Mostly dead, yes. I am hopeful that everyone's working on ICS, but who knows.

Are you sure that you don't have your contacts filtered somehow?

is it ok to move apps from phone to sd card if the phone if giving me that option. Or will that cause problems

Thanks, Scott, for all of your hard work on gROM, which I got working yesterday. My phone is really nice and zippy with the OC, and I really appreciate having the extra app space. Based on some stuff I read here, I flashed GingerKernel 8.1 after installing gROM.

I did have a bad moment however, which I wrote about in a separate thread:

http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...151764-update-fixed-did-i-brick-my-phone.html

Yes, I admit I was foolish to fire up WiFi Manager without reading more about how to use it. I recalled reading that my phone might crash after using it and I was prepared for that. I wasn't prepared for the phone to appear unbootable and unrecoverable for an hour or so.

I've now searched and read the posts in this thread on the topic, and I understand that ad-hoc mode is the one to use to avoid crashes. Would it be too much of a pain to add something to the OP about "WiFi Manager needs to be configured for first use!", maybe under the "TIP" section? I realize that pretty much everything in the rooting/custom ROM world is caveat emptor, but it might help someone like me who previously used wifi tethering (under ZVC stock) without having to configure anything at all.

so what is the proper way to configure the WiFi manager

Edit: Disregard most of this post.

Your Rom is EXCELLENT. However, there is one bug: gRom prevents use of my camera or camcorder.

I thought it was a problem on my end (It may still be), but after flashing, restoring, reflashing, restoring, reflashing, reverting to stock, reflashing, stock again, redownloading gRom, and flashing two more times... I simply cannot use the camera without a lock and crash.

The flash works beautifully. when I was using flash with other roms there's be delays and stuff but with this room right outta the box it is great. Too bad can't get access to the flash apps in the market tho. Thanks for the good sprint based ROM :-)

Nice being able to watch flash video. Only problem I have is when I start Wifi Tethering I get a message that the app started with errors. Any thoughts

Don't mean to look like such a noob, but to download this ROM, do we unzip the Mod-NoAdBlock.zip and Mod_percent_battery.zip to our computers, move to SD card, and then flash from recovery mode? Is this the ROM that we download?

I've been doing research on android ROMs since posting. Found I don't unzip, but I'm still not sure what file to put on my SDcard to flash. Other ROMs are much larger than the two attached with this post (Mod-NoAdBlock.zip and Mod_percent_battery.zip), so I want to make certain that these are the right files before I do something stupid. Are these file the gROM files?

It's okay to be  . At least you're not confused about being confused. Also, I won't fault anyone for asking before doing when things don't seem right.

The two files you mention are not the ROM, they are flashable modifications thereto. The dev on this this one, scrosler, has you go to his website to get the gROM zip file. The link is in that big shiny color pipey thing that reads "DOWNLOAD!" in the OP. Once there, click on "Downloads" in the bar at the top. ;)

It appears this thread is dead now. Nobody answers questions or checks the thread anymore. Maybe the developer has stopped support for this phone because he has a different phone now or something.

Sent from my SHOOTER infected with anthraX, that Jams like no other!!!

i think he's just been busy, he develops I multiple devices. And I know the rezound just got a new ICS leak yesterday, looks like Scott pretty much took the lead on working into a integrating in to ROM

Are you downloading it with your phone?
If so, then try downloading it from a computer and using the USB cord to transfer the ROM into your SDCard.
If your computer doesn't recognize the USB, you could always download the Phone's drivers. Just google 'em.

If you do try downloading it on a computer and it doesn't work, try downloading it with another internet browser.

I just rooted and installed gROM on my daughter's (ZVH) phone. (My 1st root & ROM ever. Easy.) Thanks!

Are there any apps that allow WiFi tethering in infrastructure (not adhoc) mode to work with gROM. I have the built-in app working, but (as previously mentioned) it crashes the phone upon exiting the app.

Since Android WiFi tether 3.1-beta-6 is (as of this post) built-into gROM, I tried installing 3.1-beta-11 but it has the same crash-on-close problem.

WiFi tether is the only thing holding me back from gROMming my phone, my wife's, and my son's. (We're all on ZVC and enjoying free WiFi Hotspot via Quicksettings.)

It may be worth noting (although this is probably true of all custom ROMs) that if you want to be able to use Sprint apps, like Sprint TV on gROM, you should probably backup your Sprint apps from your stock ROM (using something like the free version of Titanium backup) and then restore those Sprint apps once you've installed gROM. Apps like SprintTV aren't available from the Market/Play, and simply installing somebody else's APK file from the web (like SprintTV.APK) doesn't work since those Sprint apps seems to be tied to your phone with a unique ID.
