[ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.5.5 [Full Open Source]

You guys with nothing better to do on this fake "holiday" ought to be in for a nice treat tonight ;)
I don't know if I'm allowed to hype too much, and I'm not 100% on tonight but its shaping up that way...

I may wait til this weekend to flash it. See if there's any bugs. I'm sure it'll be perfectly fine. I'll get some scientific feedback from our android gineau pigs. I'm not really in a big rush to update either. I'm still on 1.1.4 and I'm perfectly happy with it.

No fake holiday love for me!

OT....i read somewhere that nova now doesn't have to be a system app to show widgets.
Tried it...didn't work with version 14 which is a beta....just a bit of info regarding that app.

Lol yeah I think the team wanted a little more time to test/debug..

What I saw regarding Nova is that, at least starting with beta 14, it just needs root access instead of being a system app. Haven't tested it as I don't think it makes a difference, at least it doesn't to me. I just keep installing it as a system app.

Funny thing is I NEVER add widgets by scrolling through the app-to-widget drawers.. I just long press the homescreen since that's what we did on android previously.. but of course I couldn't bare the thought of losing some functionality I'd NEVER use so I have to keep Nova installed as a system app, haha :P

+1....I don't use the scroll to widgets feature.....I do it the old way but because it's there I want it to work :)

Same here. I'm used to the old days of gingerbread and froyo. I thought it was odd when I first picked up my nexus and found I had to go into the drawer to pull Widgets out.

I used Wug's toolkit to unlock and root my phone with ease... I then tried to flash a rom through rom manager and everything downloaded ota just fine. I installed codename android and things still seemed just fine but I've been stuck in the boot animation screen for 20 mins. The toolkit says its waiting on device so I basically cant do anything? Anyone have any advice on what my next step should be? (Ive already tried the battery pull)

Don't use ROM manager, lol.

Is the ROM on your internal sd card? I'm not familiar with where RM stores it.. Did you make a backup before trying to flash?

Pull battery.. replace.. hold vol up+down and power to get to the bootloader. Use vol down to scroll to recovery, hit power to select.. hopefully this will get you into CWR. From there I would check to see if the ROM is on your sd card, you can go to Instal zip from sd card and scroll around to find it. If its there, back out, wipe data/factory reset, then install it and reboot.

If its not on your sd card tho.. go to backup/restore and see if you have a backup, if you do.. restore it, when your up and running again download the ROM straight to your sd card and install following instructions above.

Let me know how this works out and if your still stuck..
