[ROM][6/26/12] CyanogenMod 9 - Official Nightly & RC Builds!

Re: [ROM][5/30/12] CyanogenMod Nightly Builds - OFFICIAL!

I wonder when they'll incorporate it. there's a new nightly it, but of course the mirrors are down

Apparently IMM76K has a more webOS-y multi-tasking interface. I'd expect that to make it in there...

Upgraded to 6/3 last night. Seems like my battery life is being drained faster. I have no numbers to compare, just seems like it

Re: [ROM][5/30/12] CyanogenMod Nightly Builds - OFFICIAL!

I don't get why some folk would care if the Verizon-specific build stuff gets incorporated into ROMs... we all wanted this phone to be as close to AOSP as possible, and all the ROMs out there use AOSP source as their base... this is GOOD for us. We don't want crap code that Verizon's meddled with.. lets just be happy with AOSP-based ROMs and the ease with which we can run them :)

Re: [ROM][5/30/12] CyanogenMod Nightly Builds - OFFICIAL!

Let's presume there might be a bug with LTE versions of the Nexus where voice connections are unstable for some people.

Issue 24019 - android - Galaxy Nexus mutes mid-call - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

And perhaps whatever fix (if there was one) was only included in the version that was, you know, actually for OUR version of the phone. The only one with LTE.

Not that it was fixed, but it could/should have been.

Well that's a hardware issue, and you should exchange for a new device if you're experiencing issues like that. Most phones don't have signal / antenna / voice / mic issues, the ones that do are hardware defects. Software updates can't fix defective hardwares :\

You can see from the comment in the link you provided the user said the issue remained both before and after the OTA, so that's just more evidence that it's a hardware issue. Again, most users' phones are free of defects, though I've heard of a few that got replaced and still received faulty devices... and yes it may seem like more people have issues than really do if you browse the General section, because people that have no problems don't make threads to talk about it, lol.

Re: [ROM][5/30/12] CyanogenMod Nightly Builds - OFFICIAL!

I can only disagree with your assessment :). Both the Gnex phones in my household have the issue. There is quite a bit of anecdotal evidence to suggest it is a regional problem, and the repeated situations of people exchanging for more than 5 new phones all having the same problem... if it IS hardware, it is a damning example of craftsmanship from Samsung. And I am pretty partial to Samsung, and due to the LACK of said problems on non-LTE devices...

I am not one of those that blows things out of proportion from reading the general section. But the two I have, and the three between my friends ALL have the problem where I live. 5 out of 5 from personal experience is too much to attribute to manufacture defect from Samsung IMO.

There are people who got multiple replacement devices and had similar hardware issues with each, only to finally receive a good unit. I'm not going to deny it sounds like samsung definitely had a quality control issue with the LTE nexii, and I often times consider myself lucky that my first one has been more or less perfect.... but still it is a hardware issue. I'm only stressing it because you shouldn't wait around with a device that needs replacing thinking that a software update is ever going to fix the issues you're having. Swap it out.

How is it decided when to update this thread with a new nightly build? Is it when you've confirmed one is pretty stable or do you only update every so often?

I usually update weekly at this point TBH. If I have time I'll update it more frequently, but considering how incremental most builds are, it doesn't seem warranted. :)

Speaking of which, it's updated and they stopped calling the roms "update"?

Re: [ROM][6/8/12] CyanogenMod Nightly Builds - OFFICIAL!

I have a few questions, I am currently running:
update-cm-9-20120604-NIGHTLY-toro-signed.zip
I see there is a new update today (just like everyday):
cm-9-20120609-NIGHTLY-toro.zip

My question is, one says "update" and the other does not and one says "signed", the other does not.
http://get.cm/?device=toro&type=nightly

What is the significance of those? Can I still update, just wipe cache/dalvik?

Thanks in advance!:D

You should be fine. From what I gather it's a mere name change.

AFAIK the "update" in the filename makes no difference, I've never seen them release anything that isn't a complete ROM.

But just as a courtesy post, when you're dirty flashing.. wipe cache, dalvik and format /system. If you have any issues at all that nobody else is reporting then assume you need to do a full wipe before you complain about anything :)

Re: [ROM][6/8/12] CyanogenMod Nightly Builds - OFFICIAL!

Does anyone know if the latest nightly (06-10) has the Linaro code, or if not, where we can download the version that does have it?

Re: [ROM][6/8/12] CyanogenMod Nightly Builds - OFFICIAL!

I think the current CM9 nightly may have small parts of Linaro, but the meat of Linaro has yet to get included (although it's been submitted!), I think we'll see it added in the next few weeks?

This is my first try at this ROM. Is there a way to add custom toggles, like for 4G and WiFi hotspot, or are we not at that point yet in the nightly's?

Were the changes approved? If not they're still not included, presumably.
