Would everyone want stock apps(bloatware) removed?

This is sense based rom but if you wanted to have some vanilla then you could download a launcher and remove htclockscreen.apk.That would give you the vanilla look.Wifi tether is in the rom and should install when flashing the rom you don't have to install it.

This is exactly what I am doing and I love it. AC-ROM, LauncherPro, Beautiful Widgets, and removed the HTC Lockscreen.

You know someone was going to ask this. I came expecting to see this question posed and answered already, but since apparently not, I'll ask...

Will the AC-ROM team be releasing a version based off the new OTA?

I've just come to know to be patient with these guys. I'm willing to bet they had something close to done and then these new updates rolled out and they had to redo some stuff.

On a note unrelated to AC-ROM, wait till you see whats been cooking ;)

We've had 2.6 done for quite some time now but then a little birdie told us the "leak" was nowhere near an official version and if we were patient we'd get a MUCH better release. So in keeping our promise to you guys to release stable ROMs, we decided to forgo to "leak" and wait for the real one to come out.

The leak wasn't bad but really .... basically all they fixed was stagefright and some tweaks to the kernel?!?!? we knew right away something was fishy.

I knew it!!! I thought it had been too long without an upgrade.

i'm kinda new to all this and was wondering.. when the update is finished will i be able to flash over the old one or do you have to do the wipe and then flash?

:p .... You still having trouble flashing any ROM thats non-sense (or a little sense?)

This is going to be a full wipe then flash because the source code has changed, the kernel has changed (or not? ), various APK's have changed. No matter what, theres absolutely no harm in trying to flash overtop cause the worst that's gonna happen is bootloop which is fixed by batter pull, hboot, recovery, full wipe, then flash.

Yep. It was suggested that I unroot and re-root, but I REALLY don't wanna do that. How hard (or easy) is it to get certain elements of AOSP to work with Sense? I'm interested mostly in the lock screen. And maybe trying out some alternate launchers, if for no other reason just to get the experience (which is the same reason I wanna be able to flash non-sense or kinda non-sense ROM's).

EDIT: wow that quote showed up weird lol

I would love a updated version with the 1.77 pri and the new release with fps unlock and whatever else it does.

I've used baked snack for 1day and switched to AC and have never looked back, this whole time I've been rooted.

Great work guys.

this is prolly somethin imposible.. the only thing i really like abt stock froyo is the app draw 3d effect.. is there any way to have that but still keep all the rest of my sense becuz i wouldnt trade sense for the world.. thankx

so if we full wipe and flash the new rom, can we restore from a nand back up from the old rom? basically, do we have to start all over with our apps(using app brain btw) and settings when we flash to the updated rom?

If you're talking about restoring apps you would need titanium backup or mybackup.

won't using app brain also restore the apps? would doing a nand restore bring them back as well? I'm just trying to figure out if i can do a nand restore from the current rom and use it on the new rom when it comes out.

App Brain will restore your apps, but not their associated settings. That's why you want a Titanium Backup.

You can't restore specific aspects from a NAND backup. It's all or nothing.
