when i go into system app folder, next to the file size it has rw-r--r-- on every file except for the latinIME.apk which has rwxrwxr-x. did i make a mistake in moving the file to my sd card or in moving it to the system app folder?

How did you extract the latinIME.apk? How did you move it to the sd card? How did you put it in the system/app folder?

first i opened the 2.9.2 download that i still had, then went to system, then app. then i dragged the latinIME.apk to my sd card. from there i went to root explorer, went to sd card, found the apk, long pressed it, selected move, went back to system app folder, pasted it there, then tried the failed install.

I just got home from work, I want to flash the 1.2 patch, but want to know if it's safe to just flash it over the 1.1 patch that I already flashed or if I should re-flash the original comm rom 1.0 then 1.2 over that? I'm too tired to read through all the pages sorry.

Instead of just dragging the apk to your sd card, try double clicking on the sc 2.9.2 zip file to unzip it, go to system, go to app folder, scroll to latinIME.apk, right click on it and choose extract to the specified folder. You should then go look on your computer at whatever parent folder the SC zip file is in. You should see a folder called system. Open that folder and you should see only the latinIME.apk. Drag that apk file to your sd card, use root explorer to copy to your system/app folder. Then reboot your phone and see if you have it now.

You're right, why would it matter if something screwed up, I know how to fix it all now anyway thanks to this great community :) lol. I'm seriously exhausted from work what can I say, brain's not using a voodoo kernel tonight!

Also if possible try to flash the 1.2 patch with a full battery since it contains nemesis' updated OTB reloaded kernel.

Lol, a little too late for that.. I'm good with battery tho.. I know all about managing the battery etc. :) Thanks tho! Already flashed it and everything's fine, phone is charging right now. I did have one issue earlier today while at work.. My phone blacked out and wouldn't wake up or turn back on until I pulled the battery.. When it booted back up all my widgets were removed from my screens. Haven't had anything else happen since tho. Kind of weird.

Ah oh well its no biggie it shouldn't affect it that much. Hmmm sounds like a similar hiccup i had when it randomly rebooted yesterday ill be on the lookout for more of those. Hey fear i cant hide the clock from the status bar in TSM parts, i was wondering if you or anyone else has this same problem?

When I first played around with those settings I got it to dissappear no problem. What I don't understand is how some of them are checked by default to hide certain things, but they aren't actually hidden. I hid it by deselecting and then selecting again.. Trying it out again now. Didn't dissappear, so rebooting.... And it is gone after reboot. So reboot after selecting to hide it and see if that works!

Edit: I think in some cases it takes a reboot for them to take effect. However, I was able to check the clock setting to show clock and after about 10-15 seconds it showed up again without having to reboot.. Kind of strange, but it seems if it doesn't work a reboot takes care of it. Either way they are handy settings to have. :)
