[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

A few issues on v1.3...

1. can't see the time on the status bar - hiding and reshowing it won't work

2. Even after reboot I can't get the clock to show.

Color wheel trick from post 1359 worked for me!

3. Not a huge fan of the TSM on the swype keyboard.

Thanks so much guys this ROM still rocks!

I returned to 1.2 and then installed 1.3 for a second time but I still had problems with bookmarks. Only the stock browser would work with them. Other browsers would crash when trying to open the bookmarks. I also had BookmarkSB and that would crash also. Everything else worked fine as far as I know.

Are you running Tasker? I've noticed that Navigation is losing gps lock every few minutes until I turn Tasker off. If I turn it back on again then the gps problems come back.

I don't use tasker. I fished the ec01 modem, maybe it got corrupted somehow. Odd because I haven't flashed the modem software since ec01 came out lol

Hi to all
I'm having a bit of a problem when I go into my contacts and hit the back button it won't go back just like when I was on super clean. If it helps ii was running comm rom 1.3 but I had to many problems and just went back to 1.2.

I am assuming this is when you go to contacts from a shortcut in the dock in a third party launcher (Launcher Pro, ADW, GO Launcher, etc). If so, remap the shortcut in the dock to something other than contacts, then re-map it back to contacts. This should fix the problem.

I tried that and still wont work the contacts will flash once but it wont go back to my home screen.

My GPS has been loosing its signal like crazy since flashing CommRomm v1.3 like every couple minutes

For those with GPS issues like Wyllic, be sure that you did a wipe data/factory reset AFTER installing the new Rom. This got lost in this thread and it's not in the OP, but adry has mentioned it in the XDA thread.

This is from Suicide Shifts post back on page 106: post #1163...he got it from XDA..

Directly from adrynalyne:

"I mean a data wipe after installing rom. That way the modified secgps.conf file gets regenerated with the settings I chose."

I am not sure if everyone understands that the Data Wipe needs to be done AFTER installing the Community ROM Kangbang as per stated above by Adrynalyne.

hope that helps.

I thought that I had read somewhere a while ago that you shouldn't do a data wipe while on voodoo kernel. Is this true?

I see, well my way worked too lol at least I think so. Still getting crazy 3g but that's an issue atm anyways

Not that I know of...Peace..

If Adry recommends it, than I would take that means it's ok to do..

make a nandroid backup just in case. :)

AND...make sure your wiping data in CWM not in settings...that will definitely soft brick your phone.

Cool... Suicide Shift said he went back and wiped data AFTER installing comrom and didn't really notice any difference..I wiped data before installing, but not AFTER, and haven't really noticed any major problems.

I am pretty sure I have read on XDA that Adry recommends leaving Google Locations Services on all the time, as contrary to what my/our logic tells me, he claims it doesn't drain your battery.

I found leaving it on helps with gps/navigation when I go to use it..

I tried that and still wont work the contacts will flash once but it wont go back to my home screen.

Last time I had that issue a reboot was required as well after the step I listed, forgot to mention earlier. Also, try restarting the launcher, as I bet you already tried a reboot.

I get fantastic battery life with gps on or off so I'll just leave it on, I dont really use the gps all that often anyways it was just something I had noticed

First of all I really like the ComRom its excellent the best so far. Each time you guys have a newer rom/build its gets better and better!!!!

I am having a bit of a problem with Gmail it doesn't want to alert me when there is a new email. Is there an easy fix for this? It won't refresh on its own for some reason?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I have been running 1.3 for 24 hours now it it seems to be a very solid ROM. Now that I have most of the little annoyances fixed ( notification bar, Swype keyboard) it's time to let it run for a couple days to see if anything pops up. Thanks for all the work fellas!

Shawn
