[ROM] Incredibly Re-Engineered v2.3 [02-8-11] Fast, Beautiful, and Simply Magnificent

I was unable to install it. Kept timing out, and reverting back to the current ROM installed on my device.

Never could get version 2.3 to load. Not sure if my zip file got corrupted when I originally downloaded it.
Stumbled upon version 2.4 from themikmik.com

Install worked.

2.4 is a very sweet rom....no issues installing from recovery at all. this thing flies and I definitely recommend it to anyone. Seems to be a perfect mix of sense and vanilla android that I was looking for.

What kind of battery life are you all getting? My battery life has not be anything to brag about. Seems to use more battery juice than stock Froyo 2.2.

My up time is 5hr 16min just about half of whichbis awake time and I'm at 44% battery left. So that seems pretty good to me. I've been on my phone all morning and I'm happy with what's left.

I should probably add I have the 1750 bigger battery tho

I'm now at 68% . Took it off the charger at 7 am, and its now 12:25 pm. I haven't used the phone much either. I'm usually around 85 - 90%
I have the large extended battery, so I should not be near 68% after 5 1/2 hours of use.

Think I want to to back to stock Froyo 2.2.
Anyone know the best method to to revert back?

Have you installed any new apps recently? Sounds like you have a runaway process. What apps are listed as usig the most battery?

After the having battery issues, I wiped the device and started on a clean slate.
Reinstalled CM7 without really installing any apps. Battery drain wasn't as bad as before, but it was still worse than stock.
I have the 3500 extended battery, so I'm not sure if that would make a difference or not on how CM7 can handle that size battery. I did notice that it would charge my phone fine up until 65% or so, then from 65% to 100% it takes forever it seems to finish charging. After the battery is charged to 100%, it would quickly drop down to around 70% in no time after use.

OK newbie at this and want to make sure I'm doing this correctly
-phone rooted via unrevoked
-all apps backed up via titanium
-next flash (factory reset) phone
-run ROM from sd card?
Correct?

Please PM if i'm in going in the wrong direction or have any tips.
Very Eager to get this going.
Thank you,

Thank you,

After the Factory Reset/Data clear you want to clear cache and then go to advanced and clear dalvik cache as well.

You should be set.

ok and clearing the cache and dalvick is done via???

Edit: Figured out where to do that, ok going through it now, wish me luck..thanks again.

In Clockwork recovery.

Either reboot into recovery if you can or turn the phone off and hold down the Power and Vol Down button and boot into recovery from there.

Wipe Data/Factory Reset is on the first page of recovery, Wipe cache is just below it and under advanced on the first page you will see wipe dalvik.

Hope this helps!

ok so everything appears to be working well...however i did get a message about htc sinc when i rebooted..didn't get to see it clearly though...did i miss something...but phone does appear to be working well...and FAST...also, do i need to keep the zip on my sd card or is it ok to delete?

You dont need it...unless you plan on flashing it again for some reason. As long as you backup if you flash another rom you'll be fine. I've tried what seems to be every rom for the DInc...I always come back to incredibly reengineered. Its the best I've seen.

ok only other issue i have is that gmail won't automatically update with notifications, having to refresh...also, google maps will not update...advice?

Check in accounts and sync. Look in your google account settings and make sure gmail is checked. It's not by default.

Maps won't update from the market or in real time?

checked that, and it shows that auto sync is checked..went ahead synced all while i was there though

well, when i went to the market it said there was an update...downloaded fine, but errors out upon install

hey once again thanks for all the help....still loving this rom...only issues are as follows:
*gmail, my additional accounts, primary aside, need to be mnually refreshed, i have sync checked off, but it does not auto refresh.
*both google maps and facebook had updates via the market, which will download, but installation is always unsuccessful
*this is a small one, more of an inquiry than problem, but the android market went from cool and transparent back to standard look, don't know why or how?
again, any help would be very greatful. thanks.
