[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

still didnt work lol

ok so flashed the patch 1.2 correct? than menu--> settings-->setup wizard, than pressed start? and didnt work? did u enter correct pin? tell me what happens. make sure settings-->auto sync is checked and also that google sync is ON and also facebook sync is ON. also try backup assistance from there. let me know what happens. If doesnt work I would say clear data and reflash com rom than the patch again and try everything again. Another thing make sure data is on...the lights for sync should be lit green

it doesnt even let me get into set up wiz is freezes and re boots

maybe you caught a bad download....use one of the mirrors and flash it again. when u did make sure it wasnt it the same session as when u flashed the base rom. So base rom than boot than back to recovery than the patch. redownload reflash. Otherwise i would say start from the beginning clean wipe odin than flash com rom again. full reboot, than boot to recovery and flash the patch

One thing i noticed ... i've been using the Epic unlock from 2.9.2 and love the slide down when i receive text messages or have a missed call. On this rom the Epic lock is different, any way to get it working again?

Looks like even the puzzle lock doesnt show the txt messages also like before

by installing the message_patch.zip from the first post will fix this i found out

I flashed Community 1.0 then 1.1 then 1.2 in a row without restarting the phone in between. I did it in the manner on mine and my wife's phone. Should I reflash them now in the proper manner so we don't face issues down the road or do you think we will be fine?

I would say flash in order, but I am new to the whole modding thing so I might be rather over-active on the precautions.

if it works dont fix it, but it was advised to have a reboot inbetween the rom and the patch, also there is no need to flash the 1.1 patch since its all included in the 1.2 patch anyways.

still getting blue cwm

If you have not done a factory reset to install this ROM, I highly reccomend it.

I first installed it directly over SC 2.9.2 with just cache/dalvic wipes... and it worked great. However, I decided I wanted to try out the ED01 radio.

So I went back to stock Eclair and got the ED01 radio by following Adrynalyne's post: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...t-ed01-official-froyo-quickly.html#post841769

Flashed CWM ALL 3-30 FIX

Rooted via CWM (following DroidXcon's post: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-remove-system-apps-other-how.html#post700079)

BE SURE TO USE THE CWM FLASH TO ROOT... I had to go start over because at first I ODIN'd a rooted SC ROM to get root... but, not thinking, I lost the ED01 radio and went back to EB01... DUH!

After that:

- factory Reset/Data Wipe
- flashed the Com ROM
- rebooted
- flashed 1.1 Patch

.... and viola... everything is GREAT!

Battery Life = AWESOME! (9 hours and 20 min unplugged and I have 67% left... that is with GPS on the whole time and moderate to hevay usage)

anyway... just wanted to share me thoughts... thanks again to everyone who helped make this possible!

Ok, following these directions, after I successfully get ED01 and after I flashed red CWM (All-30-30 fix) in Odin, and rooted successfully I keep getting Blue recovery (3e). If I flash red again I get it for one reboot. I am 100% sure I am flashing in Odin correctly. Any ideas? Thanks

The reason for that is because you do not have a custom kernel.. The only way cwm sticks is by having a custom kernel. With just the stock kernel you would have to reflash cwm through odin everytime you want to use it.

Edit: Are you wanting to flash the community rom? If so when you're in cwm you would flash it via install from sdcard. You would want to at the least wipe cache partitions and dalvik cache before hand. Once the flash is complete boot up (it takes several minutes) Then you would be on the community rom and have a custom kernel that is included. CWM would then stick permanantly.

he can put the flashable version on his sd and apply update.zip like back in the old days.

@gunnermike and @feartheghost13, I flashed the temp recovery, and then flashed the community rom. Now i'm listening to the creepy robot, so 'twas successful. Thanks!

Thanks. I assumed flashing them all in a row would be the cleanest but now I know it's better to restart between each flash. Maybe this tip should be included in the directions.

Is there an Edify version of the Camera power button mod, allowing the power button to take pictures? Thanks.

GPS Problems

I've just done the second clean install of this ROM and I'm still having a problem with GPS. Locking is hit and miss like it has always been on my phone, but when in navigation it seems to lose signal really frequently. On my 12 minute drive home from work, I'm consistantly losing signal 4-5 times. When I was using the stock rom (2.1 and 2.2) it would often take a while to get a lock, but once it did I rarely had any problems.

The first commrom install was from factory fresh 2.2, and I retried a second install last night. Both times included full factory resets and multiple cache wipes. I haven't touched voltage control on this install as I suspected it might be the culprit last time.
