[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

Just thought I'd throw this out there..... I have the Battery Icon turned off and in place I only use the % value. I noticed two things.

1. When the phone is charging there is no longer a charging indicator
2. I let my phone get down to 3%, plugged it in and at around 5% I had the need to reboot it. When it came back on (moments later) it said I was up to 35%.

Again.... Just throwing this out there as a "hmmmm".

Titanium shows I'm running flash 10.1, but I can't get it to work. Any other place to check to see what version (if any) I have. If I end up not having a version of flash installed (nothing is showing up in my market), then could I just find the install for version 10.1 and run it?

P.S. - if someone has the older version that I could install - could you post it? Thanks.

Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All. This will show your apps and versions, my Flash shows 10.1 also. Updated to 10.2 thru the market.

I installed the crysis theme, and initially had some trouble getting it installed. for whatever reason, the edify version didn't work at all. unfortunately while i was messing with the edify version, the boot screen broke. it's now blank on bootup.

i tried installing another boot screen, with no luck. anyone have any ideas on that front?

If it really bothers you that much you can just copy the mms.apk from another rom (i used the one from sc 2.9.2 for the stock look and added features) instead.QUOTE]

how do I do this?

what i did and i know this isnt the easiest way but its what worked for me. i took the mms_patch.zip from the OP in this thread and copy/pasted the mms.apk file from SC into it. then put that zip on my sd card and installed it thru cwm.

Download the superfrankenclean 2.9.2 zip file to your computer, double click the file to unzip it, double click system, double click app, right click on mms.apk and choose extract to the specified folder, choose where you want to send the mms.apk on your computer. Go to that folder on your computer and you will see a folder titled system, double click on it, double click on app, you will see the mms.apk. Drag that to the root or base of your sd card. Using root explorer or similar file manager app, go into the system/app folder and delete the old mms.apk, then move the new mms.apk to the system/app folder. Done

What's the difference in the MMS-patch and the MMS-superclean?

the mms_patch contains the samsung mms app. i didnt care for the colors of that one so i used the mms app from superclean instead. i just replaced the samsung mms.apk file with the sc29 mms.apk file. just personal preference. did the same thing with the market (vending.apk) i didnt like the color scheme so i replaced it as well

This process (or at least explained as simple as this is) should be stickied somewhere. Thank you SO much! One of the best posts I've ever read. Now with the help of a free app that lets you get to the system/app folder and this explanation, I may be able to load a custom boot / shutdown animation - if I can find those instructions again...?

Care to throw a screenshot at me? I believe I really enjoyed the coloring of SC's MMS, but I can't remember. Thanks, man.

OK, I'm going to start from scratch. The only issue that I am having is with sms, and the boxes at the bottom are not there at all.

Ok so I wipe thru cwm? never done that before

I just have to make sure that the file is on the sd card (it is, and so is the patch)

once I wipe.....how do I get back to be rooted? and will I still have cwm?

I'm worried I will have to start all over from scratch.

I'm all backed up with Ti Backup and nandriod.

I think it depends on where you're starting. By scratch, do you mean stock? If you're currently running Froyo, I think you can just flash ComRom 1.0 through cWm. I think only a dalvik and cache wipe are necessary. reboot. get back to cWm and flash the patch.

Perhaps someone with more experience can confirm/amend this. I'm just trying to prove to myself that I have *some* idea of what I'm talking about. :p

I feel like I searched this and found no help so if I missed it just give me a post number and I will look it up myself.
The ROM is working great no issues to report at all after 2 full days until today when I knew I had some stuff coming to my GMail which is the primary on my phone. I never got a status bar notification and when I opened the GMail app I had to tell it to refresh and then I had all kinds of email. This particular feature worked fine on SC 2.9.2. In GMail settings I have the email notification box checked, no ringtone or vibrate, and the notify once box unchecked. What am I missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks.

Kris, I didn't see anyone answered this, so I'll give it a shot..

First..after you flashed Kang Bang, did you do the *228 option 1 and 2 to reset your phone with the towers/verizon.. (always a good bet if you flash a new rom/kernel, as it doesn't hurt only helps)

If you didn't, then I would try that..

THEN,

sign out of gmail, clear the gmail data/cahe in applications, then sign back in..refresh..

You might also try the stock email client, (not gmail app) and see if you get better luck with that..

good luck

you might shoot your question about themes over to Jaekar on his thread, he's very knowledgable!
