Recently i changed Nexus s 4G to nexus s and rebooted in order to get the newest version of Swype because with the 4G it shows a older version.

Actually after looking into the code a bit... If you don't use the included stock launcher then the search bar doesn't appear at the top of the home screen.

I installed ADW EX Launcher and search bar at the top was gone.

The code for the search bar is in two parts.... Part of it to "activate it" is in the Launcher2.apk and the rest of the code is in the framework-res.apk.

So if you don't want that search bar at the moment just flash a 3rd party launcher. Otherwise I will try and post a modded Launcher to flash a little later this evening. Shouldn't be a problem to remove.

Can't wait, keep us posted, there are lots of us that want the extra screen real estate!
Thanks
In sure beezy would add it into the front post as a mod.

I noticed that whenever there is a popup on screen(such as the volume meter when you use the buttons to change it), you can't access the screen behind it. This probably isn't the desired action(it would be a step back from Gingerbread) and I didn't see it mentioned here, so....yeah. Figured I'd bring it to the thread's attention.

Can't wait to see some custom kernels working on this , gets a bit laggy at times

Is there anyway to add a volume option on the lock screen (i.e. slide the circle to switch between silent and loud)? I know ICS probably won't be like that, so it's probably out of the question, but after having that ability to switch volume for so long, unlocking and changing with the buttons seems drawn out. It could be at the top, camera at left, and unlock at right. I mean, it makes sense to me. I don't know if there's any other interest in this however. >_<

Google Music 4.0.1 refuses to install, even after deleting the current Music version

Well it installs but just force closes. Funny because it worked on Gingerbread but not this.

Does anyone know what exactly is being worked on for the next release? Been using this as my daily driver for about 5 days now and was just curious. Thanks.

I don't suppose anyone could tell me what's going on with my signal bars here? (Click the image for a larger version)

well first off your roaming, and you have wifi on, the up and down errors means data is moving.

the only time signal bars show up is when you are roaming, ill post how it looks normal with 3g in a second.

but thats how it is with everyone right now since this is a port.

I've been wondering that same thing. I'm sure in the official release there will be an option to add a shortcut of sorts to open an app or toggle volume. If not, someone will figure out how to add one.

Bluetooth is at the top of my wishlist, and last I heard, a priority with the masterminds behind this port. 4G is another. NFC may come down the line, as well as anything else missing from the demos (i.e. face unlock).

I am too. Beezy stated his girlfriend's birthday was this weekend. I suppose that's kind of important so we just have to wait a bit longer.

Also some keyboard cut off issues with suggestions with SwiftKey.
Pic attached, just figured I'd mention it.

But doesn't she have even the slightest clue on how important this update is? We need this update. She'll have another birthday next year...

Edit: And on a more productive note, I have been unable to sync my Facebook with the People app. Skype and Gmail seemed to work fine, only Facebook didn't want to work.

Wow, that's kinda rude. Beezy is doing this all for free and this may come as a shock to you, but real life is more important than updating software that runs on a phone. If you are gonna be an idiot about it, he has every reason not to release an update. Why don't you code an update or help out? I bet you can't and won't.

I'm pretty sure it was meant as a joke.

And to contribute a little to the thread: If you have the standard limit on in Dev settings, the phone may become slow over time, unless you reboot it. To fix it, just put the background process limit to 3 or 4.
