridiculous.

As far as the network extender...we're not allowed because I work in a hospital environment and that might interfere with medical equipment, which is obvs way more important than phone reception.

Oh, and no...the Maxx has had the WORST call quality, compared with the Rezound, but I do believe that's due to reception, not the phone itself. It seems to not hold on to reception that well, while the Rezound was very good at it.

Oh, well.:-\

You could always go Sprint and use an older phone that you have until the Galaxy Nexus comes out for them?

The Nexus isn't coming out until July (and I already tried it on VZW). Iif I go back to Sprint, it will have to be on contract, so obviously I'd use the lowered phone price...but their phone options are just abysmal.

I saw the Photon in person - it's ugly!

Called VZW tonight and the tech person said she found some errors on my acct with signal, so she sent it to higher level tech. Supposed to hear back by Tues.

Meanwhile, the Razr Maxx has such a better screen than the Rezound - Netflix streams beautifully on it (on Wifi, at home). Would like to keep this phone...just hoping my signal issues is a VZW error, but somehow doubt it.

You work in a hospital environment, no wonder you don't get strong readings fron your office. That's like expecting an LTE signal, soaring the ftiendly skies on a DC 10 @ 44,000 ft. There's interference out the wazoo in environs like that.

Sorry your Maxx didn't work out. You'll hopefully have a good experience with the Photon. I'm finding it to be a great phone. Good battery life with great reception. Hope your experience with it is as good as mine.

True, but I also wasn't getting much signal out on the streets of the same city, as well. Calls kept dropping.

I would be thinking 2 things. First, is Verizon still giving people the home network extender for people with no coverage in their house? In the past I think they have done this for people.

If you are dead set on leaving..... why the photon, and not the galaxy s2?

I believe they still do this, and why not? They extend their network through your internet connection for free.

Razr has a more vibrant screen, but also over saturated. Of course some people prefer this. Netflix runs in hd on the Maxx, I don't believe the rezound supports hd netflix.

A bit odd since the Rezound is the model with the HD screen. :/

Not really, they use different technology. Moto uses super amoled, htc uses slcd. The hd screen vs qHD means that the rezound has a higher resolution. The rezound is sharper than the Maxx. But the Maxx is more vibrant and oversaturated. It depends on what you do. I usually browse the web with pages that aren't heavily image laden and email, and so the rezound to me is the better choice since it is sharper. What is better for me might not be important to others. I know people who like to keep screen at low resolution on the computer monitor on lcd which makes the text fuzzy and annoying as hell to me, but they like it that way. I tried to put the optimal resolution, and they didn't like it.

It doesn't look oversaturated to me, just really crisp and clear. But as you said, Maxx runs it in HD (didn't know that) and the difference, next to the Rezound, is HUGE. Once I saw that, I thought, noooooo...don't make me have to give this up.

As for a network extender...I get decent reception at home. It's work that is the issue and they won't allow that there. Then again, even on the streets, I couldn't make calls that didn't drop there, so who knows.

Also, wanted to add...I got great call reception in the hospital with my Sprint - loss of data reception is why I switched to VZW. Apparently, making calls with VZW is not the best in the hospital.

Also, maybe I mentioned this already (I was very sleepy last night), but tech support said she saw 259 dropped calls out of 476 attempts in 24 hours. I said, excuse me...I only made 5 calls yesterday....WTF is 476?!! I'd have to be dialing every second! So she looked at the numbers being dialed and said, omg, they are a bunch of ##7(some other numbers, too) codes, going in/coming out from your phone every minute. I was like, WTH is that? She said she had no idea and escalated the issue to higher tier tech support. We're supposed to touch base Monday about it. But...WTH?!

question for you how many bars did you have consistantly on the street ?? cause if i have at least one bar steady I hardly ever drop A call ?

ive never had NO issues dropping a call with 1 to 2 bars NEVER i think something else is going on on your account cause that makes no sense . in your office i can understand but on the street no that dont sound right .

Approx 1 call every 3 minutes over a 24 hour period? That's beyond bizarre... This is getting curiousor and curiousor... Did the tech give you any idea what the ##7 code means?

She had no ideas and said it was beyond the scope of her expertise. She added that in all her 4 years there, she had never seen anything like it. I'm just special, I guess.. *rolling eyes*
