[ROM] ApeX for Droid X - An AOSP Experience

You might have to go in your calendar app and delete all data, worth a shot. When you flashed the rom did you follow the directions to the T?

-Place file on your sdcard. Bootstrap recovery and reboot recovery

-Navigate to mounts and storage. In the following order: FORMAT system, data, and cache

-mount /system <<<-- THIS IS A CRUCIAL STEP, please don't miss it!

-Return to previous menu and install .zip from sd card

-Choose ApeX and install!

ok you know how you listed those steps? couldnt you just use ROM manager?

Not sure about that, I got those steps from the originator of this thread.

Try it and let us know.

My perception is that Roms are not all created equal and that if there is SPECIAL instructions laid out for us to install them (especially from the developer) we should follow them.

Anybody out there use Rom MAnager to flash Apex?

Update!
VictorMolina15 found the Apex within Rom MAnager!!! Nice! Went to check it out and there it was........

Yep... did all that. Granted the first time I didn't do the mount system thing, but I wiped everything again when I did it right the second time.

Unless someone else here could offer a better solution, I would go back to stock 2.2 and start all over. Not the leaked 2.2 but the stock 2.2 found on Rom Manager. (I think I posted this 5 times on other threads today LOL)
Then in Rom Manager to my surprise (I just found this out today from within this thread) is the Apex ROm. Where can you go wrong now, eh?

I used Rom Manager to download and install this Rom. I haven't had any problems. The only thing that didn't work was that it wouldn't load it automatically to install so I had to find the .zip on my SD card. This has made my phone so much faster. I love it.

Hey guys. I just installed Apex tonight. The install went easily with Rom Manager. But now I have a black screen and just a status bar. Does anyone know about a fix for this?

When you dl and installed the rom did you wipe your phone clean first? If not wipe and load again. That could cause your issue. If you did wipe just try and install again.

I just installed the ApeX RC2 rom yesterday, and everything's going great, execept that now the Fast Web Installer says that "Unfortunately your phone model is currently not support due to a bug in the Android operating system. We are working on a solution for this." Any fixes for this?

If your running apex I made this for myself but I share :). Replace your m logo with this.

so... this seems to not like me. I had successfully installed ApeX earlier today. It restarted and for some reason took me back to 928's theme. I didnt think much of it, bootstraped and recov boot. formated system, data, and cache. Mount /system. Im stuck at M screen, AGAIN. i think ApeX is not for me. I just got replacement phone today and its already bricked. Oh well, its a risk themers has to take :D.

That stinks! Did you dl and drop the file on your sd card or did you apply using rom manager? I tried both without issue.

I'm doing that now with sbf file only found on TBH app (I think it's on the app I could of gotten it from the web somewhere), see if it works....I wasn't much impressed w/ the Apex 1.1 but I could be to picky here....It's rebooting as I type this so lets see if I bricked the dam phone......

well looks like I'm stuck on 2.2.1 for now..........****. Not a bad thing I guess but missing my Themed out settings and all.....We'll see what comes up ahead.
