Give me a point to root? Run faster, My phone runs fine enough. Phones are for calling, and smartphones are for browser, what does rooting do for my browser or my calling. Nothing. 10% of the smartphone population are nerds who root and want to have a phone that runs fast, oh really, like some clean rom and 1.2 ghz compared to 1.0 ghz when clockworked makes such a huge difference, please.

take a hike dude. go hop in bed with steve jobs, and give all your freedom to the goverment. it MY phone, and i want to do with it as i please. im not overclocked, i am however undervolted. i can change how my phone looks and feels. i have full control over whats on my phone. if you dont to root, dont. but take your hostility twords those of us that do somewhere else. no one appreciates your insults.

yea dude gunnermikes right take a hike. if thats how you feel then why are you on these forums. i am not over clocked but undervolted running wiht blacckhole 3.0 i am much happier with the phone now. its the way i want the phone with out all of the vzw bloatware on it and only what i have on it. so again take a hike if you dont want to do all of this there is no reason to be on the forums.

I got my mother a Fascinate for Christmas this year because she loved playing with mine so much. Based on what she uses a phone for (calls, text, email, light browsing to look something up on the fly) I had no intention of rooting or changing anything to hers. The first thing she says to me when we got it activated... "Get this Verizon crap off my phone that I'm never going to use! I want mine to run like yours!"

All rooting does is allow you to modify the locked file system. Thats it.

Its what you do from there is whats interesting. You can modify all kinds of functionality, looks, and even eliminate the extreme lag that this phone comes with new.

SenseLauncher (ADW THEME): You have already taken the time to leave TouchWiz and added that to your profile so people know. So your obviously a hypocrite in my eyes from the git go.
If your phone doesn't lag and your not interested in more functionality or changing the default look of your phone then move on.

He's just talking out his ass.. trolling. His statements are obviously from someone who has never even had the experience of an overclocked phone or had to deal with extreme lag.

Before I rooted and got my first Super Clean ROM I was posting on these forums about how much I hated this phone. I would get off a phone call and be in the dialer app- I'd hit the Home button.. nothing. It'd hit it again... nothing. I'd hit that and the Back button over and over for about 15 seconds and then whammo all those keypresses started catching up and a bunch of screens would fly by (from hitting back button alot). That is severe lag. The phone was frozen for 15 seconds. It was like that in leaving most apps but it was the worst in the dialer app. The phone was very unresponsive.
When I hit a button I want the function to perform immediately.

Through some guidance from helpful people on these forums they helped me thru my frustration while ignoring my negativity.

Once I got my first Clean Rom and new kernel my phone was responding almost immediately with almost no lag. Just like I was used to coming from the iPhone.

I realized how easy it was to modify the phone once I had the know how so I started trying new things. I was on a mission to eliminate lag completely so I tried alot of different kernels. Became a fan of the Stupid Fast kernels because there was no pause whatsoever leaving the dialer app.

I never got into themes but I did find modifying my battery icon to display a number percent value to be useful.

Without the modding scene I wouldn't have a GPS that gets a lock in under 10 seconds. I had to wait up to 5-10minutes before.

Naysay all you want but that guy is going to get his updates, change his wallpaper and his launcher, try different apps from the market, etc. all while criticising people who wanted more of that?

Its just a mini computer that has been locked up for the good of the mainstream so they don't break their phones. If you want more out of your mini computer, you come to forums like this.

He's obviously in the Hack section for a reason. I just want to hear him say it.
