[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

this can be just a text file (.txt) right?

my next question is if decide i dont like the voodoo setup and i follow the steps to unvoodoo in the 'how to voodoo' thread, after disabling the lag fix can i then flash a non-voodoo kernal (say SC2.9) and everything will be ok?

thanks

Sorry for posting another method in your thread Adrynalyne, but many people are getting confused on how to create the disable_lagfix folder. For anyone who wants to run this on nonvoodoo, after you flash the rom and before you reboot you should be at the main cwm menu where "reboot system now" should be highlighted at the top of the page. Scroll to voodoo, power button, scroll to disable lag fix, power button, menu button or search button back to main menu page, power button on reboot system now. Done. No need to create the disable_lagfix folder.

just flashed ...was on sc2.9.2v w/ ec01 kernel, just wiped partition/davlik & flashed ...it was smooth sailing, everything is looking Good, no problems:) ..I was already voodoo'd out but this seems a little more snappier/responsive than before, also the gps locks on quicker too ..kinda miss the colors on the settings screen, not sure how I feel about the all white background in the text messaging app, ...anyone else have that little orangeish color in the corner in the task manger?

I have the orange in the corner as well, and as far as the white background, you can change that in the settings. I apologize if someone has already stated this, haven't continued on in the thread yet, just thought I'd stop and help you out.

Thanks landshark. I believe i can odin your new package to get the ec01 radio, then move on to the community rom, or follow adrynalyne/gizmodroid's directions in this thread: [ROM][Radio][4.10.11]EC01 - xda-developers

to get the ec01 radio, then flash the community rom. Would either method be better coming from SC 2.9.2?

p.s. I just decided im going to purchase windows for my mac soon so that i can have odin at my findertips. Im tired of being behind the times lol

Quicker and easier grabbing the EC01 modem from Adryanlyne's thread, flash it in ODIN, boot straight to cwm, then flash community rom

My download got dropped 4 times and each time from a mirror. Finally have a good copy I hope. Coming from SC 2.9.2 EB01. My plan is to odin the ED01 deodexed version I put on my wifes fascinate and then flash the new community rom. We shall see

Sounds like a bad download. Redownload the file and flash again. With everyone grabbing it all at once there are liable to be some bad or incomplete downloads Try one of the mirror downloads, they may not be as busy.

You can flash a nonvoodoo kernel of your choice, but if you follow the method I described a few posts up, you won't have to worry about voodoo. You can flash this package with the vooodoo kernel, disable lag fix before you reboot, and basically be running on a nonvoodoo kernel for all intents and purposes.

From your directions it sounds like I would be ok to just odin the ec01 radio, then flash community rom in cwm. No need to go back to eb01 stock and flash 3/30 cwm?

I truly appreciate all of your quick responses to my paranoia questions

The differences you will see if you go to voodoo will be certain files will be read faster, you will enter and exit certain apps and programs a little quicker, you will get better sound if you download the voodoo control app from the market, if you turn your brightness all the way up to 100% you will get the voodoo color enhancements (but since it is everyone's big concern, yes that will shorten your battery life) Your phone won't necessarily be faster, best way to describe it is it will be "snappier." That is all.

no I didn't know that ..:cool:thanks for the heads up ...there's a lot more options in all the settings menu's ..that's what I love about these roms, is that there are so many different Options to choose from ..it's so minor, but I'm really likin how you can wake up the phone with the volume keys now ...Options man, good to have:D

anyone have a link to that thread that explains the voodoo vs non-voodoo that was on here. couldn't find it when i tried searching. i've never used a voodoo rom before but have been enjoying SC2.9.2 for the past 2 months. considering this one but want to know alittle more about voodoo.

Thanks

you will never know the dirrerence untill you run a program that would not run before and it ask for your permission.

If you don't already have the 03/30 cwm, grab that file from DXC's clockwork thread, flash the EC01 modem in ODIN, pull usb, close odin, reopen odin, plug phone in, flash cwm, close odin, pull usb, put battery back in, do three button hold to boot directly to cwm, flash community rom, if you want voodoo, just reboot, if you want nonvoodoo, go to voodoo from main cwm page and disable lag fix before rebooting

Auto Rotate

You cannot shut the auto rotate off on this rom. No Matter on or off the screen always rotates when you turn it sideways. I always shut it off and cant :(

With the number of questions that are being thrown out, plus with trying to answer questions on my laptop and work on ODIN packages on my desktop, unless you are telling me you want to give me a million dollars, I highly doubt I will have time to check PM's tonight so if you have questions, please post them in the forums. Thank you.
