[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

noob question - what do i do with the bug reports in aokp? i get one a day on average, it saves a screenshot and generates an email, but its adressed to me... what am i supposed to do with it?

thanks

Omigod, I've never heard of that. I am a die hard aokp user and have never gotten anything like that. Can you take a screenshot(s) of what happens and post?

Thought the same thing. Everything checked, GPS on. Still no go

hmmm, I'm trying to backtrack now and see what I did

I had the same issue, could not access any GPS-related apps (Maps, Yelp, etc etc)

I eventually ended up opening a program that forced me into the location menu, I checked all the boxes and it worked from then on

Maybe a reboot?

okay so I have this flashed now... and this is on 4.0.3 ? Why not 4 leaked update?

You flashed an older version, new one is on 4.0.4

will do it next time it happens... though... nothing really HAPPENS... nothing crashes, no slowdowns, the phone vibrates (2 short pulses - bzz bzz), it takes a screencap (though, looking at the screenshot folder, its all just the lockscreen), and composes a bug mail email. strangely, the To: is to my own email. it attaches the bug report txt file, and the screenshot.

the bug reports are ~6MB each, and are basically a system dump. not sure what i need to look for to see what the issue is.

it happens daily, sometimes 2x a day

Flashed this today. Been rooted and running liquid for a month. Figured I would try something different. So far they seem about the same but its good. Anyone who had tried both can give me some examples of what might be better in this from and some tips and tricks?

That is the strangest thing I have ever heard. Not sure if it's rom related or what since I am on aokp and this issue would have surely been brought up before.
You can try doing a factory reset in cwm and/or reinstalling the rom.
There is also a bug forum for aokp on rootz:
Bug Tracker - RootzWiki
You can try going to their irc channel and asking there.

This has happened very rarely to me the past 4 months

not sure where it would get fubar'd - i went from locked/unrooted 402, unlocked then rooted, then installed b34 then m5. nandroid/wipe between each, but i didnt wipe davlik/cache, so not sure what could be tripping it up. maybe an app?

Could someone explain the performance settings for the chip voltage etc. I am using ondemand thinking it best for battery without sacrificing to much performance. Any thoughts?

I'm on Franco's and have been using conservative. I really haven't noticed any performance issues at all but i don't game too much though.

if you dont wipe cache and dalvik (especially dalvik) you have a good chance of running into problems.

when flashing roms, rule of thumb is:
rom to a different rom = wipe data, cache, dalvik, and format /system for good measure.
rom to incremental update of the same rom = wipe cache and dalvik. (like, aokp b21 to aokp b22). then if it doesnt play nice, reflash after data, cache, and dalvik wipe.

guess i have to add the cache/dalvik wipes to the routine :p

i am using AppExtractor to pull apps/sms/etc from nandroids. could it be an app or app data that is not playing nice with aokp or the restore??

edit: so i actually decided to read one of the bug report emails as it came up and noticed that the body of the email said something about 4.0.2 ICL53F keys.... why would a 4.0.4 rom generate 4.0.2 reports?
