[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

Just flashed this after running the SC roms for the last couple months (Came from SC 2.9.2 NV).

I feel very comfortable flashing in ODIN and CWM, even have my wife running SC2.9.2 NV but had not run voodoo to this point. It was easy and seems to have worked after flashing the COM ROM. However I have a couple of concerns.

1. Heard the robot chick talk during first boot after flashing, but that was the only time. Rebooted a couple of times since and have not heard it, is that normal?

2. After flashing 1.2 and booting all my apps started downloading from the market like a flood, I take it the auto download is back? Has this happened to everyone else.

3. Battery life still seems to be horrendous, stats have been wiped but its sucking down about 10% an hour so far. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Edit: That 10% an hour is sitting here on my desk barely being touched btw

Just thought I would add to Theot on #2. I just reflashed Comm ROM onto my phone after having it torn down to try and make ODIN packages. I had the auto restore unchecked and when I want to the Market and looked at my apps, they were all trying to download. So my guess would be whatever Adrynalyne had in or did to SC 2.9.2 is not in Comm ROM or it is not working. Definitely a major PITA.

Ok - been waiting long enough to ask this... Other phones (my buddy's incredible for sure) have this option, but I haven't seen it in any patch, add-on, or eye-candy. Is there some feature/process that would allow us to be able to add/remove/reorganize the shortcuts that are at the top of the pull down in the notification bar? The Thunderbolt comes with that built in. I'm just wondering if there's anything that I could do to be able to get that.

Thanks in advance for anyone that could shed ANY light on this issue for me.

There are only a few ways I know of to change the icons in the top of the pull down notificaton bar (just fyi, that row of icons is called the quick panel.) One would be to learn how to theme so you know how to change the icons. The second would be to check out the themes and flash a theme that has icons you like in the quick panel. You could always put in a request to the devs to see about changing it, but I think for now they would rather spend time fixing any bugs anyone has found. Sorry I can't be of more assistance, but that is all I know for now.

I did the DL09>EA28>ED01 load today to obtain the ED01 radio and opted not to use the set up wizard at the end of the process.. - I did not get the auto restore besieging..
I did not uncheck the auto restore box..
I loaded up CommROM let it boot - rebooted into recovery and flashed CWM 3 and the v1.2 patch.. still no swamping..

that is very odd..

Sorry guys. Rule is, no more than 4 stickies per sub forum. I'm not sure who stickied it, but I gotta take it down. Luckily, its a popular enough thread that it will stay on the first page :)

Well if you can do it as a Moderator you can pull my ODIN thread down and put this thread in the stickys. I am having a little trouble getting the Comm ROM ODIN package to work for now, so this thread is definitely more important. My latest thought process centers around the stock ED01 kernel I was using in the package. When I get home from work tonight I am going to try a package that includes times_infinity's nonvoodoo ComaVolt kernel and see if that works. In the meantime I think the Fascinate forums would be better served having this thread stickied. Thanks.

my usb not recognized problem went away without warnning, now my pc can find it again. but since it was down i did not pay any attention to getting back to stock for the new "radio/modem" .. I did flash the comm rom and the 1.2 update ..my question is do i have the new radio/modem with that? if not would it be worth the trouble to odin everything on to my phone to get it?

I gave barnicle a try as well and then checked myverizon profile, it did not add mobile sharing to my plan so I think wifi tethering is untracked.

Sorry, I should add that the mass restore of the apps did not seem to start until I downloaded Titanium Backup from the market. Or at least that's when I noticed it because after I downloaded TiBu I went to My apps in the market and saw they were all trying to download.

Does this Kernel support Boot Sounds? I tried to load a sound into the etc file, but it did not work.

Is there a special place to set this up in Voodoo?

The com rom nor the patch include a radio..you'll be on whatever radio you had when you flashed the com rom..(you can check this in settings-about phone-baseband version (blah blah blah..EDO1, EB01, DL09, etc etc)

I OTA'd to get to the ED01 radio and can't say there is a major difference between it and EC01 radio..I don't use navigation or gps much, but when I have it works well. EC01 I would say is just fine..and much easier to get..

The battery for me is still tangible as I am using my phone much more than normal. Still getting things put back together after data wipe/factory reset..

In a day or two I'll go back to normal use and be able to judge the battey a little better.. until then I can't say the ED01 radio is draining the battery less.

hope that helps:)

haha..no problemo friend..don't let me discourage you from reading through the forums though..there is a lot of good info...a lot of bloat, like posts like these () but there are also some great answers and work arounds..

Don't think so..saw in a couple post somewhere it wasn't compatible.. ED01 Crysis Revolution looks very nice though..might give that a look..

Just loaded it, it's not overly themed and looks pretty damn sweet. I was just reading elsewhere though that someone made a themed swype and it's in .zip form but is not update.zip form if that makes sense. He says it's an APK but when I unzip there is just random files and folders, no APK. How would you suppose this theme would be applied?

If it's simply a zip file, you flash it in cwm like any other zip file.

It does not support boot sounds (PowerOn.wav)..

And being a voodoo kernel does not help.. sorry.

On my 2nd charge since flashing the commROM... 36hrs with 20% left on normal usage... Gonna charge up right now and patch 1.2. Awesome job as always, devs!
