Moving it to the /system/app folder and not installing it totally worked. Thanks Landshark!
I reflashed the community ROM 1.0 and 1.2 to get rid of a theme and it screwed up my contacts icon. I followed these instructions but I still have the problem.. I can't use the back button to get out of them. Any other ways to fix this?
The problem seems to be with the contacts application itself.. when I click on the icon in the App drawer I get the same problem.

i just flashed over to community rom and it works great. just one problem. i cant use back up assistant? it just FC's and reboots me? any ideas, i have no contacts.

Now flash either the 1.1 patch or the 1.2 patch. They have the setup wizard (and backup assistant) fix in them. Good luck.
There is a patch in the original post to get backup assistant... Adry noted you will get FC and reboot with out installing the patch

I didn't realize you would also be flashing the ROM also. Yes, flashing the ROM will reset your homescreen settings. Flashing just the patch does not.

I've had several friends tell me that when I text them longer texts messages, they are constantly getting random @@@@@@@@@ symbols. They mainly show when the text sends as multiple messages and the @@@@@@ symbols pop up when the text is broken up. Kinda like this:
1/3: Hey whats up check this co
2/3
@@@@@@@@@@
3/3: ol thing out @@@@@
When all i said was, "hey check this cool thing out" (granted this is just a short example. A real text is several "text pages" long)

Note to self: All you need to do is just repeat a good answer that someone else gives. That's how all these people get their "thanked" up.

I didn't want to post this here, as the package came from XDA originally... (credit to NitroGlycerine from the EvilFascination ROM) but I could not find it here. This is a package for Nuance Voice Commands compatible with ED01. It says Edify compatible, but I flashed it with CWM 3-30_all and had no issues. I tried using Adrynalyne's patch from SuperClean, but it would force close. I have since loaded Nitro's, and it works like a charm.

This is only for handcent tho. I dont have the simple split option for the stock mms app. or im being silly and cant find it
