Rezound vs Galaxy Nexus

Funny, in the comments on those reviews are users switching from the Nexus to the Rezound.

lol

I'm of the same stock, so I can understand the comment sections. One time rental became the top performer, never looked back upon release. Extended return period turned out to be a blessing.

Or you could just look at the pictures like a normal human being, ignore the words, and judge for yourself. The pictures don't lie, and the Rezound is a distant third to the iPhone and SII.

See that's the problem. All along you've been saying "these reviews say the Rezound is 3rd best" etc etc, when it's been your personal opinion the whole time.

So when you say "the reviews say the Rezound is 3rd best", you are in effect lying. If you say "in my personal opinion the Rezound is 3rd best" then that is fine.

And looking at the files from the phoneareana "review" I'm actually willing to wager that the Rezound camera's white balance is set to cloudy, which from my experience produces those reddish hues present in the pictures.

Interesting thing is, at any given moment, any one of these phones can produce a pic that beats the others. Yet all of them look like crud when compared to the beast Sony Ericcson is gonna release on AT&T next year. Just sayin'

Is anyone else tired of reading all this bickering. Obviously Droid800 has very strong opinions as to which is the "best" phone. But we al know that when it comes to phones, "best" is subjective based on our own personal perception and needs. A spirited debate is fine, but this is starting to drone on and on. Just saying.

Ultimate phone judge here.......I declare a tie....because my nexus keeps dropping calls, I no longer fight for it, and quite frankly, I am considering taking it back. I think this unit is defective, and at this point would rather have a solid phone. The rezound is to chunky butt to consider though.

lol, I personally don't like boney butt, I like a little junk in the trunk. Something that feels good when I grab it.:)

I think we are of the same philosophy, it needs to feel good to grab, and my sexy iPhone wins that game every day.....unless my favorite woman is in my hands, then all cell phones feel like cold little computers, bleh.

Opinions are fine. Projecting opinions as if they are objective fact is not.

The nexus being a "developer" phone is well known in the android community. I'm surprised that this seems like news to you
I am sure it will be news to the non-nerds who bought the phone based on the advertising. Imperfections that nerds would expect and put up with are probably going to be a lot more annoying to average people who are expecting a polished mainstream product that is advertised.

I think most android forum members are more well informed than the average cell phone salesperson in a carrier store.
And fanboys and haters are part of the reason for that IMO. That was why I came here when I was shopping for a new phone. The advertising for the Nexus (or any other phone) will not tell me the whole story and the Verizon sales people are braindead idiots 99% of the time.

"VS" threads highlight the assets and flaws of each phone so I can better make a decision.

For what it's worth: I had the GN for 6 days, returned it for the Rezound and have been very happy. In my opinion the Rezound is a better all around device.

I have a question about these 2 phones. I just left the verizon store where I played around with both phones. The Rezound, RAZR, and the Nexus were all side by side by side. All 3 phones had the speedtest app installed. I am in the Oklahoma city area and while on 4g the Rezound scored 10-12 on the download every time. The RAZR did almost the same maybe just a little less. The Nexus would only score 6.5 Max with the average of around 5. Is this test/app accurate? Does it really mean anything? I went with the intention of buying the Nexus and I do like the looks of its screen the best. Now I'm still l

Yea, there's widespread reports of a signal issue with the GN. Some hold hope that it can be fixed with a software patch.

If the screen is a big factor in your purchase decision, I'd eliminate the RAZR as it's got the worst of the 3.

An easy way to help you compare the phones on a technical level is to use Phone Arena - Phone News, Reviews and Specs

Compare phones: Samsung GALAXY Nexus CDMA, HTC Rezound, Motorola DROID RAZR

That compares the specifications of the 3 phones you were looking at.

In order to determine which phone is good for you, you'd need to ask yourself a few things:

1. Do you like the idea of or need a removable battery?
2. Do you use removable storage (microSD)?
3. Do you want a screen that is physically bigger, or do you want a screen with better clarity?
4. The signal issue: Do you think the slower signal speed of the GN would affect you so much?
5. Updates: If you get the GN, are you okay with having both the most frequent updates, and most frequent software bugs?
6. Do you frequently use the phone to play media?

If you answer yes to both #1 & 2, then go with the Rezound.

Yeah, thats a known issue. There is a huge thread on it right now:

http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...u-really-experience-signal-issue-your-gn.html

It is speculation at this point if it is really a hardware issue or can be fixed with software. But the consensus seems to point to hardware. Not all GN users are experiencing it, but most of the ones on this forum are.

That link is not entirely accurate. Here are a few corrections:

The Rezound does have a panorama mode. The Rezound has the highest pixel density. The Rezound comes with a pre-installed 16 gig SD Card (and I think the Razr does as well). The battery life on the GN is a little generous to say the least (12 hours?? LOL!). 1080p video on the GN is not 30fps...it is 24fps.

I think it is telling that the PA rating is higher for the GN, but the USER rating is higher on the Rezound, lol.

The RAZR was out, just testing for the heck of it..
The "signal issue", does it apply to voice and data or just data?
If those scores are accurate then the rezound is twice add fast.. Can that really be tweaked out with software?
