Flashed all this last night and sadly have had a few problems so far :(
My phone just seems to lock up randomly. Screen stays on, can't turn it off, buttons don't do anything :( Only thing I can do is take out the battery. First time I've ever had any issues with an ACE rom.

So, what are my options? Do I go into Clockwork, wipe 3 times, and then flash just the ACE rom again, or flash the ECO5 modem and ACE rom again?

Would appreciate any help as my phone has crashed 3 times today already.

Try the genocide kernel, bonsai kernel, or baked snack kernel if you must. Most lockups are due to kernels not liking your device. Mine freezes constantly with genocide, but has been a rock with twilight..

I was having this same problem, and I found earlier in this thread that flashing a different kernel solves the freezing problem. I flashed the Twilight v1.0.4 kernel, and haven't had a freeze ever since.

Look a few pages back for the download link. Just flash the zip in cwm, and you're golden.

@DaveInFlorida, you heard them.. Try a different kernel. As I stated in the install instructions, I included the Twilight Zone v1.1.0 kernel and its good for most but some people have troubles so try the alternatives and k0nane from ACS (Syndicate) says try the Twilight Zone v1.0.4.

Nice to see you back Dave.

Thanks, will give that a try....by the way, I never left :) Been using ACE for quite a while now Paul :)

As ive said before, the Twilight kernel has been a rock for me, but it greatly reduced my battery life (kernels are also the most profound changers of battery life). I decided to give Genocide a shot again (since VisionKernel basically is Twilight), but this time I left SetCPU installed while also installing Voltage Control for manual UV. The scheduler had been set to cfq, when noop was the recommended one to use. I switched to noop, limited top frequency from 1.4Ghz to 1.0Ghz, and then manual undervolted to a LITTLE higher than before (that is, running a LITTLE bit higher voltages to aim for stability). Im now running:

100Mhz: 125mv undervolt
200Mhz: 100mv undervolt
Everything else: 50mv undervolt

And Genocide + ACE 2.0 has been a rock. Battery life has noticeably improved. I was losing about 5-6% every hour, and now im losing 1-2% per hour. This is course with the phone in standby- screen on kills phones no matter what kernel/software youve got..

Give Genocide a shot (especially if Twilight gives you freezes)- its pretty slick once you get the manual UV down. Cool thing is, if you go too low and have to battery pull, ACE 2.0 is journaled so nothings gonna go wrong (most likely). I tend to prefer the Twilight kernel in most ways though- I cant wait until they get manual UV :D

Is it possible for a ROM to cause extremely delayed text messaging? Been having that, but im not sure if its the network lately or the ROM. Changing kernels doesnt change anything, so im not sure..

can i use this theme on ACE 2.0? if so how would i do it? the instructions are confusing me a bit

I don't see why not. Just boot into CWM, make a backup first then wipe only cache & dalvik cache 3x and then flash the theme..

Ok, I have flashed ACE 2.0 ROM three times now and for whatever reason it will run fine for about 2 days and then freeze, I will do a battery pull and then its force close city. Everything that can force close does, I run fix permissions and it doesn't help. I have no idea what is going on! I have tried different kernels.

I have the occasional freeze but never have any FC issues from pulling the battery. Since release date I've maybe only had 1 FC that I can remember and oh half dozen or so freezes but a battery pull always brings me right back with no problems.

Are you restoring backups from Titanium or My Backup Root? Just seems odd that your getting FC's.

Let me start off by saying Ace is the only rom that I have had any interest in flashing. I have not been disappointed. I have not had one issue and to be honest I was not expecting to. Keep up the good work Paul, I expect your future roms to build on the success that you have achieve with Ace so far. I do have a request though: I am a big fan of Launcher Pro and was wondering if you thought about adding custom icons to the dock bar!?! Adding custom icons that corresponded with the wallpaper that you included would had got you a ten out of ten in my book. Since they were not included, your rom receive a 9.95, lmao! If this is something that you can accomplish, I need some lime green ones to go with the lime green droid wallpaper!

Yea it is weird! I tried flashing with and without using titanium or my backup root but still the same issues!

Paul,

Different kind of issue. My battery is currently at 15% but in spare parts it shows my battery at 3600mv. I run a 3600mav double life battery. Something seems wrong. At full charge this battery reads 4100mv but it's saying it's low to plug in, yet has over 3000mv left. Is there a alogarythem that is not reading this double life battery correctly? Because the readings seem on par with a standard 1500 battery...

Sorry I really don't know an answer for this one. Still have stock battery here.

Maybe do a Google on it and see what you come up with.

Even check the General sections of Android Centrals forums, do a search in them for the extended batteries.

Doing a fix permissions seemed to fix any FC's I've had, as for the battery issues, have you tried doing a wipe battery stats?

That would be the only thing I can recommend is do a full charge then boot into CWM and wipe battery stats and see how it calbrates from there.
