Would you like to see the CIQ Removal in the next release of ACE?

Been putting this issue through its paces (toggling, rebooting, etc). As a result, I've gotten several FCs on AMLauncher. Any thoughts?

You can go to your settings>manage applications and clear the data/cache on AMLauncher. AMLauncher has been very solid, simply because its a simple launcher. That is one of the main reasons I have stuck with AMLauncher for months now, besides the fact it has a cool scrolling apps list.

If this doesn't resolve anything the I would recommend wiping and flash the ROM again. I can't get this lag to reproduce for me. I'm using the included Genocide kernel set at default undervolt settings. FYI.

Battery meter and Ace Rom Extras

I don't have the fancy battery meter and I can't find the ACE ROM Extras on my SD card. Can anyone help?

If you installed ACE, then it comes with a half black and purple status bar with a round 1% battery mod meter.

Use Astro on your apps, goto sdcard/ACE ROM extras

Trust me its there.. Its part of the installation script.

Ok sooo im totally new to this whole rooting thing, and I'm trying to download ACE 1.7 to my sd card but when I click the link, I'm not sure where/what im Downloading. The link shows like 7 different buttons that say "Download". What is the actual name of the file im downloading?

is there a way to tell if I got the Ace Rom installed properly?

First thing. Did you install Froyo EB13 and convert to CWM3.0.0.6/EXT4 ?

Second if you goto settings>about phone and scroll down to build number does it say ACE ROM v1.7?

The supplied program in your apps list "Astro" will allow you to view your "/sdcard/" and then you can navigate to "/sdcard/ACE ROM extras/" and find the files listed in the #2 post that were placed there for you to use if you like. There are 4 custom boot animations and 4 keyboard button remapping changes.

Anything else you need help with please report back here.

Thanks ... I forgot about the separate cache for AMLauncher. I had cleared the cache through CWM but no results. Clearing AMLauncher cache seems to have worked. I'l report back if it re-emerges once I put back all the icons.

I agree about AMLauncher ... stable, simple, and light. That's partly why I installed ACE.

So I followed all the steps here to get my phone rooted and have ext4 (http://forum.androidcentral.com/epi...c-4g-official-froyo-eb13-w-optional-ext4.html) and everything worked perfectly.

Now I'm having trouble using the ACE rom. I downloaded ACE 1.7 onto my SD card, but I need help from there.

When I go to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from zipcard > ACE ROM 1.7.zip, then yes to the install, I get an error. It says E: cant open sdcard/ACE ROM 1.7 zip (bad) Installation aborted

What am I doing wrong? Im not sure exactly how to load the rom but I was assuming you just go to it through the sd card in clockworkmod recovery.

I think my issue is a Kernel problem.. Is there a way I can revert it back to the old kernel and still use this ROM?

I'm still getting the full battery alert, sound and phone lights up. Isn't it suposed to be killed in this rom. I'm running version 1.7

I will check on this...

As far as I can tell, my phone just hit the full mark and all it does is show the pop up in the status bar saying full. The constant lit screen with the popup message is gone and that was what the battery full kill was supposed to do.

Can I ask have you flashed any changes like a different lockscreen or something along those lines? The file that controls the battery pop up kill is called "services.jar" its located in "/system/framework/". If you have flashed something that modded the services.jar file it is possible the battery pop up kill was removed.

I had this problem too on several different roms. Deleting the file off of the SD card and putting it back on seemed to do the trick.

@all, I add a poll to the thread that will run for 3 days. I just want to get some input on the CIQ removal. I'm working on a few things and just want to see what you would like concerning the CIQ removal. My opinion on it so far with the latest Bonsai/Syndicate/midNIGHT, is its working better than before but still seems to have some issues here and there. I'm still not completely sold on the whole idea, as I have stated in the past I do like ACE running stable. I know everyone wants better battery life and some want those "benchmarks". Me, I enjoy having a low maintenance ROM for everyone and not a thread full of problems or questions because something I add causes conflicts.

I will see what the outcome is after the poll expires and go from there....

My opinion on CIQ removal.

I think it's a step in right direction for ROM development. Removing something that deep in the architecture that has noticeable effects (battery life, speed, and yes...even benchmarks) is something I like to see. I'm glad the guys at ACS led the way and then shared what they found with the rest of the community. If you can integrate CIQ removal into a future version of ACE ROM, I'm sure it will only make things better.

Havnt changed a thing. Just flashed rom 2 days ago. Factory reset wipe cache and the other wipe in advanced as well. It beeps and screen turns on when battery full. The file is in system/framework/services. Not a big deel just anoying feature that sometimes wakes me up in the middle of the night (thanks samsung)

My phone has been going black (looks like it's off) now on the 2nd day of this ROM. A battery pull is all that will reset it so that I can press the power button to turn it back on. It will not reset or turn on prior to the battery pull. I did get an error message about this Kernel when starting an app at one time that indicated that the app could not run because the Kernel did not support IPv6, which was odd, but that was only one time after a reboot.

have the same problem, but it occurs even with different roms/kernals, starting to get more and more frequent also, I never have gotten any errors though
