Rezound vs Galaxy Nexus

Geeeeezeee. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I went and played with a Rezound for 30 minutes or so tonight, and think I could live with Sense and the slightly smaller screen. The biggest thing I want is the camera, though. The Nexus' isn't completely terrible, but the Rezound's is so so much better.

So right now I'm torn. They're both great devices, and I like them both. I'm finding it difficult to decide which one I want to spend the next year with. I miss the old days, when Verizon only had one or two great devices to choose from. :-\

I think we all obsess too much over phones. I fired up my old rooted/Rom'd DroidOG recently to compare signal strength....and was surprised how much I liked the screen and responsiveness and thought I could still be happy with this phone. The stock version was slow but when you OC it, it was very responsive. I'm gonna keep the Rezound stock for awhile till I get bored and then go the rooted path like I did with my previous phones. Bottom line though is that your phone has got to be a phone first and if your signal sucks it ain't much good.

Did you watch HD video on the Rezound screen?

See I've never dropped a call or had major signal issues that aren't due to my area. So it comes down to features like the camera, etc.

No. Watched it on the nexus though and that was good.

If you go play with them again, watch some HD content on the Rezound (use either the HD videos stored on the phone or the Watch app to stream a HD movie trailer). You won't regret it :)

Haha. I just keep going back and forth on what I want to do. The only way I'd be totally happy is if I was able to own them both.

I have to say it was a pretty hard decision. I was still trying to make up my mind when the clerk asked me what I wanted. I ended up with the Rezound, and it's a great device, but I'll always wonder what could've been with the Nexus. Although, CM9 might make me stop wondering.

Exchanged my Galaxy Nexus for the Rezound a few days ago. There is no turning back. Much as I liked ICS, it wasn't enough to offset the terrible signal problems I had with the GNex.

Now I am working on trying to squeeze as much battery life out of the Rezound as I can with the standard battery.

You're not missing out on anything. The Nexus is nice, but there are issues. Sure updates may fix these issues, but there's a good chance they won't. ICS is what makes that phone, nothing else.

Is the camera on the Nexus that bad? I have taken over 50 pics with my Nexus and cant find a reason to complain!!! Whats the issue everybody is experiencing?

I think so. My photos were always out of focus & grainy. They just always looked like poo. My wife's Rezound, my daughters DInc2 & my Charge both take better pics than the Nexus. Sad but true.

Yea I really haven't had much issues with the camera on the nexus, it is a little more finicky in darker situations but I found it to be pretty good as long as I steady my hands

Well I guess it varies from user to user but one thing for sure I happy with my Nexus over the Rezound hands down...

I guess the problem is that the charge and rezound are so much better that its impossible for the nexus to compete.

Oh and I still have no clue what I'm going to do. Every time I think I have made my decision something changes my mind again.

Hello , i only registered to post about my swap , i went first on release day for Nexus Galaxy ( after a 2 months of angry waiting time ) , i had several problems with the Nexus from the first day , i really really wanted to keep the phone as i loved the screen , imo the screen is better than the Rezound screen but i had to much problems with the nexus , first it was 3g/4g weak downloads and low ability to lock on 4G network ( also weaker downloads than my OG Moto Droid in 3G network , strange stuff ) , second phone rebooted at least 5 times a day by himself and it locked my phone 3 times on reboot with the locked PUK code or something like this , had to call verizon for code to be able to use the phone again , battery is pure crap to.
Got the rezound , really fast 4G/3G (some amazing 4G speeds and fast lock on network ) , camera is far far superior , phone feel better in hand and lis build better , Beats headset are nice , screen is very nice , SENSE for me is pure crap but still , even with sense the phone feel faster than Nexus (at least for me) .A lot of crap apps on Rezound , very hard to digest this after a pure&clean Android 4.0 ice cream sandwich .
Only thing where Nexus slightly better imo (small notch) is the screen and ICS , still ,...the rezound screen is very very nice to .
I love the Rezound and will keep the phone.

The nexus is the reason why 0 shutter lag is a bad idea. It Takes the pictures instantly without giving you time to focus. Only way to get a perfect shot is to have it on a stabilizing stand. The rezound is awesome. Imo it's the best spec'd phone Verizon has ever had. And i never make a purchase on just software. Especially when it comes to adnroid because you can get that same OS on almost any phone. I know ICS won't be stock when we get it. But once we get ICS Roms. I won't see any reason to get the Nexus.

Also, many people have Roms on the Nexus anyways. If your gonna root and run roms on your phone. What's the big deal? Only benefit to the Nexus imo is that it has a larger dev backing and Roms are aplenty. But i have no problem being patient.

And this is from a Nexus user who owened the rezound, Launch day Nexus, and is back on the Rezound.
