[ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS (ZVD)

It should be the same on CM9. Sorry, I forgot that Quattrimus wasn't just AOKP hahaha.

For MMS, you can try replacing the apk in /system/app with this one here: [APP][ICS] Modded Mms.apk v1.3 - Check OP for features - xda-developers

Then reboot into recovery, wipe cache and reboot. No guarantees this will work, but I know there had been issues in the past with the actual MMS.apk being the problem. Also, this modified version Messaging is much nicer anyway, IMO (:

I'm gonna try this right now and let you know.

Also I would like to get my wifi tether working again but the other just mentioned about that so I'm gonna search xda for that.

I couldn't get mms either and it wouldn't split long messages. So I gripped gosms and everything works great now. Wireless hotspot didnt work till I got an app wireless tether off xda. Not wifi tether, that ones on the market and didn't work for me. :p
By chance would you have a link?

Prowlingfox, it hasn't seemed to fix it. Does look way better though!

And Pmoneyprix, would you happen to have a link to that wireless tether you used?

Nah, no change; not a bad APK though.

Ah well the modded MMS.apk was worth a shot :P I'm on one of the recent nightlies with that modded MMS.apk and mms is working for me. And yeah, it's much sexier than the stock mms.apk haha

The last nightly I flashed was 7/23 so maybe thats my problem. I downloaded gosms though and its working that way. I thought I wouldnt like it but its pretty nifty. Its got a lot of stuff to it. And its got an ICS theme so looks kinda like the stock messaging. And if you dont like the app its fine because you hardly have to open it cause its got a quick reply pop up. Im liking it. Is there a way I can move it to the bottom bar? Or even better leave the stock messaging icon on the bottom but have it open gosms instead?

I think it depends on the launcher you use. I use nova prime and on mine you just drag it there and longhold tap it to select a replacement shortcut or icon. I use to do it with go launcher ex when I used that. I don't know if you can do that all stock though, maybe if you edit the configuration or whatnot somehow

Nova prime is where its at! My dock slides like my screen so my fav apps are on the dock. Keeps the home screen neat:p

Nova is a lovely launcher; I use it too. IMO it smashes Trebuchet and Apex when it comes to customization and performance.

Nova prime. Allows you to hide apps that you have on your homescreens and has a few other pluses. Get it on market. Just look up "nova"

About the rom, I have quattrimus running on zvj and am very pleased. Everything works and seems quite stable. Sms, mms both work however Sprint's network is a pia sometimes with mms (not rom issue). Only thing to watch for is to not over tax the hardware. Don't run Pandora and navigation... it'll reboot. But that's not a rom issue either. It's a hardware issue.

Many thanks for ics on this little $26 emergency phone.

I have an OV so I'm not very familiar with the sprint basebands. Do you know how compatible zvd and zvh are? Is it typical for roms to run on both equally well?

I think I'll have to check out the kernel source for both and compare them...

The zv* is a baseband where d, h, and j are the different bands.

You can install any rom on your optimus but without a tweak a zvd rom will not work with Sprint if your phone is zvj and vice versa.

Edit: Noticed you have a V. I don't think the V has zvj, but instead only zvd, which this rom will work with. If you want to use a zvj based rom you'll have to flash a tweak found in this forum. (I didn't write the code but I can verify it works as advertised)

I can tell you didn't look at the name of the person who posted before you he ported this rom so I'm sure he knows most of that.

At tdm I'm not sure how well they do run but I know there is a patch so you can run any rom on any radio now. I was testing CM10 on zvd using the patch and it worked great.

Hmm. I'll have to give that a try.

Also, I can't seem to find the changelogs anymore.

Nope, didn't look at all. Saw a question and answered. Small screen= not everything shows.

But to further answer compatibility... I've been putting this rom through every app I can think of using myself and everything works, except Gemini calendar, for now.
