Can't get screencap to load on tapatalk, and I'm at work so I can't access pc to use imageshack. But ya, beast provides black icon, black themed gmail. Good luck. (And ya, thanks Paul for teaching me HOW to do that. And how to theme. Truly grateful)

Fyi- this weekend, after I finish college work tonight, will be dedicated to trying to retheme gmail, fbook, market, and figure out how to port that darned overscroll glow effect from CM7 to be able to flash on top of ACE. Gmail is first project, so if you have a color scheme you'd like to see, pm me and ill TRY to make it work. Otherwise its just gonna be black and blue.

Paul, are you still working on the rom update w/ no CIQ or at this point just waiting for ECo5?

And if you wang just black icon, extract the gmail.apk from beast using 7zip (or similar utility). Icon should be in the drawable hdpi folder. (if not, it is in there.) Then just use something like adw launcher to make custom shortcut to gmail with that icon. I can make a new version of the gmail apk that is regular gmail butwith JUST the black icon, not blacked out completely like in beast tonight after work. It'll be about 1am EST before its rdy since I work till 12. pm if you wanted that instead >.<

What is the big push for ec05? I know its gonna hopefully be the version of froyo that is final, but is it really anticipated to be that different? Developers of every theme I have been playing with are saying the same thing (that they aren't updating until it comes out). I really hope its not too different. Idk if I'm even going to update to it. I've done so much customization to my phone idr what I've flashed lol. I don't want to have to start from scratch again. Itll take too much time from trying to learn to port keyboard and themes and such from other devices onto the epic haha.

There is no "big push" for EC05. In fact, I'm sure every chef/dev/themer would like EC05 to just go away and keep EB13. People just don't want to do work when they know they will have to redo that same work when this new update comes, simply because everyone is going to update to EC05 and they don't really have a choice to not support it.

I will take EC05 if it has resolved some things like the keyboard lag, camera fix, even some blue tooth fixes... Yes I know its already resolved in the kernels we have available but it would be nice to build a ROM and not have these issues to worry about.

Otherwise they can stick that EC05 you know where... Rumor says over at XDA that sprint id is like 50 megs of garbage added on.

The root loss is on a per rom basis. I think ACS puts root in the kernel. Thus if you change it; you lose root.

That's the last fing thing we need more bloat ware sad i thought they was just fixing the OTA errors and some other small things but then they add this... Just another thing to cause problems... After rooting and running Ace i plan on NEVER running stock again... Unless they pull there head out of there asses then i might but i doubt that will every happen...

sprint ID is CRAP. my gf has it on her phone. it suuuucks. its a way for people who dont know android to find apps. as if google, appbrain, and hec, even the market itself werent good enough?

@Gitit- totally agreed. i already vowed to never buy a phone from here on out that does not have permanent root and cwm.

and @Robo-I thought i could just change the icon in the apk.. apparently it did not want to cooperate. getting lots of FC now (all i changed was that stupid .png i cant figure it out ). best bet will be try using a custom shortcut. same look- no modding haha. ill figure it out eventually just got home from work and dont have time to spend all night doing it tonight. sry

@traumahawk, you say your gf has Sprint ID on her phone. Have you taken a look at her phone to see what the ".apk" name is and how big it is??

I've been getting a decent amount of locking up, especially after setting an alarm. The screen will be black with the Cap buttons lit up. I've tried limiting the CPU to 200MHz, but that didn't solve it. Any ideas? Could this be Kernel related?

What kernel are you running? What other modifications have you made to ACE since installing it?

Update: To those who were having the battery issues where the phone would black out or shut down, act strange below 20%. I ran my down 3 times over the last few days below 20% and my phone acted fine other than getting the low battery warning.

So what the issue some of you were having there I'm not sure.

getting the black icon to work from ter v1.8. i uninstalled the update and the icon went black but when the update was installed again it went back to regular.

i tried pulling the gmail app from emotionless beast but i did not get it to work

i did get the extra clock out of ter though

Was running the included Genocide. The only other Mod I'd done was the battery bar with percent, but it had also happened to me before flashing it.

In case it was an issue with the stock clock app, i downloaded Alarmdroid last night and it did the same thing.

I've just updated to the Twilight Kernel, and I have the clock app's timer set at 30m.

Keep an eye on it.. As far as toying with CPU settings as you were doing I leave mine at Conservative, 200-1000 ghz. Occasionally I bump it to the overclock just to play around.

If this doesn't resolve you might have to flash the ROM again, as I said this is abnormal behavior.

I would probably use this as my daily driver if the Plume widget scrolling would work, tried it out again today to no avail.
