[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

I finished reloading KB1.3 and switched to voodoo. followed the steps above. Phone FLYS now. I WISH I knew how fast voodoo was before this. I would have done it from the beginning. I don't even think I need to OC at all it's that snappy. Now I need to look into other kernels for better battery life.

On a separate note, does the OTB kernel that comes with this rom include the dummy tether module? I've seen this question asked but I haven't seen this question answered from what I can tell.

Glad you got up and running! If you want to really see it fly go into TSM parts and set all animations to Fast!:p

For better battery life try Comavolt, it's been great.

Not sure about the dummy tether yet.

Hi, i've been gone for awhile now and just wanted to ask this quick question. do i have to download 1.0 before 1.3 or can i go ahead and just flash 1.3?

1.3 is a complete rom, you don't need to flash 1.0 first

So I'm trying OTB 1.5 out, so far -75 gives me SOD so I'm going to see how -50 works but I'll bet comavolt ends up still being better for me

Hey guys,

First off I would like to give a big thanks to everyone for their time and effort on the comm rom. I've be running this rom for a while now and love it (I still consider myself a noob at rooting & roms). My question is should I make any changes to my following setup.....
Firmware.........2.2.1
Baseband........V.DL09
Kernal.............2.6.32.9
Build #............ED01
I'm not really having any issues, so do I make changes for better stability or faster os, or go with the,
"if it's not broke don't fix it." If you have a recommendation, could you give me the "why" answer also. Thanks for any input!

The only thing I notice is your modem is out of date. DL09 was a good, sturdy radio for the eclair builds, (my preferences during the leaked Froyo days).

You can get the EC01 modem and flash it with ODIN. POST #4 of the link below.

http://forum.androidcentral.com/verizon-fascinate-rooting-roms-hacks/69962-how-links-themes-roms-kernels-boot-animations-combined-resource-6-02-11-a.html

There is also a way to get to the latest radio ED03 if you want ..a little more involved.

[MODEM][ODIN][CWM]DL09, EA28, ED01, ED03 modems without ridiculous 100MB OTAs - xda-developers

Can't guarantee you'll notice a change, but if you want to give it a try you can always flash back to DL09 if you want.

Ah, you caught me. I was at work and cut corners on the instructions so I wouldn't get caught being on AC at work.

Lol I do what I can! Plus you work hard enough and do so much for us all here, can't expect you to be perfect.

I am having the same issue with vibrate as Neologoic, but it's also affecting my haptic feedback, no matter what settings I check. This is happening after my first time doing a nandroid restore. Any thoughts on that angle? Much thanks!

was the backup made from the same Rom you restored to?

I.e. Nandroid made from ComRom. Restored over ComRom?

or

Nandroid made with Evil Fascinatin installed; Restored over ComRom?

Here's the whole ridiculous story. I was running comm rom, everything going smoothly, when I decided to give Kaoscinate a try. I did my nandroid backup, flashed kaos (may have done that wrong in retrospect) and I got a never ending boot loop. Booted to recovery, factory reset/wipe, this time flashed ed01 bebing/debloat to keep things simple (i have kind of a change-it-up personality) but it never fully booted. I then realized that my cwm was still voodoo enabled. Recovery, wipe, nandroid restore. To my amazement, everything works hunky-dory again, except the phone doesn't vibrate are all. Sorry to burden you with this nooby tale. Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately I don't have much experience with Kaos. I know there was some discussion about getting back to stock after flashing it.

From where your at, this is probably what I would try.

1. Get back to complete stock by flashing DL09 in ODIN (http://forum.androidcentral.com/verizon-fascinate-rooting-roms-hacks/78470-howto-get-ed01-official-froyo-quickly.html)
2. Test to see if vibrate works once that loads
3. If yes, then you can either OTA to ED03, Follow adry instructions to get to ED01 or Flash the EC01 modem.
4. Do the whole proper installation of KB1.3 ( wipe cache's, wipe data, KB, wipe data, reboot sys)
5. Test to see if everything is working fine.

Good luck!

Will try this over the weekend. Thanks!

Lttlwing: After some stress over a failure to boot, Sheepdog helped me flash that eclair file using Odin so I should be good to go now. Vibrate works. You guys are awesome!

Ok - been waiting long enough to ask this... Other phones (my buddy's incredible for sure) have this option, but I haven't seen it in any patch, add-on, or eye-candy. Is there some feature/process that would allow us to be able to add/remove/reorganize the shortcuts that are at the top of the pull down in the notification bar?

Been about a month, and I haven't been checking the pages recently, but has anyone come up with something like this. To be able to customize the toggle switches in the notification bar - things like...

Re-orient: (ex: Move "auto rotate: on/off" from all the way to the left of "gps: on/off" - or -
Add/Remove: (ex: Add "auto brightness: on/off" toggle switch or Remove "Bluetooth: on/off" or Add "a shortcut to a particular app")

Landshark told me that he may work on that (possibly see it in KB 2.0?), but I was just wondering if it had maybe come out in an add-on or something. Thanks in advance for any light that could be shed on this.

As far as I know this would involve changing pngs and probably other changes to the framework.res, so it is more involved than just moving things or changing icon pictures. The pull down notification bar is not like the homescreen so it would seem more difficult to make any changes to it.
