First let me say this, we cannot maintain releasing ROM's at the rate that we have been. Nobody involved in this project wants to set the expectation that you'll get an update every few days. Most developers come right out and say that once the ROM is stable (which all of ours have been) they will release every 3 to 4 weeks.

With that said, LITERALLY while releasing 2.3 we made some awesome breakthroughs that we REALLY wanted to incorporate into 2.3 but also we really wanted to test the crap outta them. Now that we have them sorted out we cant wait for you guys to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

I will say this ... expect battery increase & performance increase in the next ROM. Our changelog speaks for itself and i feel (compared to some) we've been really up front about our changes and don't mask them with "battery increase" or "performance increase". We actually tell you WHAT we've changed because we did the work ourselves. All work on this ROM is original and we don't steal anything from other developers, In fact, we've kind of gained a reputation amongst some app developers as being open and honest which has opened some amazing doors. Keep in mind we were the first team to get wireless tether working on froyo, the first team (i think) to incorporate the streaming audio fix into their rom. The first team to bring you channel changing in wireless tether .....

As we've stated time and time again, we really want to give the people of androidcentral.com something to brag about. Something we all own. We hope you take as much pride in that as we do.

::Rant Over::

That's awesome man. I appreciate all the work you guys do. I'm actually very pleased with AC 2.2, and I'm still on it. I didn't even realize you were working on more for it. lol.

But when you hinted about some new features the salesmen in me had to try and pry some info from you. So don't ever feel like I'm trying to be a pain in the butt when trying to get you to release info or release dates. I'm a salesman and it's in my nature to try and pry or get you to slip up and release some juicy info. lol. Just ignore me if you feel I'm hounding you.

But if you ever need a beta tester shoot me a PM anytime.

Awesome work guys and do you have a donation set up?

difference in lindowload and mirror

Probably a noob question but is there any difference in downloading the link Rom from the mirror Rom. I've had the previous 2.2 Rom and loaded it no problem but now having issues with loading 2.3. Also I don't have to wipe again right since I just loaded 2.2

You shouldn't have to wipe. Should bee no difference between the mirror and reg download, except maybe speed. One might have more people using it than the other.

Lol I don't think you're hounding me at all and we really appreciate all you folks trusting this Rom and using it.

Regarding donations, check beezys signature. He doesn't even have an EVO so were really hoping to get him one so he can actually use this Rom lol. Donations are greatly appreciated but not in any way expected.

Hey guys,

First and foremost, great work on the ROM. I just had a question. I am running v.2.2 right now, and I wanted to upgrade to the newest one. I realize that I won't have to wipe and can just install over it, but do I have to reflash the Radio and Wimax?

I also just donated $10 to beezy, you guys are putting in some good work and the guy deserves at least an EVO!

Thanks!

Thanks you very much, greatly appreciate it.
You don't have to reflash the radio&wimax they stay the same, until you flash a new radio&wimax.

No, the FPS cap is still in place. You may see people suggesting you download a custom kernel to remove the FPS cap, WE HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT DO THIS! While the kernel may or may not work, the way the FPS "fix" is being implemented is detrimental to the life of your EVO and a waste of battery. The cap has not been removed in these kernels, rather, your LCD screen is being told to refresh twice as fast meaning more battery used and shorter life on your LCD screen (by 200%). We will implement a fix when a proper fix is identified that will not cause damage to your EVO. We care about your EVO as much as you do. Thanks for understanding.

I had to correct this. Whether this ROM chooses to implement the kernel fix or not is their choice, but this is not an effective reason (because it's simply not true).

A. The LCD panels are actually designed for 60hz. Most of them are the same ones used on the HD2 which obviously refreshed at 60hz.
B. Battery life is not affected by the panel itself at all. LCDs cost almost no power at all to "refresh". 99% of the power usage of an LCD panel is in the backlight.
C. This wouldn't cause any reduction in life expectancy of the panel. That's just silly. Even if they did, the panel itself is pretty much guaranteed to exceed the life of the phone as a whole.
D. There has never been any reported damage to the hardware of the EVO due to this.
E. Battery usage CPU/GPU-wise from refreshing more often is negligible, as the vsync used to keep it at 30 also uses some power.

