[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

I'm coming back to KangBang from JT's CM7 and I was wondering if I need to "downgrade" to CWM 2.5.x to flash this ROM? I'm currently using 3.x.

Ok removed all the networks rebooted......no go. Reflashed ec01 radio and comrom 1.3 and still a no go. It detects the network and tries to connect but it seems to continually try to obtain an IP address and doesn't seem to be able to. I know the network is working cause my laptop is on it and the phone has connected to it prior to the last few days. Any ideas?

I had this same problem at my moms house trying to connect to her Verizon modem/router my laptop would connect but not the phone and my phone connects on other routers just fine. I was able to connect to her setup with stock 2.1 but soon as i went to 2.2 and any other ROM no go.

You don't have to downgrade, the Community Rom is compatible with Edify. Meaning it will flash on 3.x or 2.5.x

i have been reading back a few pages and can't seem to find the answer to this. when i swype with the community rom, the most suggested word is a dark green which i can't see. is it possible to change that green to something else?

I believe the only option is to change the whole swype.apk out completely...or flash a theme over your Rom.

1. I noticed that I can no longer take screen shots by holding back + power button. Is there a different way to take screen shots or do I have to download an app?

2. The messaging no longer offers a contact button under the contact field. That means that I can't just check multiple contacts to send a message to, now I have to enter each number individually.

3. on the 4 tab screen unlock, is there a way to change the TSM icon ?

4. I'd like to change the font color on the suggestion box for my keyboard. The font is black, which is hard enough to see, but the top suggestion is green which makes it almost impossible to see in a well lit environment.

5. Is there a way to get the My Buddies widget? It was one of the only widgets that I used before and now I can't seem to find anything that comes close.

2. The messaging no longer offers a contact button under the contact field. That means that I can't just check multiple contacts to send a message to, now I have to enter each number individually. Again, hit the OP for the Samsung messaging patch. That will fix that.

The font is black, which is hard enough to see, but the top suggestion is green which makes it almost impossible to see in a well lit environment. The only way to change that is to learn how to theme Swype, or flash another version from a different ROM.

5. Is there a way to get the My Buddies widget? It was one of the only widgets that I used before and now I can't seem to find anything that comes close. You can try extracting the .apk from the stock ROM and use root explorer to put it in the system/app folder, but that is hit or miss, at least in my experience with the stock widgets...

1. Download the screenshot patch located in the add-ons section of the OP (first post of this thread)

2. Unfortunately the only way I know around this is to download a third party messaging app like handcent or go sms

3. I don't think you can change the icon, but you can pair an app to the tab

4. There are alternate swype themes you can flash. There is one in the add-ons section of the OP

5. Not that I am currently aware of.

and where do I DL the Kangbang theme.. also one somewhere stated they had Greens for icons etc..

oops one more..my sammy took a swim in the aquarium yesterday and today it seems just fine...
if theres any muffling in my speakers i cant hear it but i cant hear that well no how....
is the speaker one that will hold up ok or ???? a point .....i also had the extra large back to accoomadate the thicker battery..
son dove right in to sting rays and baby sharks,, had one hand on rail and i held left foot...
sammy screen was working as it floated on down..

Sounds like a bad download. Redownload the file and flash again. With everyone grabbing it all at once there are liable to be some bad or incomplete downloads Try one of the mirror downloads, they may not be as busy.

Similar issue. I have tried downloading the comrom file several times. Everytime it just sits on the boot screen w/ ANDROID for a few then FC vibes start. And nothing happens from there> ive let it sit for over 20 minutes once.

Any ideas why this is happening? I'm coming from Evil ED01so I just loaded KB to my SD card and tried to flash from CWM. I have wiped all caches and downloaded the file more than once.

I solved this by simply flashing DL09 .. Ota to ED03...flash cwm,boot directly into cwm and flash the rom. fresh start always helps

when i install the rom i get a screen that says android, but it seems to never complete. i've let it sit for an hour. it'll vibrate occasionally like it is doing something but never completes.

Don't be insulted, because you may know much more than I do, but when you flashed back to DL09, did you OTA to ED03? Sounds like a stupid question, sorry. I would also try redownloading the ROM and try flashing the new download. You may also want to double check the voodoo settings in CWM and change them yourself, rather than letting the ROM do it. Sorry if that's all stuff you've done already.
