[ROM][AOSP][10/31][JB] Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus

Re: [ROM][AOSP][8/7][JB] Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus

Is Bugless NAND protected? I'm setting up avast! and I'm not sure which method I need. Direct write, recovery image method? I'm using the 7-23-12 version of BB.

Re: [ROM][AOSP][8/7][JB] Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus

Hi Folks,

Running the 8/7/12 build and I noticed the following occasionally:
Texts are delayed even though I'm within 4G/3G coverage.
Calls are not ringing through and instead going straight to voice mail.
Power button will not wake the phone up until the 3rd of 4th try.

I never noticed these on ICS BB 4.0.4

Did you do a full wipe before installing?

Every time I set my ringtone to an mp3 song, it resets to "unknown ringtone". Im pretty sure this never happened before BB. Anyone know why this is happening? im on 7/24

I haven't seen or heard anything. I'm sure when there's a reason to update he will. I'm not sure what's been added to AOSP lately but I think we have r4 which is the latest.

I think he probably is back to school so maybe longer between any updates?

Do I need to flash anything besides the actual rom? JB bootloader or new radio?

JB bootloader is a good idea, but not absolutely necessary. As far as radios, and as long as you have the 4.0.4 radios, you don't need to flash them.

Great. Thx. Couple questions. Can I use WiFi hotspot in settings or do I need another app like foxfi? Will my market apps auto restore?

Re: [ROM][AOSP][8/7][JB] Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus

I would suggest using titanium backup. Yes, the WiFi hotspot in settings will work once installed.

If I nandroid bugless beast does it do a full backup including apps or is titanium needed? Thx

A nandroid includes all your apps and settings and your kernel. Only thing it doesn't touch is radios and bootloader. :)

And regarding Bugless updates.. as the others said, Pete doesn't really go for adding features.. since its a mostly stock ROM designed for stability then I wouldn't expect him to update much if everything is good as is.

I'm getting an hour and a half screen time before dead on this build. Possibly Google Now killing battery?

+1 especially if it's been a while since you've done that. It seems like flashing nightly over nightly over nightly eventually leads to problems

Still getting sleep of death sporadically (once or twice a week) after clean install of the 8/7 build. Might try out another ROM for a bit to see if I have similar problems.

Try a new kernel; that stuff is largely (97%) kernel related.

Dmmarck,

Do you have the link or specific file I need for that Trinity kernel you've been raving about? Had BB installed for a few days and battery drains very quickly on stock kernal. Went to post 4 as you stated but not sure on which one I need for battery life. Also, do I need set CPU or just flash and go? Thx again!

Re: [ROM][AOSP][8/7][JB] Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus

So where are the wifi radios?
I tried Deeper Chocolate ROM from Top Hat. I couldn't live with how it crippled my camera. So I jumped to Buglessbeast. It's wifi is useless. It won't stay connected. It shows strong connection bars. In settings it says connected. No data though. If I make a call it'll start flowing again, but not for long. I only have 3g at home, and no wifi.
Top Hat released a flashable JRO03O radio. I was excited to flash a fix for my wifi. No luck though. Wifi radios must be in the ROM or kernel. :-\

Try franco's latest kernel. r246. It has WiFi patches.

And honestly, it sounds like it's either your device or networks. I've never had an issue with WiFi.
