Im getting a laggy system using this ROM also worse battery life then the STOCK ROM I was using before. Stock I was running overclock which some people said did very little for Froyo I am running SetCPU. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have only run this ROM for 3 days now. I want to give it a chance before I try something else.

It's simply not possible for us to troubleshoot everything you may or may not have done to the ROM since installation. The lag could be caused by an application you've installed (either from the market or from a website), could be caused by improper settings in SetCPU including using s battery saving governor on your profiles (other than screen off), setting the CPU too low, could be caused by a kernel you've loaded (if you did), could be caused by, could be caused by (i think you see where I'm going)

Here's the best suggestion I can give. Do a complete wipe (Factory/dalvik/cache), flash the ROM, and don't change or install anything. Use the ROM for a couple days AS IS before you start loading anything or changing anything.

Keep in mind there's pages of people getting 20, 30, 40 hours with this ROM. Unfortunately an improper setting or poorly coded app is going to impact any ROM and it's outside of our control.

Yea I figured there was a problem I caused somewhere along the line. Can you give me a suggestion for SetCPU? Thanks

Absolutely. Heres a simple quick setup i use and it provides excellent battery life and i have yet to see any issues with lag or performance

Quick note; I do not game on my phone. I call, text (heavily), email (heavily), gtalk, browser the web .... basic core smartphone functionality.

In the main screen of SetCPU put the max at 576 and min at 275, leave governor at on-demand, and check mark set on boot.

in the profiles tab only create 1 profile and have that be Screen off, min 275 and max 275, set the priority at 95, and put the governor at battery saving. Make sure you enable profiles.

These are the only 2 settings i use and i get amazing battery life and see no performance issues at all. You can adjust the main tab to set your max at whatever you'd like it to be but for me personally i don't need over 576 so i dont want to let the cpu scale to 1ghz simply so i can send a text message lol.

You speak the truth, there.

It seems like SetCPU should include the abilty to assign "profiles" to individual apps. So, if GoogleTalk is in the foreground, 576MHz, but if GoogleEarth is primary, 1000MHz+. Perhaps add some support for processor intensive background tasks, as well, if any exist.

Heck, maybe it already does those things. I'm a newb.

Ok, I got close to these setting but for some reason my max only goes to 528. I enable profile correct?

Quick question, on the profile setting do you mean 'power saver '? because I don't have
An option for battery saver for the gorvenor.

Yes, battery saver. The snappiness in my phone is back. Still checking battery but I had the CPU set wrong.

yes, sorry for the miss-type. I'm trying to provide assistance from memory cause i'm currently using a loaner EVO thats not rooted.

I suffered from the charger port problem, got a replacement EVO today, and my replacement EVO has MAJOR issues so they ordered me a new one. I'm not even going to root this one (despite our work on 2.6) because I'm simply going to hand it over Tuesday morning.

Please forgive my absence of mind.

No apologies necessary, thank you for all your help.
I have learned alot reading this thread, Beezy and you did a great job.

Hey thanks for appreciating the ROM. After all this work we never get sick of hearing how happy people are with it despite how self-indulgent that sounds.

Were busy working on 2.6 for you all while trying to provide the world class support people have come to expect from this ROM.

WE THANK EVERYONE WHO HAS STEPPED UP TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE!!!! Without you guys we'd be sitting here answering questions all day and not working on providing you with that stuff, that funk, that sweet, that funky stuff (bonus points if you know where that comes from).

Wooo. Very excited for 2.6

What can we expect?

(Realized that by asking this question I am taking time away from development. DOH)

big thanks to Jercik from xda for design and faster3200 for port of the icons.[/QUOTE]

Will these work for CM6 roms?

No i don't believe so. This is for sense ROMs

They did work on Fresh, though. Not sure about other ones.

Like KSmith said nope they won't work on CM roms as it doesn't use the same framework files that sense roms do.It will cause issues if flashed to a CM rom.The icons will work on any sense rom.(AC,Fresh,Damage, etc, etc)

Ok im not sure if this was covered or not as Ive read alot in this thread for awhile but..I know that there is a recommendation against using a fps fix kernal on this rom which is where my question lies. Is the netarchy or king kernal compatible with this if I decided to give it a shot?

Oh and 1 more. Theres discussions going back and forth and ive heard both sides of this coin and dont know which is which. Is doing the rollback to 2.1 then unrevoked forever/3 combo -upgrade a full root or a partial?

Don't use UnRevoked. Use SimpleRoot. Faster, easier and full root
