I am. I missed out on some $0.10 apps because of the issue. I tried completely clearing Market Data, and also uninstalling the update through Application manager in settings, but still had the issue, never really had a chance to look any further into it though.

I had the issue of not being able to buy apps on the phone with this rom too and I figured out how to fix it. All I did was to copy the Vending.apk from the stock LG ZVH rom to my phone and overwrote the one on it. The only Vending.apk i could find on my phone was /system/app/Vending-3.2.0.apk and the version I copied from the stock rom says it is v3.4.4 in the settings so maybe it just needed an updated version.

So just get ahold of the one from the stock rom and copy it over. I copied it over with the exact same name as the old one (/system/app/Vending-3.2.0.apk) even though it is not version 3.2.0 but it works and lets me buy apps so whatever. If no one can get the right file I suppose I can upload it.

Actually I also restored a version of google services framework from the stock rom but I don't know if I needed both to make it work.

I updated the gingerkernel 8.1 last week and off and on over the last week the sd card still randomly is removed on its own. I am considering starting again from scratch. And wipe it again then Grom 2.2 and then the gingerkernel v8.1. if anyone has any other suggestions let me know.

If you are using the stock mem card, i recommended changing it. Its been known to cause this issue. I changed mine to san disk on day 1 and that cured it for my two phones

You could also try backing up the sd card, do a full format, then re load your info to the card.

ummm... Am I missing something ? I don't see the grom for download here. I installed the battery mod thing, but the other file I saw was mod-no adblock.zip and It wouldn't install

In the op is a big image that says download, that will take you to scottsroms.com. on that page click the downloads link at the top, that brings you to the phone list, click on LG optimus s, that goes to another page which has 3 roms listed, grom is the last one.

you need to put stock recovery back on, then flash the VH update.zip, then re-root, then add the custom recovery, then flash grom

Does this support RNDIS for usb tethering/have IPTables_Config or what's-it? I'm tryin to go from wireless tether to usb tether, less burn on the battery, and slightly better throughput from what I understand.

i am having problems sending text messages when im in my air rave coverage anyone know how to fix that issue i also tryed opti rom and had same issue. i just updated to ZVH and am now using g rom 2.2 had no problems on ZVD

Ok.. I have an Optimus S with ZVH radio. I loaded the optiROM and is working for voice BUT my data speed has gone to 1xRTT land.. I am getting an average of 140kbps dowload speeds. I am sitting less than 500m from a tower and have complete LoS to the tower. If the phone had 10 bars, they would be light up. I am getting something -40dBM. So there is no coverage issue. Other devices, on stock Sprint ROM are screaming 1.5-2.0mbps in the same location.

I have the new .81 kernel, NOW....

I tried following the instructions on the OP.

1. Copied rom to root of the sdcard (ranamed gROM2.2.zip to update.zip)
2. Rebooted into recovery
3. Wiped/Factory Reset (Including cache and davlick cache)
4. Chose to install update.zip from sdcard
5. It starts and then comes back with an (unknown error 0) could not open update.zip

I also tried, installing zip file from sd card and selecting the actual update.zip and no dice.

Any help is greatly appreciated, my slow Data is killing me.

I would suggest trying to download the zip file once again to ensure that your first download wasn't cut short. FYI, there's no need to rename the file; "installing zip file from sd card" is the option you should choose so as not to confuse yourself for future updates.

Thanks, Scott, for all of your hard work on gROM, which I got working yesterday. My phone is really nice and zippy with the OC, and I really appreciate having the extra app space. Based on some stuff I read here, I flashed GingerKernel 8.1 after installing gROM.

Yes, I admit I was foolish to fire up WiFi Manager without reading more about how to use it. I recalled reading that my phone might crash after using it and I was prepared for that. I wasn't prepared for the phone to appear unbootable and unrecoverable for an hour or so.

I've now searched and read the posts in this thread on the topic, and I understand that ad-hoc mode is the one to use to avoid crashes. Would it be too much of a pain to add something to the OP about "WiFi Manager needs to be configured for first use!", maybe under the "TIP" section? I realize that pretty much everything in the rooting/custom ROM world is caveat emptor, but it might help someone like me who previously used wifi tethering (under ZVC stock) without having to configure anything at all.

Howdy everyone, first post.

I downloaded gROOT to my phone last night, put the file on my phone, and attempted to flash it. However, every attempt to FLASH would abort the root. Originally it would insist that couldn't recognize the signature, but I simply disabled signature recognition continued on. Now it'll abort without even trying.

THIS MIGHT BE MY FAULT. When attempting to FLASH my phone, instead of FLASHing all of the gROM, it's having me look through files and /maybe/ finding a .zip file or three hidden in a couple dozen folders. The rest of the files are .apks with no way to execute them. MAYBE I didn't put the ROM where I was supposed to, but I did what I read and placed it in the ROOT file (000root).

Edit: I meant to add, seeing as I'm new to this whole thing, if you can give me steps to providing you all with the info you need I'll do whatever.

Place zip on the root of the sd card (not in a folder)
Boot to custom recovery (either xionia cwm or drew's cwm)
Wipe data/cache/dalvik cache
Choose option "install zip from sdcard"
Find the rom's zip and choose.
Choose reboot and your done

Make sure you do not open/unzip the file

Love this rom. I haven't had any problems with anything so far. I have a question though. The lockscreen has always bugged me. Does anyone know how to disable it? Before putting g rom on I was using the no lock app. I've tried no lock and a couple other apps but they don't seem to work.

Is there a a2sd version? I've flashed dt app2sd but my internal memory is still the same as before. The partition space is there too, seems like apps have not moved. Only have 27mb available internal.

Used 32 swap, 512 partition, i assume the rest is fat. Had the same amount before I partitioned sdcard & flashed a2sd beta 4.

Or did i use the wrong a2sd program? Just need to move apps to scarf to free up space. ROM runs great.

I cant get the contacts to import...has any one else had this problem??
I HAVE re-flashed it following directions persicly
and i HAVE just flashed over it agian and they wont take.
P.S i have 4 different back ups of them and none will show
and it will show them like they are working and the right number of contacts but wen its done they dont show
And I did restart to
So just wanna report that

It appears this thread is dead now. Nobody answers questions or checks the thread anymore. Maybe the developer has stopped support for this phone because he has a different phone now or something.
