[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

So far I am having a blast with all the goodie updates, new AOPK build 38, Franco r180 and suggested tweaks by dmmarck. Galaxy life is good! Wish I had done it sooner!

If I had a dollar for every time I saw that in here I would have a couple of SIII's, a One X, and a Jaguar. :)

I'm glad everything is working out. Have you started theming yet?

Well with the theme chooser in settings, the Play Store has become the best source ;).

Raggy - the different governors basically scale your power up and down according to different patterns - they do other things as well that's just the simplest way to explain it. You can read about each of them if you google the name and put governor after it.

essentially, how fast it ramps up, what the maximum speed it operates at while asleep, does it deep sleep, etc. That kind of thing.

Just updated to build 38 this evening. I noticed a quicker response and process. Galaxy life is good indeed.

Aokp build 38 with franco nightly 181. Respectful numbers I think

What program are you guys using that shows the colored bar chart, and what do the numbers mean?

The program is called "quadrant". The different colors are the different tests that are performed, such as CPU, GPU, 2d, 3d, etc.

You guys having any issues with data streaming when the screen is off on b38? I made sure wifi pm_fast is enabled in my kernel settings. I haven't tried to stream wifi with the screen off, but 3g/4g definitely cuts out when using Google play music.

I even flashed back to M3 and same thing, so I'm pretty sure it's not the kernel.

Didn't see anything in Franco's or AOKP's threads on rootz/xda. Anyone else?

Mine seems to be fine, however I dont think ive tried streaming anything with the screen off.. let me try that....

Did it matter if it was on wifi or 3/4g? or did it do it with both?

Didn't try it on wifi yet, but mobile data stops every time with the screen off. I forgot to see if any default settings were changed in b38, so I'll check there first.

Edit: so I checked, and power saver is not enabled. I'll do a cache wipe and try again. May just go back to b37 if that doesn't fix it.

I haven't had such issues, but I also haven't spent heavy time with my phone since I initially flashed it.

Thanks guys. One way or another, I'll fix it.

@cyber, I always have wifi pm_fast checked in Franco's app. I thought the same, and double checked to make sure I still had it enabled. I think that's strictly for wifi though, and these screen off drops happen on 3g or 4g. Haven't tried wifi yet. No wifi here at work.

Speaking of... I need to get back to it! Have a great day fellas.
