[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

haha.... yes... it's open game for calling me names when I make a dumb mistake like that! lol

I think I am going to flash Comavolt and give it a try... I have always been happy with it. Want to learn more about Voltage Control before I start playing around with the OTB Kernel.

I am assuming you are using the ED01 radio that came with the ROM? Or did you flash back to EC01?

went from EB01 stock to ED01 community Rom ,,i have no understanding about radios etc other than it being the ability to be a modem.. wish it was called what it is.. same GPS prob as before.. i'll no more when i get out tomorrow if it aint raining or scorching hot..

ok.. earlier today i was hanging by my threads so outta wack some.. yes i am fully debloated deoxed whatever .had a verizon something or other an djust opened the app control and deleted it.. ..
tinkered some with ph and found i like it fairly well, much better than anything i had before.. fast is what fast is.. if i cant keep up then its fast.. locks on fairly quick to GPS but is always a few feet off the few times i checked it and i like the idea of being able to adjust the voltage.. so what more can be said except ,, bring on the kink fixes and my 2 years will be up and i'll still be on my fascinate..

i have one pressing question.. i have a 32 bit sd card in the slot and it somehow has taken 10 GB from me.. it had taken most before the update..how can i retrive the extra GB's as i dont want any fragments in my way

Bluetooth issues

I've been running 2.9.2 for the last couple weeks and just got started with my facinate back in Febuary. I have to say this rom was a breeze to install even though i had never done anything with voodoo before. I used odin to install the ec01 radio... downloaded the com rom zipfile to my sd card, wiped cache and d cache, and used cwm to flash it just like everyone on this thread described... everything went as smooth as could be. I was actually suprised how fast the install actually went.

I backed up (exported) all my contacts, sms, and apps... but nothing except my call logs and history was touched...

The only issue that i seem to be having is that my bluetooth headset no longer seems to work. It says it is paired, I even deleted it and repaired it... but when i make a call it does not connect with the phone no matter what i do. I see the bluetooth icon in the info bar... and the dialer / call screen shows that bluetooth is on... but its not connecting with the phone. Has anyone else dealt with this issue, or have any ideas?

Ok. First off, this thread is insane, as usual, for a new major ROM release.

There seems to be some confusion on how to get the stock Android keyboard back. There are 2 files required for it, which you can extract from any deodexed ROM's zip such as SC:

/system/app/LatinIME.apk
/system/lib/libjni_latinime.so

Next, you need to remove ime-mtm-stock-gingerbread.apk from /system/app on your phone, as it also uses the libjni_latinime.so file.

Then, copy or adb push the 2 files you pulled from your deodexed ROM's zip to there proper folders and reboot. Before you try to use it after you boot up, go to Settings > Language & Keyboard and configure it as wished.

Finally, go to any text input field (text message) and long press to choose the input method and select Android keyboard.

Enjoy.
Thanks Killah. Question though: how do I extract these files? I found the SO file on the droid forums, assuming they're all the same? But if not, I couldn't find how to pull files out of a ROM. Everything else I'm OK with :)

A few questions before i start:

If I do a data wipe (which i know i should) will that wipe anything on my sd card? Or just the system drive?

Second question...I'm coming from the new froyo (ED01?) Once i use CWM to flash the com rom do i need to do anything with the radio?

Then i use CWM to flash the patch right?

Only data on your internal drive will be affected. The radio will not be effected when you flash this ROM. Whatever radio you have before flashing will stick. You would use CWM to flash this

and my cwm is blue, and says 3e, does that seem right? I keep seeing ppl say red.

(and i don't actually see an advanced in the menu to wipe DALVIK cache or backup/restore)

edit: nm needed to odin the correct cwm

Are you sure you installed CwM correctly? Blue is the color of stock recovery if my memory serves me right.

You can flash JT1134's .Tar file here via ODIN and you should be good to go. Remember ALWAYS USE THE PDA BUTTON...

I came from 2.9.2 and went down to DL09, up to EA28 through update.zip, up to ED01 through update.zip, and then flashed Community Rom. This says Voodoo based, but it's listed as just a Rom. I know my Modem is ED01, and I know my Rom is the Community Rom, but what kernel am I running? Is there one actually built in to the Community Rom, and if so, then what is it?

I'm playing around with the built in Voltage App, but I'm wondering if I'm able to change anything. I remember reading about needing an underclocked kernel to be able to actually underclock. Do I need one to flash one of the ED01 kernels from the Themes / Roms / Kernels thread, and if so, which one will allow my changes in the Voltage App to actually be applied? Thanks in advance. I know it's a lot, but if someone could shed some light on this subject for me, it'd really help.
