Thanks... I actually have used shootme before. I just like being able to hold the back and power button instead of going through an app... that's all

i hated that feature, always did it when wasnt trying to...

Hold down volume up, volume down, and power buttons until you see samsung logo flash for second time. As soon as you see samsung for second time, let go of all three buttons. This will boot you directly to CWM. Scroll to mounts and storage, make sure it says unmount in front of the top four - system, data, dbdata, & I can't remember what the 4th is. Then hit menu soft key to go back one page, scroll to advanced, power button, scroll to fix permissions, power button, wait for it to finish. Menu soft key back to the main cwm page, power button to reboot. See if you get FC.

Is there a fix to use the back button when opening up the contacts. Right now if I open up my contacts I cannot back out to my home screen. Im not sure if anyone else has this problem or if Im just an idot. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I got confused. I thought you were the person who originally asked the question. Someone asked how they could get the sms app from superclean 2.9. I don't think it is necessarily all that better, I think it has more to do with the coloring of the sms app in the community ROM.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet... Does this ROM/Kernel have the mod allowing you to use apps like wireless tether without being monitored or blocked?

I haven't had the chance to flash the community rom yet, but before when this issue arose all you had to do was delete the contacts shortcut, reboot your phone, and create it again. Hope that works for you!

Long press on the contacts icon, choose change shortcut, choose applications, choose phone, choose default icon. Click on phone icon, click back soft key. Long press on that same phone icon, change shortcut, applications, contacts, default icon, click icon, try back button. If that doesn't work, then hit menu soft key and go settings=>applications=>manage applications=>all=>launcher pro and clear data This worked for me when i was having the problem, Thanks to sharky for this a while back

DITTO! I love this feature! Figured I'd +1 to it. It's so much better than having to have an additional app for it. Just sayin'.

Where can I get the ad blocking hosts file that was in superclean? Ad free just doesn't work as well.

If you have not done a factory reset to install this ROM, I highly reccomend it.

I first installed it directly over SC 2.9.2 with just cache/dalvic wipes... and it worked great. However, I decided I wanted to try out the ED01 radio.

So I went back to stock Eclair and got the ED01 radio by following Adrynalyne's post: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...t-ed01-official-froyo-quickly.html#post841769

Flashed CWM ALL 3-30 FIX

Rooted via CWM (following DroidXcon's post: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-remove-system-apps-other-how.html#post700079)

BE SURE TO USE THE CWM FLASH TO ROOT... I had to go start over because at first I ODIN'd a rooted SC ROM to get root... but, not thinking, I lost the ED01 radio and went back to EB01... DUH!

After that:

- factory Reset/Data Wipe
- flashed the Com ROM
- rebooted
- flashed 1.1 Patch

.... and viola... everything is GREAT!

Battery Life = AWESOME! (9 hours and 20 min unplugged and I have 67% left... that is with GPS on the whole time and moderate to hevay usage)

anyway... just wanted to share me thoughts... thanks again to everyone who helped make this possible!

I am in the process of giving this a try.... not sure if I should thank you yet.

.tar file is a compressed file kinda like a .rar file. Open it with a program like winrar or 7-zip. Look for your file within then extract it out.

i opened "EB16SC29_DXC.tar.md5" in WinRar and all it shows is:

dont see a system folder to get the app out of

Cursor on it, hold left click, drag and drop onto sd card, then use file manager such as root explorer or astro file manager to move it from the base of the sd card to the system app/folder.

sorry for not being familar with this but what do i do after dropping it into the system/app folder?
