ROM ALERT: Baked Snack v1.6 [update6]

hmm i never noticed a problem with the contacts or anything. but i actually got over the rom and switched to aosp and kept the kernel : D

I was thinking about doing something similar - take the Baked Snack kernel and use a different ROM. How is it running for you? I'm assuming most of the Baked Snack goodies are related to the kernel and not the ROM itself.

its running perfect. i havent tried putting it back at 1.3ghz but i got over that. as 1.2 is plenty fast plus im probably getting a little extra battery.

right now im using schizopunks epic experience 1.2.01. good thing he took out the mixup kernel : ) im enjoying this setup for the time being
i like how all the roms are doing that now because we can mix it up.

and yeah the way i looked at it is the roms are pretty much some extra/missing apks and a theme. as long as their all deodexed and zipaligned were solid.

Does anyone else have problems while using this, using music player apps. I've tried doubletwist, mixzing, and the stock app and all won't let me move to a different song. I can pick the first song, but after that it will nto move on, it will just freeze up when the song finishes

My music player is fine - you didn't happen to uninstall the DRM files did you? Cause when I did that all my music platers broke.

Look on your SD card in a folder called "app" - the overclock widget apk is in there.

but my music player is fine too.

Alright I just flashed bakedsnack1.3 and everything seems to be running good except for 1 thing. I cannot setup my google account. Anybody else having this problem? It says it cannot establish a connection etc. This happened to me with my stock epic and I had to take it in to sprint store, they reset the phone and then It worked. Anybody having this problem?

Also, how have bakedsnackers set up the cpu with oc widget?

Hm I've never had a problem signing in to my Google account. Try signing into YouTube, that may automatically add your account.

As for the widget I can't help you there as I've only used SetCPU.

i havent had any problem adding my google account.
although a few days ago, the syncing was down. the servers werent syncing with phones cause they were down. and they may have been the problem. so try again, if that doesnt work, you doing something wrong. did you change your password or something? if so make sure you change it on your phone too.

i dont think your asking how to use the oc widget, so i have mine set up at 1.2 ghz

dont put it at 1.3 ghz unless you want to being taking hte back off your phone several times

go to the app called "my files" find the file that says "app" click on it. click on nfl.apk and install it

It is quick but unstable. I cannot run it at the full 1300mhz without my screen flashing blacks and running at 1200mhz the Touchwiz launcher constantly shuts down and gives me an error.

It was unstable for me as well at 1.3GHz. I had no problem at 1.2GHz, but I never used the TW launcher so not sure about that one. Why not use ADW or LauncherPro?

I have had the same problem. I get 3 or 4 TWlauncher force closes a day. I still think it is a great ROM. At the risk of going briefly off topic...what is it that you most like about using ADW or LauncherPro that you can't do with TW?

i used to like adw or launcher because its so customizable. thats probably why everyone likes it. you can change the dock and the app drawer and everything. thats literally the only reason why. and then you get the people that say that it makes your phone run faster/smoothly. which i dont notice a difference. -if your phones running slow, its gonna run slow.

i rarely get a force close on touch wiz and i could care less as long as it does not effect anything im doing. which it does not.

i actually kind of like the touchwiz dock. wish it was customizable on the epic tho. but its fine.

+1 for above - the main draw to use a 3rd party launcher is customization. Our version of TW does not allow you to change your dock or the amount of home screens. LauncherPro and ADW do, along with many more customization options.

make sure you wipe user data and dalvik cache from clockworkmod before flashing the rom. i used vlc remote 2 days ago on baked snack and it worked flawlessly. i don't use pandora so can't comment on that.

Also, using Juiceplotter, I noticed my average battery temperature going from ~23 degrees C pre-OC to ~32 degrees C post-OC. I set min 200 max 1200 using the included overclocking widget. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am having some stability issues with this ROM now. I am getting frequent force closes on TWlauncher and occassional lock ups. The freezing may be related to a specific app (slacker).

What specific Set CPU settings are people using with this ROM that they are having success with?

Not wiping data may cause a more buggy/unstable ROM. If you aren't having any problems and you didn't wipe, then don't worry about it. Minor increase in temperature isn't a big deal.

Thanks. I did go down to 1.2Ghz. At 1.3Ghz my phone would lock up with 10 minutes depending on the activity.

I think I changed the Set CPU settings and that may also have some impact on these issues. Please let me know what has been working for you.
