[ROM] ACE ROM v2.0 (No Further EC05 Development)

Would you like to see the CIQ Removal in the next release of ACE?

I just reinstalled the ROM and still did not see SetCPU installed. Am I missing something?

I decided to install SetCPU 2.11 in the meantime to do additional testing. It still only gave a max of 1Ghz regardless of profile selection.

BTW, what is the purpose of the "Stock EB13 Dual Filesystem [EXT4/RFS] Kernel (Credit Dameon87 - xda developers) (Flash in CWM 3.0.0.6)" from post #2? Does it provide better performance/compatibility?

Interesting, mine caps at 1Ghz with no option to go to 1.2. What version are you using? I am using 2.1.0.

I have set cpu version 2.1 as well and genocide .3 which is in the rom and can clock to 1.2 ghz no problem. I leave at 1 ghz though since it is snappy at that

Question: I have all of the Genocide, Black Theme and ACE 1.7 zips on the hard drive and have the EB13 Deodexed DUALFS (pre-rooted) zip already on my Epic with CWM 3.0.6. I want to now flash ACE 1.7 with Genocide to it but have a few questions:

Is this going to keep the bulk of my phone's data intact or am I going to have to restore from Titanium? Will my contacts, K9 email and all that jazz be "intact"?
I "backed up the current ROM" using ROM Manager. If I want/need to flash back to the way my phone is now, is that backup effective and functional?
I HATE having to go in and re-connect all of my apps after a backup and have [yet] to find a way to do it all at once. Will that be needed if I flash ACE?
I personally love the idea of flashing roms and this is the only one I've felt excited about doing. I just really don't like spending hours having to reset something so trying to get a little help on the front end before diving in. Not a noob to Android but I am to the whole 'flashing' thingy. Too nice of a day outside to be sitting here fixing a phone, if you know what I mean?! :-)

SetCPU is a paid app - you'll have to buy it on the Market or use the free Overclock Widget instead.

Quick question, I wanna try Twilight in place of Genocide. Do I just flash it in CWM as is, or do I need to remove Genocide or anything first?

I'm not positive if the wireless tether version 2.0.7 works but the newest version
Wireless Tethering version 3.0 pre 11, worked fine for me the other day. I believe another visitor also confirmed the newest version worked well too. Use the link I provided in the OP to get to Wireless Tethering downloads at Google.

Just to report back on wireless tethering, installed the google wifi tether v. 3.0 pre11 experimental (Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code).

Been using the past several days ... happy to report no issues. Works quickly, smoothly with ACE.

Look forward to Google releasing a final version.

Flash it in CWM just as you would a ROM, NO WIPE REQUIRED for flashing kernels, themes, add ons.

When I try and flash twilight it gives me: can't copy META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary. And then aborts.

Not sure on that one buddy. I will check it out over night into tomorrow see if I get the same.

@all

Just to let everyone know I am in the process of testing the CIQ removal on ACE as we speak. I will report in over the next day to let you all know how its doing, but so far so good with the current setup from v1.7 with the CIQ removal added and running the Twilight Zone kernel.

Flashed Twilight and seems to be running fine. Quandrant scores over 1800+ and SetCPU speeds up to 1.2Ghz.

W00t! Would this be a simple CW zip flash or a ROM update?

Any idea what this error is all about? I flashed the black theme (which I think is far better btw) and the camera button remapping just fine, but I can't flash the kernel. I really need that dang keyboard lag fix.

I had the same issue trying to flash the v 1.0.3 of this kernel. Someone posted the question over at xda and it didnt get answered. So my guess is; that kernel only works with the syndicate/bonsai roms.

Flash the original Twilight Kernel, it works. Have not tried v1.0.3 to verify.

Aaahhh okay, good to know something hasn't gone wonky on my end then. I'll try an earlier build. I just need the keyboard fix badly.

EDIT: V1.01 flashed without a hitch, and I can actually type the same letter twice in a row now. Sweeeeet.

Grab the Twilight Zone v1.0.1, I think it is that will have the camera and keyboard fixes in it.