Hi Vincent,

Thanks for taking the time to express your opinion. This is one of those times where it's great to be an American. We all get to form our own opinion. I'm not going to sit and debate with you, these people are smart and can do their own research and educate themselves. If after they have educated themselves, they decide to flash a kernel, that's their choice. Or they can use your Rom or kernel .... feel free to post a link in the hacks sub-forum section to any Rom or kernel you have created :)

In reading many of your posts I can see you have a serious problem with anybody who does not agree with you so I'm sure you'll take the time to post something back BUT I will advise you that any sort of personal attack, or posting of information that you've already posted, like you commonly do, will result in that post getting deleted. We want to keep the thread clean so those who are actually using the Rom can receive assistance.

Have a great day Vincent.

Well said. Still looking forward to a kernel (hopefully) from you guys designed for this ROM now that the official source has been released by HTC.

Guys first off thanks for all the hard work. I am extremely new at flashing ROM's on a Rooted phone. Once I passed all the jitters I downloaded and rooted with Unrevoked 3. I am an extreme noob here. I flashed your 2.2 ROM first and was happy...I then flashed 2.3 over the 2.2 without wiping. I have been doing my utmost best to follow all the rules here. I hate to say it but the only problem that i'm having is the Sprint football app. Yes I know it's bloat-ware but I hate to admit it I kinda liked it. Heres the problem. I run the app and it wants to do an update of it. After it downloads the update it says installation failed. Everything else works though and again thanks for all you do.

Thanks for all your work guys. I'm enjoying this ROM. There are two customizations that I would love to see added if possible 1) Battery as a percent instead of icon. 2) Transparent lock screen. The second would be nice, but I would REALLY like the first. I'm stuck having to run clumsy tools that stick the percent in the notification bar. It would be REALLY nice to have it build right in and replace the regular icon. This seems to be a feature that most power users want. Thanks for all your efforts!

Hi Mark,

Thanks for checking out the ROM. Here are some instructions to get you back up and running with the Sprint Football app.

1) Text the word football to 7777
2) You'll receive a text back with a link in it. Thank link is to download and install the new Sprint football app. I have verified this method works.

We will include the updated apk in our next ROM but this is to get you by for now. Enjoy.

No need to be so defensive. The only issue I have here is, is you're scaring people into thinking that it's a dangerous operation. (Even people who aren't interested in installing the ROM) I think you know very well that not everyone who browses AC knows what a refresh rate is, much less how to do the research themselves. Just do the right thing.

(http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc...ease-help-new-android-rooting.html#post287159 example)

If you don't want to put it in your ROM, it's really not a big deal. It's your ROM, and it's not the first to make that choice. I think it's more than fair to acknowledge that your reasoning, though, is not accurate.

And the only reason I'm posting here is because that's where this information was posted. If you would like to take this to PM, that's fine with me as well.

Not even going to touch this with a 10 foot pole. Passive aggressive. I'm trying to help you, simmer.

Would that be the same for the Nascar App as well. Just noticed it did the same thing. My daughter loves to listen to the car scanners during a race.

Thanks again for stopping by. additionally thanks for providing a link which states that upping the refresh rate uses more battery, a claim you said wasn't true (reference point B of your original clutter)

Also I'm not sure I agree with your assessment on the ability of AC.com members to educate themselves.

have a great day Vincent.

Apparently you don't wish to continue this in PM. Fair enough.

And whether you agree with me or not about the general populace of AC, if you think people should do their own research, just say that. Don't give your opinion and state it as fact, without any evidence or reasoning to it. I provided thorough reasoning myself, at least respect that.

Frankly, I don't see why you're getting so defensive about this. It's a simple edit, and the community at large would be the better for it.

The link was an example of what your statement in your first post is causing. They had read your post and assumed it was true. This is why it's a problem. People trust you to provide them with accurate information, as you're a ROM developer.

Edit: I keep having to edit this because I'm trying to be as nice as possible here.
