[ROM] CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1

nevermind my last post, i figured everything out, but have a different question. Do you have to flash every nightly in order, or if you miss one can you just skip to the latest nightly?

I had two problems running nightly 14:

1. when in a call, the person couldn't hear me, but I could hear them
2. I have a PC and a mac, and when I connect to my PC, everything is fine. However, when I connect to my mac, the phone says it's charging, but the notification for USB Debugging and saying that the USB is connected doesn't show up.

I flashed back to 13, and the first problem was fixed, but I'm still having number 2.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I'm assuming you have the Nexus S drivers installed on your Mac? Was it working before?

The call issue is common on build 14, so I would let other people test out the next one before flashing it (nandroid FTW)

no, that was the first time i tried using it on the mac, but I can't find the drivers now and it says on this website that for mac and linux, no drivers are needed... if they are, where can i find them?

I'm not sure then, the drivers come through the sdk, which says you don't need them. Do you have the sdk installed on the mac?

I'm curious, what is the advantage to update to the latest nightly? I have only flashed to CM7 once (from Serendipity 6.4) when it was on ROM Manager (free) so I have 05162011-NIGHTLY-Captivate when it was TeamHack.I'm just wondering if I should flash the latest nightly or stay where I'm at. Thanks!

I don't think there's been any big updates since 5/16, but if you want to most recent features of CM, then updating is worth it. Just make a backup first.

quick question....downlaoded rom manager premium, under the download roms menu there is nothing showing up under the premium tab. Isn't this where cm7 nightlies would be?

anyone have any thoughts on this?

Sent from my extremely awesome Captivate.

Nightly buildbot has been down for a few days, so that's probably why. Atinm said it should be up soon, and there's a couple builds up on the Team Hacksung site.

Just updated to 32 and oddly enough after I rebooted I lost root status. I find that kind of odd, but would it be safe to say that I could just go ahead and root it again?

I would think so, but the Captivate root method won't work on Gingerbread.

According to one of the devs, you haven't actually lost root, the issues just have to do with some features they're implementing to allow the ROM to be used without root. Have you checked it through terminal?

Personally, I'm just sitting tight until the issues are sorted out. If you have a backup, I would go back to that.

Yeah I've checked it through terminal. I'm not too worried I just think that its odd that it would do that. Unless one of the features they implement is the ability to take screenshots without an app then I won't go back, otherwise I might.

FYI, downloading SU through ROM Manager, rebooting into recovery, and installing it from clockwormod>downloads>goo-inside.me fixes the root problem.

Re: [ROM] Cyanogenmod 7 Nightlies!

A little birdie told me CM 7.1 RC1 should be coming tonight, Galaxy S phones included ;).

And by birdie, I mean Gerrit entry :p.
