That's referring to the international version. They get it first, and the carrier versions have to wait for the carriers. Technically you weren't promised anything.

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

I know a lot of people are waiting anxiously for it and I'm curious as to what feature(s) it brings to the table that you are really waiting. for. I've had it on my Nexus 7 for some time now and it really had made little if any difference to me.

I have it on my nexus 4 and it made a big difference for me ; I hate it lol. Battery stats suck more than ever, it takes more effort to change settings that used to be right there in quick settings etc.

Thankfully the leak videos that have been floating around look different than stock Google stuff. Agree with you though, its almost as if people are awaiting the next messiah lol. I'm sure once the update hits there will be lots of posts about how disappointing it was.

Re: HERE MAPS

is here maps a crowd-sourced mapping solution, will definetly try it

It's not crowd-sourced, it's Nokia. They supply mapping data to a lot of companies. HERE maps is a great offline mapping system. It started on Symbian, then it was Windows Phone exclusive, then added iOS and have finally come out with something for Android which is very nice.

There are countries missing in the system but the app is very nice and it syncs with their website for favourites. The transport and driving part are great.

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

March is a good estimate, but then again, it'll probably take forever for all the carriers to release it. The impatience is real.

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

I am in no rush for the update. Let them take their time and get it right.

The amount of threads that will pop up after the release about how this and that doesn't work... I can live without it.

Before we know it M will be available. I know they have to perfect it...but we were promised it by now.

What's so wrong with the current firmware?

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

Once we get it, almost nothing will be different anyway because of Touchwiz. I'm excited for it but I also am in no rush. Basically we'll get loads of bugs with a few new features and nothing groundbreaking. I'm fine with my Note the way it is running the Google Now Launcher.

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

I wouldn't want them to rush it. I would rather all bugs be sorted out then get it.

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

I want the update just so I can get regain some functionality out of my 128GB SD card that KitKat removed.

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

So far, it has gone through two updates, from 5.0 to 5.0.1 to 5.0.2, it seems. By the time it's finally released, in general, it'll be 5.0.9 or 5.1. ;-)

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

Maybe around s6 is release, we get Lollipop. lol

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

I don't know about how L works on Nexus phones, but 5.0.1 works just fine on my Nexus 7. It's faster and I have great battery life. If whatever version finally gets to my Note 4,and it works as good, I'll be ecstatic. So, hopefully, they'll get it right.

I have no problem with the current. My Note 4 is fine.

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

There's only one feature in the lollipop update I'm looking forward too and that's the ambient display. Loved the active notifications on the motor and droid turbo and ambient display is just that on steroids.

Re: getting really impatient about Android L

My Moto G 2014 just got 5.0.2 today. My Note 4 arrives Thursday

I liked Lollipop on Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, but I have no problem with Kitkat on my Note4. I enjoyed the ambient display but don't need it. I liked the smart lock but car mode on the Note does almost the same thing for me. I'm using Nova prime because it looks so much better than what was on the phone when I got it and I'll probably keep using it when Lollipop arrives anyway. It will be interesting to see what Samsung does with Lollipop. This is my first Samsung device so I'm still getting used to the added functions. But the battery, camera, Sview cover and the screen sure make me happy just the way it is.
