[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

2.9.2 Super Clean, haha.
What do you mean about voodoo? I enabled lagfix.

Are you still stuck on the samsung logo?..if so do a battery pull and try booting up again..if you get stuck on sammy logo a second time battery pull/replace and try to boot directly into cwm...once in recovery I would wipe data/factory reset (WILL wipe all your contacts, sms, etc..just know that before you do it, if you don't it may be okay but not sure), wipe cache's and reflash comm romm v1.0...and ensure that lagfix is enabled in voodoo..boot the phone all the way..

I already did that, haha. I'll just wait for a new version or a odin premade version. :P

so is your phone working ? no? don't need it?

I was going to say your other option is to disable lagfix..reboot..then flash the sc2.9 ODIN package to get you back to 2.9...

sorry I couldn't be more help man..

If the contact is just "sync'd" from facebook, twitter some other account it won't show up in sms, phone, etc..just in the contacts.. (however it should if it from a literal picture you took and have on your sdcard somewhere)

You have to go through the arduous task of actually "joining" the contact to the account you have (fb for me) and they'll start showing up everywhere.. if there is another way of doing it, let me know, but I've spent hours trying to figure it out and this is the only way I can find..

as far as the other issue..I'm not sure..sounds like the dreaded SLEEP of Death from EB01.. could have to do with voltage settings.. or could do with data you've restored from an app or something.. or ten zillion other things.. if it isn't continuing to do it, I wouldn't worry about it.. : )
Not to discount what you are saying, but "Google Contacts" is exactly what it implies, contacts from my Google account, pictures and data. They aren't from FB or other secondary programs.

I have installed no less than 7-8 different roms under the Superclean runs and never had this problem. I have had 3 different Android phones under 2 carriers and this had not been a problem. Within seconds of activating a new phone or installing a new rom, the pictures and contacts are there. It seems like it is one of the first things that Android syncs when starting up.

They are there now, as I had stated, click on contact list on my phone and run from A-Z, they are all there. Something happens however when a call is placed, for a split second the correct picture appears, then switches to the Android robot, which never happened before. When someone calls me, their picture stays throughout the duration of the call.

They changed that issue in the patching. As long as you flash the patch you won't have that problem, it became just fine to see.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I sue my phone outside a fair amount and it's hard enough to see it when not themed.

Though, one problem i still do have, is that I cannot for the life of me get my phones vibration settings to work on an incoming text. It seems like it is stuck on a silent mode while a ringing tone works. Right now the settings are silent mode is checked, whenever i uncheck it it does a sound for a text, which is not what i want. and the vibrate setting is set to only in silent mode, can someone please help fix this annoying problem, other than that, this rom is legit.

go into messaging, then hit the menu key, go into settings, scroll to the bottom and check the vibrate box(where is says also vibrate when notified) ...hope this helps

This sounds like the problem I had. I went back through the whole data wipe/factory reset process and reinstalled everything again and now my contacts are fine. It also fixed some lagging I had going from landscape to portrait and some FC's and some SOD's. So the reinstall process worked great for me.

I will keep that in mind, however this install was from a completely fresh Original 2.1, OTA EA28, OTA 2.2 then flashed Com rom 1.0, flashed 1.1. I have played that game before and it is a pain, so unless I see something concrete that indicates that would fix it, I will be waiting on the sidelines...

After installing this ROM I had very odd problems from very short battery life (5hrs), random system crashes/reboots, to writing to the SD card failing then freezing system. After doing allot of testing I hunted the problem down to the Voltage Control module. I never made any changes nor did I ever turn it on outside of just opening it once to see what it was. Because of this I'm thinking that on some systems it starts by default. Once I forced closed and cleared out all setting of the Voltage Control module my battery life has increased where I can get through nearly two days without having to recharge and the system crashes/reboots have stopped.
Based on the above, is there a way to completely remove this module? And also where can I find the Verizon Visual Voice Mail module? I've tried Google Voice but I find the Verizon module easier.

I had this exact issue. I though my battery had crapped out so I went and bought another one but that of course didn't help. I finally had to switch roms but I really want this one to work. How did you track down the cause? I was trying to but my phone powers are still developing :)

Hey no problem man, sorry I didn't understand fully and couldn't be of more help..

One more question..

How exactly did you get from stock OTA 2.2 to Com Rom? What were your steps?

Suggestions anyone?

Is there anyway to extract the voice search files from this rom? I am on sc 2.9.2, I have no itentions of installing the new rom, I am extremly happy with sc but... voice search does not work. When you say "text message bla.... bla bla bla" it never puts the name in the TO section.

I have heard that voice search on this rom works flawlesly and I would love to have it working on my phone.

Any ideas? Thanks guys.

Not sure about this one...my guess is that it's probably a bug with EB01, or both, not just the actual application. Why are you reluctant to switch? Have you considered the stock ED01 ODIN package?

Sc is stable, but still built off a reject version of Froyo..ED01 is much better in my opinion, even if it's not the com rom. :)

Comm Rom Gallery not showing all files

The gallery underthe community rom doesnt show all files. I have a folder with icons in it and it use to show it when I was under SC29. Even with the cusrom launcher pro icons/docks it doesnt show in th ev gallery what I downloaded.

Any ideas?

Steps are listed in my post above, at the top of the page.

Yeah, I read that..but what exact steps did you follow to go from a stock/non-rooted/OTA froyo update to a rooted/Custom ROM, which is only attainable by flashing through clockwork recovery...

i.e.

from 2.2 OTA

Flashed cwm-3-30 via ODIN
Booted to phone and loaded comrom.zip to sdcard.
Powered down/three button push to get to cwm
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Davlik Cache
Installed comrom.zip from sdcard
rebooted to phone..

After 2.2 OTA I Odin'd CWM and then loaded com rom. Since the phone was restored to "out of the box status" before any steps were taken in this process, I didn't (don't) feel the need to list steps above as they don't seem to apply when you Odin a fresh start. If you are moving from rom to rom to rom, that's standard and have done so when that applies.

Everything else on the phone works fine, The "phone app" has crashed a few times while in a call, whereas when you hang up, the "in call" icon still shows in the notification bar and remains until a phone reboot. These are minor issues that can be expected with these types of community driven roms. The problem I am having with the pictures seems at it's surface to be a issue with "design" rather than a 'bug", which is why I put it out there to see if anyone else was experiencing this. Don't know until other people either confirm or deny the issue exists on their phones as well.
