[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

I may do a clean wipe and install this a bit later. Explain the notification sounds thing?

It lets you set a time interval during which additional messages coming in won't trigger a notification sound. Sometimes I will get a quick succession of text messages from someone and having my phone chime five or six times in a row can be very annoying.

Holy hell my phone has gone to crap. AOKP M5 and Frano Kernel M4. The past few days it has gotten extremely slow and choppy, apps keep crashing, gtalk, sms and gmail take awhile to load. Waking the phone up is unresponsive at times. No idea what has happened

and damn tiger woods won't work

Have you tried wiping cache and Dalvik?

Reboot didn't do much when I did it the other day. Ill try wiping cache/dalvik

Reboot is always good to clear stuff out when you've got a lot of uptime or been doing a lot on it. Cache/dalvik wipe as suggested might help as well.

You can definitely do with a kernel upgrade.. If you're a franco fan I suggest r181, the newest one (r185) had some tweaks that caused excessive battery drain for myself and some others agreed.. I've got 181 on my dropbox here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/47300967/franco.Kernel-r181.zip

You can flash that without wiping anything, or wipe cache/dalvik if you want to.

What also might help is in AOKP Rom Control > Performance.. Set Free Memory to 100mb and check Set at boot.. Then under Start-up Tweaks check Zipalign apks and Enable sd boost, and reboot.

For Franco kernel my preferred settings are:
Min CPU 729
Max CPU 1344
Ondemand governor

Finally.. go through your apps and see what you've got that might just be using up free memory. Hard to suggest without knowing what you have but there's plenty of junk apps out there you don't need that can slow you down.

Hope that helps!

The caller Id on incoming calls is not working since I flashed build 39 last night. How can I fix this?

Did you do a clean or dirty install of 39?

Hmmm...try flashing GAPPs again?

I'd be surprised if it was gapp related. Its definitely working fine here.. you didn't do a dirty flash but I have to ask if you restored any system data? If you did, bingo.

If not, hard to say.. possibly just a bad flash, might want to redownload, wipe clean and flash again...

Do I want to do 39 or ya think a new milestone is on the horizon?

Decisions Decisions.

I'm waiting on a Milestone ;-)

No idea why you'd wait. The "nightlies" are stable, sometimes newer features don't work 100% but otherwise the ROMs are rock solid.
