Nope, I did not flash the remapping.. Knew I was missing something. Giving it a try right now. Thanks a million.

That fixed it. Right know can't think of anything else I would want. This ROM is working just like I was hoping.

Paul- backed up ACE Rom 1.6 and decided to try 2 roms- ACE 1.7 and Syndicate. 2 things to note:

1) Love how smooth and polished V 1.7 feels, with all the fixes committed, etc. However, is there any way to have the battery mod with an all black notification bar? Not a fan of purple, though im sure others are- just a personal preference question.

2) When I was messing around with Syndicate ROM, I noticed the Google Search button didnt work. I came back to this thread and grabbed your patch, CWM flashed it, and it worked like a charm. I dont have enough posts at the XDA forum to post in the Syndicate thread (dev forum), but perhaps you could post in that thread or let the lead developer know of your patch? It would help the guys on that ROM which you intend (eventually) to get the IQ material from.

Great work again though- ACE is smooth and just works- very few bugs (cant think of any) and it isnt overly flash like many others are. Btw, I managed to get 1 day 8 hours before I hit 50% battery, and thats with an hour of screen time! Very impressive..

first off Kudo's on the ROM.
just flashed from TER1.5 --> ACE1.7

I am trying to see the 1.2 OC setting with SetCPU and it just maxes out at 1Ghz.. I feel like I am missing something. Any Ideas?

I wasnt really going to comment on this, but our problems are opposite: on my phone setting SetCPU to max at 1Ghz doesnt work- the scaling options (on demand, performance, etc) definitely change the clock speed of the CPU, but for some reason the phone will always kick up to 1.2 Ghz when its heavily taxed. SetCPU doesnt seem to be preventing CPU from going above 1Ghz. No big deal for me, but something to note..

I will take it into consideration as I start working on a theme. I understand we all have different tastes, at the same time as I don't want ACE to be a mirror of TrulyEpic Rebirth. I owe that to Ragnarokx and TER for the work we did not to duplicate it.

The patch as everyone seems to refer to it as, simply pulled the Google Search apk from the stock deodexed Froyo EB13 and placed it in a flashable zip file.

Thanks, that is what I'm aiming for is low maintenance. I don't want a thread full of fixes and errors, I would rather give you all a simple, cautiously modified ROM to use as a daily driver. Not that I wouldn't mind adding in the CIQ from ACS, but it still early in development.

I set mine to the undervolt, 200-1000, set on boot and leave it alone.. Occasionally I bump it to overclock if I'm doing some heavy surfing with lots of graphics and stuff loading up.

Same as above, only thing I can recommend is checking the Genocide's thread here at Android Central or their thread at XDA for more answers. I really don't have alot of experience with kernels other than just doing as the dev's instructions.

Yeah, totally understand keeping it simple- always prefer ROMS that get bare instead of add a bunch of stuff. Your philosophy is working, so no worries on the theme. It is just a preference and I've been getting along with it fine :)

Thanks Paul, for all the hard work... Do any of you still advise running Juice Defender with this Rom???
Thanks
I honestly don't know how much more your going to get using Juice Defender, if you leave the Genocide kernel at its stock setting for the undervolt your getting probably more than Juice Defender will provide.

You can try it, anything is always worth a shot. :p

Whether or not juice defender will help kind of depends on your usage. One of the primary benefits to Juice Defender is that it can shut off your data when you lock the phone... which can be good or bad depending on how you use the phone. Juice doesnt do a whole lot more, and even Ultimate Juice isnt a magic program- it allows you to do profiles, etc, but it may not help.

I use my phone for short periods of time but frequently. Pop it open, answer a few texts, check gmail, read the news via my browser, lock the screen. I may unlock quick to check a memo or look at some files, etc. Juice defender in this case would hurt me as it would be constantly killing and restarting the 3g service (unless on wifi, and then whats the point?). If you use the phone for 45 minutes than set it down for 4 hours, JD might be worth it.

I suggest grabbing a program called Quick Settings. It will allow you to mess with screen brightness, enable/disable all radios (bluetooth, 4g, 3g, wifi, etc), volume/ringer, and even use the display as a flashlight. This way, if you want to sip battery, you can disable data/3g/wifi/4g while its just sitting there and it will only receive texts and phone calls.

Very impressed so far, thank you Paul.

The purple looks great up top :-).

Looking forward to future additions/improvements!

Paul,
I just noticed over at xda they figured out how to incorporate the bonzai data back up and restore for eb13 roms any plans to include this feature?

just a tip to anyone like me who likes to flash stuff from DK28 onto this rom- BE CAREFUL with the bonzai4all font from TER. really screwed up my phone. screen went black and would not go to home. period. had to fully reflash ACE. so far all other flashes ive tried from TER and dk28 have worked as addons for this (stellar) rom.

Just wanted to say thank you again for your work this is awesome over the last 3 days i have tried 4 roms and this by far kills em all... The one and ONLY single issue i have is voice dial is not working any idea how to get this working again? Yes I have considered adding this feature. I was waiting a bit just to make sure it was working properly before adding it. It will probably be in the next update and I may do like Ragnarokx did on TER and have 2 separate versions. One with the backup/restore and one with...

Just checked it out on my device and it seems to be working fine. Asked it to call my daughters phone 3 times in a row, it recognized the command and prompted me on screen to "Call Brooke on mobile".

I think it works if you're just using voice dial on the phone itself, but fails if you try to use bluetooth voice dialing.

i cant not get this to install for some reason... I was running truly epic before and im complaint with requirments but get an installtion error.

even when i wipe and clear and do all that before. I even re-downloaded the romf rom a different mirror and copied it on to the card with a different name but still get the same error.

this is what happens on screen :

FORMATTING SYSTEM...
unpacking system files...
Placing ACE ROM extras on sdcard....

flushing delvik cache...
creating symlinks and permissions...
uopdating your modem...

script aborted (no error message) e:error in /sdcard/ace rom 1.7.zip

(status 7)
installation aborted.

CAN ANYBODY HELP ME WITH THIS AT ALL?? i have never had a ROM fail like this. thanks!
