well i got your rom installed finally. apparently i missed a couple steps lol. everythings looks 10 times better now. thanks alot for this. one question though about the no-frills cpu control program. its showing max 748mhz/245min for the default cpu clocks. so i just check the apply at startup box and im good to go? i also noticed in the governor tab, theres a few settings. default was ondemand. im assuming that is a power saving feature. i noticed there was a performance selection in there as well. im assuming if i select that, i will be at max clocks all the tome?

sorry for all the questions. just want to make sure im understanding all this correctly.

i'd say leave everything as in and jus kick it up to 806 you be aight. reboot manually. and your good to go. you will like it waaaaaaaaaaaay better at 806

My understanding is you only have to use no frills to change the speed from the default 748. Scott, could verify, I may be wrong. I have no idea what the rom's governor is though.

First I can't thank you enough for all your hard work you have put into this ROM. I have been running it on mine since you released it and have not had any problems at all.

So yesterday two of my family members upgraded and got the optimus, so I go through and root them and install your ROM, the first one I did is working like a champ. The second one though I am getting random reboots when I try to use the camera and several other programs. I am thinking this could be a bad phone right out of the box do you suggest I try anything else before I revert this back to stock and get a new one?

PS It is only the purple optimus giving me trouble...which I dont think has anything to do with it

Right, you check the box if you want to vary what I have it set to. But without any toold the ROM is coded to set those values. You would only use CPU tool if you want to vary. For example, you may want to chage the minimum clock speed to 125mhz to save even more battery and or up the max clock speed to make it faster. I found 748/248 to be a good mix. You may choose other wise with no frills. As far as governors... If you select Performance it will just keep the CPU at max clock (what ever its set to) all the time. This will not be good for your battery because you will be at max CPU when the phone is sleeping.

The different gornors manage your cpu levels to help conserve battery or maximize performance. Most people seem alot more concerned about battery life, but want a governor that will kick up the cpu as needed. Ondemand, Interactivex, SmartassV2 are really good at power management AND performance. Try them out and see which is the best fit for you.

Wow, this rom is really slick. I am glad I took the time this morning to update to zvh, and it boots super quick. ROMupdater is great.

Waiting for the data2ext on the next version, I like to have all kinds of stuff installed. hehehe

Yes you are correct. The governor is set to ondemand.

Hmmm. I would try full wipe / factory reset then reload the ROM.

Are you referring to wiping data via recovery? I have done that twice and even tried the 2.0 version of gRom. I am thinking hardware issue now.

Still trying to work on this, finally got back to stock so hopefully this is almost done.

I now have it up and running, I'll let you know how it all goes!!

So far I love it!! One of the things that I hated with the other ones was that I could not shut down the phone all the way and charge it. Thank you for this!

Can I install google apps with this? I don't see it in the menu.

Huh, what? Google apps? Like Google Docs or do you mean Maps, etc? The standard google apps are included and you should be able to install any other google app from market.

Sorry about that, I found it in the menu. I didn't realize that. i do have a question that I posted in the other forum about the booting animation screens. I don't see that at all. You said it was included in the release but how do we get it to work?

Went to the sprint store and had them swap it out and it works like a champ now. Only issues now are the SD cards seems to randomly unmount and remount on 2.1. Mine is still on 2.0 and hasnt had that happen yet. Any ideas?

Had a bootloop so I went into recovery and manually formatted all 'cept SD - formatted boot, data, system and cache. Then reinstalled gROM, now no more bootloop issues... but no service? Wha? Airplane mode seems to do nothing, neither does a simple reboot.

Bad flash? Bad download? Ehhhhh?

You did update to the ZVH radio and root correct? Or did you just have VD rooted and flash the ROM?

I can only assume you prolly ignored the warning in Post #1 that said to read post #2 before flashing? If you read post #2 you would have seen that you need to have the latest radio on the ROM for it to work.

Strange if it happened on one it should happen on the other. This phone has ALWAYS been plagued with SD card issues. Since initial release it has had problems. Other than that its a SOLID little performer.
