[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

When I send a text over 160 characters it comes out something like this "?rž?B?? ???ʿ??P’~šƒ?????" Is there any way to fix it?

There was an sms/mms fix for the over 160 characters problem back on EB01 build. I would imagine it would still work. I'm about to jump in the car to drive home after a weekend trip. I will find the patch and post it tomorrow or wednesday as soon as I find it.

Shark....is it different then the patch from page one under add ons?

Yes, it is different. It splits anything over 160 characters into 2 sms messages instead of converting to an mms message. do a search of posts in the rooting forum for Sms/mms patch or sms/mms 160 split. Gunner may still know where to find it. Not sure if it is in JaeKar's thread

Something a bit strange.....I have found out my phone will connect to my router if my laptop isn't already connected. If I connect my phone first it is fine and my laptop connects just fine as well only it has to connect after the phone. Seems strange but it works for whatever reason???

clock? I know its here somewhere

I know for a fact that I have seen the post in regards to the clock in the upper right hand corner in the taskbar. I know that I am supposed to change the color under TSM.....its not working, I have clicked on the white dot in the middle an rebooted....still nothing.

Silly question....the lightening bolt that is to the left of where the clock should be..... is that like the voodoo symbol?

Is your phone charging? I believe it's the charging indicator.

Yeah, that's the charging indicator. As far as the clock not showing up, you're doing the right thing by hitting the white dot in the center. Are you hitting the home key, or are you backing all the way back to home with the back key? The directions I used had you doing this with the phone unplugged and using the back key to get back to the home screen before rebooting. Also, are you using the reboot option, or powering off and manually rebooting?

i get an error when installing update.zip

assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")=="SCH-I500" || getprop("ro.build.device")=="SCH-I500"
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
Installation aborted

I tried two differend cwr versions, and 2 different DL09 roms before updating the zip.

please help, i had no trouble getting superclean, but this rom has been a nightmare. I'm 3 days deep and am still stuck on DL09

I'm having trouble flashing new themes to this ROM. Do I need to odin the new clockwork or something?

If you are downloading the themes from JaeKar99's thread he has Amend or Edify next to each theme to let you know which CWM to use. Amend - CWM-ALL-3-30, Edify - CWM 3.0

Is anyone else losing Voltage Control settings after a reboot? I have flashed back to DI01, updated to ED03 OTA, flashed ComRom and OTB kernel and I still can't get my settings to save.

I'm running ComRom 1.3 and the
latest OTB 1.5.

Why are you trying to install update.zip? You don't need it with the new recoveries. If you are still on DL09, let your phone OTA to ED01 or ED03, whichever you get. Download Community ROM v1.3 to your sd card, flash CWM-ALL-3-30 in ODIN, do three finger salute to boot directly to CWM, choose install zip from sd card, choose zip from sd card, flash zip, reboot

When you are in the voltage control app, after you set your voltage levels you have to hit the menu soft key & choose "set at boot" for your settings to stick after reboot

Guess I didn't give the whole story. When I have everything set I hit "apply" then "save as boot settings". Settings are still gone after reboot. I have run fix permissions, installed and reinstalled VC updates, cleared VC from SU and rerun, same thing.

EDIT: I reflashed ComRom 1.3 and kept OTB 1.4 that came in the zip. Saving settings works fine now.

thanks for the tutorial, the post itself is a bit confusing..

when i try to OTA to new software from DL09, i get server unavailable (i was on a non stock rom before this and flashed back to DL09). is there a manual method to get ED01 or ED03 without too much fuss?

a dumb question - what is the update.zip? does that just prep the phone for a rom? the community rom i downloaded says test2 or something in the file name..is that correct?
