stupid question, but if I wanted to install a "nightly" am I doing the whole factory reset process again? I have to assume no, but I dont know how to install a "Nightly" without this.

You can just wipe dalvik..some say format system too...can't hurt...

I would say wipe cache / davlick / format system and flash ROM, but if you run into bugs I would re-flash with a clean install,

two quick questions:
I am running BB and see that there is a new nightly as of a few minutes ago. Does this new one require a full factory reset or can I just wipe cache and delvick (is that spelled right?)

Also, on BB, I don't have that fancy new two-finger pull down notification sweetness? Is that common?

One issue I have been having is with my gallery. When I take a picture, it will not always be available in the gallery right away, and sometimes I can't even access it from the camera right after a take it. I installed SDRescan (which was useful on other phones) and that does the trick without waiting for the next rescan cycle, but it is a bit annoying.

Anyone else with this issue?

Well I found one of my answers from the BB site. It says

Upon initial install of my ROM, everything must be wiped (wipe data/factory reset). Subsequent installs of nightly builds only require wiping dalvik cache and cache.

Perfectly normal. We don't have an external SDcard, but recoveries still check--why? I have no idea. But it's normal.

Thanks for the assurance of the backup looking odd, cause when I was trying to restore an earlier backup cause something wrong happened to my build I was on, the recovery was saying something about "could not load data/missing data" or something like that...so all I did was flash back to stock and re-rooted....so, I don't know...

Downloaded and installed from a mirror without incident. It feels even faster swiping between home screens, but for now I'm chalking that up to placebo effect.

Does anyone know what's new? I've looked at Peter's website with the change log, but it still says July 14th, and I can't identify what (if anything) was added to the change list.

One thing I noticed was that there is now a 'Reboot' option when you hold the power button....still searching for what's new until changelog is up, and probably some bug fixes as well.

okay, so did i do something wrong? I downloaded the new nightly build, then wiped cache and delvick and now i'm back to square one. Does downloading new updates always require you to start rebuilding from new?
Is this right? I couldn't even get google play to start downloading my apps? Confused NOOB here.

As anyone noticed after flashing 7/19 how much quicker reboots take.

I went from 3-4min to boot, now takes 30sec or less. I'm dig'n that.

This is what I could find that's new on 7/19:

GlobalActions: add reboot options
Add Verizon proprietaries for Toro

And maybe updated Gapps too.
