If I have hboot 1.5 and my phone unlocked the HTC way running cleanrom 2.5... Will I lose wifi if I update to this without doing anything else? Of am I OK because I have already gone this far? I seem to remember something about v2.5 to 2.6 that made me think upgrading to it would be a pain?

I am not really sure how all of this works or why exactly I would not be able to update to this version by simply flashing the new rom. Thanks.

2.5 and 2.7 have different kernels. It would be recommended to also flash the new kernel. It only adds 5 minutes to the process.

Ok. So can I for example: Flash the simple kernel thing Scott posted that works for hboot 1.5 and then flash this rom? Or do I need to do something much more involved than that because I have hboot 1.5.

I just see the warnings that I will lose 4G and wifi. But when I follow the links for the "you will lose wifi unless you do this" (there are four options on the page) it looks like all it is telling you to do is unlock with the HTC version. But I am not sure if it is telling me to use a specific kernel or not?

Okay I do appreciate the No Ad aspect of this ROM, along of course of battery life, but with the ads being blocked, you cannot watch videos that start with embedded ads at the beginning or anywhere in the video clip. Is there another option available to stop ad blocking only in the apps and not inside web browsers? The No-Ad mod is an all-in-one solution to allow ads. Any thoughts?

Ya I defiantly have cleanrom 2.5 already installed on my phone. The problem I have is that after 2.5 it looks like I may have to do something different to my phone or I will lose wifi when I upgrade to 2.7. The link you posted looks like what I had already gone through to get cleanrom 2.5 on my phone. I don't know if the wifi warning was from the original cleanrom (meaning I am all set to upgrade because I have cleanrom 2.5 and still have wifi) OR if the version higher than 2.5 requires me to do something different than I have already done.

In short I guess:
If I have cleanrom 2.5 installed on my EVO 3D with hboot 1.5 with the HTC unlock method. What do I need to do to flash cleanrom 2.7? Am I wrong or don't I already have a custom recovery already installed? Is there something EXTRA I have to do to my phone to get 2.7 on that I didn't have to do to get 2.5?

Sorry to ask so many questions. But I have learned to be POSITIVE before you do this stuff. I usually leap before I look but I am trying to stop! lol

Not sure if this will help that Scott put together - [RESOLVED!] - WiFi / Tether / 4G issues! - looks like if you had no issues with 2.5 then you should have issues with 2.7 as 2.5 had a custom kernal too. I am on DE since it came out so I forgot.

You should already have a recovery when you rooted to be able to flash the 2.5 you are on now. The links just give you directions to flash ROMS on 1.5. Do you not have recovery?

I have no idea to be honest. I can boot into the white screen with the android on the skateboard but if I try to boot into recovery (following the video in link you posted) I get a red triangle with an exclamation point in it! But I DO have superuser installed and working.

How did you flash 2.5 without recovery? Can you do a nandroid? If so, you have recovery. If not, you need to flash a recovery.

How did you flash 2.5 without recovery? Can you do a nandroid? If so, you have recovery. If not, you need to flash a recovery.

The instructions were for another rom so I just downloaded and used cleanrom instead. I had to do it all from command though. I think I flashed the whole thing from my pc.

I think I will just try Scott's easy TWRP program and then try to flash cleanrom 2.7 and hope I don't lose wifi. It won't kill me if I lose it for a bit.

Because you are on hboot 1.5, you will have to enter your bootloader using adb.

I just Rooted my 3D via HTC since I was stuck on 1.50, went well, installed Clean Rom 2.7, followed steps for themes and add ons but no luck on customization or getting to those settings, also not able to find Beats Audio...CRT is the only add on I see, I go to check now & nothing, point me in the right direction
