I have that restart problem at 806 too, but if I run the CPU stress everything is fine. I changed it to 768 and it doesn't reboot anymore, try taking it down a few notches for a few days and see if you still get reboots. Doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not a developer. Can anyone else shed some light on this situation?

Aight.. so i'm trying it at 787 and seeing what happens. i mean i been running on 806 since gROM came out. and on every release up till now!.. soooo this reboot stuff started happening LAST week. but i don't know. lets see how 787 treats me. the random reboot really isn't an issue with me. happens mostly when i'm listening 2 music 20% of the time MAYBE 2x a week. other then that. i can deal with the reboots. but! its always good to have a phone run with no issues if it b major or minor.

THX 4 the advice btw

EDIT: 787 checked out fine. havent had a reboot YET!! advice for taking it down a few pegs was golden! thx

Yes, the shearing has been noted before. It appears for some but not others. For example. It happened to me one single time. Just once, ever. But then never again. Some people see it all the time. I think there are hardware revisions that differ ever so slightly that are causing it more for some than others.

More power than sROM? Could be.

It seems the problem was that the ROM didn't get installed properly.
I reinstalled it in the same way as the original, and now i don't have those problems anymore (and the default apps show up)

There do seem to be some problems where wi-fi will be enabled and say it's connected, but it wont -actually- be connected, and the notification icon displays no signal.

I installed the ROM and I have no service. Hmm...

Where can I acquire 'Drew's V6.2 Kernel'?

EDIT: found Drew's kernel and still had no service.

Go to your system about menu and verify you are running the zvh radio. This rom will only work with zvh baseband.

Max Battery Level

First, great ROM.

Second, I'm having an issue where the battery level seems to only charge up to ~75%. I've had it plugged in for nearly 12 hours straight and it seems that it won't charge any higher than that. Did I mess something up with the Battery Stats?

That'd happened to me before I usually just unplug it an then plug it back in an if that don't work try restarting the phone or try charging it wen its off

I'm having an issue with the wifi tether. I adjusted the settings to make an adhoc network. My windows laptop will connect but not my ubuntu netbook (or linux mint). In the past I've been able to connect to an adhoc hotspot with ubuntu 11.04. I tried other wireless tether apps in the market but the same thing happens. Also, is this rom not compatible with a lot of apps? Many tether apps dont show up (barnacle and wireless tether).

Please help,
masaharustin

EDIT: Ubuntu connects successfully on the aforementioned laptop. Just not the netbook. I'm thinking it could be some sort of driver issue but that wouldn't make sense as its worked in the past and I just tested on an older release of ubuntu where it didn't work.

First, thanks to Scott for the awesome Rom/ hosting... Grom has been the only rom ive used since i got my optimus and rooted it. Went to cricket today to have it flashed for text/voice service @ $35/month. I had to un-root, since the "radio" had been disabled... The (mostly clueless) guy at cricket said I should be able to re-root and the cricket radio settings should "stick"... is this the case? Trying to avoid another cross town trip to the cricket store. Thanks again!!~!
... oh and FYI the guys at cricket were very impressed with GRom. One of them said he'd never seen an optimus run so smooth. Thats grom with the stock theme, (sony font) oc'd with set cpu to 787.

Hoping I can go back to Grom..
Thanks for any advice,
PvT

edit: Patience, while it is a virtue, it is not one that came on my stock ROM...
I went ahead and re-rooted and grom-ed... cricket's radio info stayed and phone works great...!
Thanks again for the awesome ROM, SCOTT!~!

My phone won't charge when it's off. If I turn it off and plug it in, it will instantly boot up. This only started happening when I upgraded to gROM.

I did a clean install of grom 2.2 (went back to zvh). Everything was working great and then gmail just stopped working again. I went back to grom 2.1 (backup I had). I know that one worked great and so far its working good too. Ill report back.
Im curious, is it the new gmail update? And will a reboot fix the issue? or is it just hit/miss where it works sometimes?.

I need to test out calendar updates too. Make sure they are getting pushed.

More gmail push testing

I got an email this morning at 6am, and hour after it was sent. I woke up and started using my phone and this is when I got the email. While the phone is active, say using Pandora, I get emails to the second. During the day I get small delays on email receipt.

To me it feels like gingerbread has a built in sleep mode, this to save battery is my guess. Everyone knows android is not good in this field. This is affecting push mail. A lot of people are complaining about that on stock roms. See the reviews on android market.

Calendar testing

This works just as gmail. I wouldnt rely on creating a task/event that is 5 mins away. I use Jorte calendar and calwidget. These update every hour anyway.

Headphones testing

It is my belief that headphones not working while on a call is not a bug, but a feature. Calls dont work, email and mms sounds either. All these used to. I see that other gingerbread roms have the same problem. This may have changed for gingerbread.
If anyone have a headphone with microphone set, Id like to hear if this works properly.

Mine charges up while on and off.
When its off it will kinda boot up and show the battery charging animation. Not full boot though.

Try a dirty flash (reflash again)

i got to say the rom works great, i know its suppose to be a cleaned up stock rom but one feature i really do miss from reborn rom is the battery indicator that has a number.

It is a great rom!

You could use the UOT Kitchen and make your own. That's what I did. It's not that hard and it's kind of nice knowing that I did something on my own (even something small like that).

Just flash some of the themes that are available.
They include a battery icon with number, and more clearer icons up on top.

Sorry I missed all the fun. But Im back! If there is anything un-answered from the last week or so please repost it but I know that this community does a great job taking care of each other without me!

I cannot connect to any Bluetooth A2DP devices, I haven't tried other profiles as I don't have any other Bluetooth devices.
It asks if I want to pair, I say yes, it pairs, but then doesn't actually connect to the device, playing music doesn't help either. All I can do is ask it to pair over and over again.
I have tested this on two different makes of receivers that prior to this I was able to connect to with no issues.

/Edit, here is what I did to finally get bluetooth to work: Using Titanium Backup I wiped all bluetooth data and then reset the phone.
